It has a very intuitive and user friendly interface, which makes it a lot easier to use in the beginning. But it's also got tons of advanced features like custom metrics and design features. It's got good performance and great uptime. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to start doing email marketing. Pros 1\. It's very easy to start using for the first time. All the KPIs are already on there automatically, so all you need to do is upload a contact list, choose and edit a template, and schedule it to send whenever you want. 2. There are tons of integrations available. It makes it so much easier to connect your CRM and other tools. Cons Many of the newer features (like forms) kinda feel incomplete. From the ease of integrating your current email list, to how easily you can embed one of the sign-up forms on your website, or even manually add contacts, their leads management is very easy to use and works great. Between that and the ease of creating email campaigns, those are the 2 best features of Mailchimp. Cons The biggest thing lacking in Mailchimp is a completely AI generated campaign. I believe that AI would be able to draft more effective verbiage on some campaigns than we can manually writing them up. Pros What I like most about Mailchimp is the fact that they give users an opportunity to test-drive the platform before committing to it all the way. This is done via the Free plan which offers you access to most of the tools available and this does include their landing page builder and the built-in survey maker. I chose Mailchimp because I have a low volume of clients which means the pay-as-you-go option has been perfect for my business. Cons The main thing I like the least about MailChimp is the fact that there is no email scheduling on the Free plan. This was something the platform included in this plan before but given it's recent removable it makes it far less desirable and on top of that you'll only have access to support for the first 30 Days. I have set up many clients on MailChimp and many of them have stayed with MailChimp as they have grown. It's not the most innovative of the email marketing providers, but overall it is the most user-friendly, especially for beginners, in my opinion. Pros I always recommend this to clients who are just starting to build an email list and create structured email marketing campaigns. The features at the free level are mostly intuitive and simple to use. And once clients get familiar with the MailChimp system, they don't want to switch after they've built their list beyond the freebie level. The best part about MailChimp is the ability to easily integrate with WordPress to auto generate newsletters from new blog posts. This feature alone is reason enough to use MailChimp. Cons I really don't like the lead generation control which only allows you to create one type of form for the entire website. So I use MailMunch as an interface between WordPress and MailChimp. The MailMunch features are much more flexible and practical. By comparison MailChimp seems impractical and unnecessarily controlling. I like that I can schedule a campaign in advance and that we can integrate the software with Slack to get real-time updates of when something sends and if we get unsubscribers. Automation has also been invaluable to our small marketing team. Cons I wish the drag and drop templates were more customizable. Something that is more personalized like Squarespace can be personalized would be amazing. We currently don't have anyone on our team that can code in HTML, so having this resource would be invaluable. As with any product there will be things that come up, but I have never had a problem with getting them resolved easily and timely with their Customer Service options whether it be through Chat or Email. One of the most significant qualities I have noticed about MailChimp's customer service over all the other EMSP's I've worked with is that THEY WILL ADMIT WHEN SOMETHING IS THEIR FAULT! It is unheard of with these types of companies but they do it, and I have gained so much respect for them as a company because of that. Pros What I love most about MailChimp is the amount of services you get for absolutely NO cost. There are endless possibilities of things you can do with this application, and the user interface beats all the others. It is very easy to maneuver and understand for even the most beginner email marketer. The reporting features are phenomenal and with them you are able to provide designer looking reports to clients without even touching them. As a graphic designer, the template creator is definitely the best one I've seen as fair as email marketing applications go, plus they have a variety of pre-designed templates to use that are again, COMPLETELY FREE. I could go on and on about everything I love about MailChimp. Cons The one con I have with MailChimp is that it's been hard for me to get used to their recently updated interface, I feel like the terminology and layout makes a little bit less sense than the old interface, but I could also chalk that up to just being comfortable with what I'm used to. Also (and this is hardly a con) when you have a free version of the application, it does require your emails to be sent out with the MailChimp logo at the very bottom of the email.
