### "A beautiful, advanced platform that I recommend for professional email marketing."

April 14, 2023

5.0

My experience is beautiful and I recommend it to anyone

Pros

A beautiful platform specialized in email marketing. At the beginning, it will be a free plan that gives you limited features that you can start with, enough as a beginner. After that, if you like it, you will be promoted to a higher plan. At that time, you will get money when a business grows via email.Email marketing is always better and better.

Cons

There is nothing negative everything is good

### "Simple, Customizable & Cost Effective"

January 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

When we first started looking for mass-mailing software about 8 years ago, there were very few 'cloud' solutions - with many sending hundreds of emails from our home/small-business connection. Aside from the lacklustre options provided by those programs - it also wasn't ideal to be sent from an IP address we had little control over at the time (now we've moved to an enterprise-grade static fibre line this is less of an issue). However, before we landed on Mailchimp we'd first use a program to design the newsletter and then copy the static HTML into our 'send' program to mass deliver - this left a lot to be desired, and with Mailchimp being one of the first to streamline this process meant we could offer personalised emails - and also offload a huge amount of work on our end.

Cons

There are very few negatives that I'd have about Mailchimp, I think most of mine are to do with integrations - and all of those issues have been on the integrators side rather than Mailchimps. Very occasionally I've had issues with the web editor, but its auto-saving and normal stability have more than made up for those issues.

### "Mailchimp is your go-to for engaging audiences!"

March 22, 2024

5.0

I have been with Mailchimp for quite awhile and have loved being able to use their services to reach our audience! Definitely recommend to anyone who is trying to connect with a larger audience.

Pros

Mailchimp is incredibly easy to set up and use. Being able to connect with our audience in meaningful ways is essential to the growth of our business.

Cons

There are a lot of features that we don’t pay for or use, but they are on our dashboard anyway.

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

We knew that Mailchimp was going to be our go to from the beginning,

### "Muy recomendable para pequeños negocios"

October 16, 2022

4.0

### "Mailchimp is best tools for smaill business to start up"

October 8, 2022

5.0

I've been using Mailchimp for a little over a year now and I have generally positive experiences. The main reason I continue to use Mailchimp is because of the great customer service. They always go the extra mile to help me with whatever question I have and they are always willing to help out with marketing campaigns too. Overall, I've had a really positive experience using Mailchimp and would recommend it to any of my friends.

Pros

Mailchimp is a powerful email marketing platform that allows users to create and send newsletters, email campaigns, and other email content. Mailchimp offers a wide variety of features for campaign management, including automated sending, tracking of results, and data analysis.

Cons

I highly dislike the differentiation - if anyone'have smaller business without having a high priced membership scheme, otherwise it have necessary and highly reliable features which reduce the general e-mail marketing experience, moreover effectiveness-- customer support, and minimal system accessibility are great!.

### "Love Mailchimp. "

October 24, 2022

5.0

Extremely positive. When I started as a 'Digital Media & Content Specialist' early on in my career, I was asked to create an email campaign. I was horrified as I had never done that before. Luckily, Mailchimp made it easy and I've used it for email marketing ever since and have no intentions of changing.

Pros

The fact that they offer a free tier to see if it's going to work for you before going all in is huge. Email marketing can be daunting, but being able to test out a platform with a small sample of your list and work with the support staff before upgrading and going whole-hog with a platform shows a confidence in their product and you'll see why after using it for a while.

Cons

There's really not much to dislike. My only complaints would be complaints of email marketing as a whole (email layout etc.) which Mailchimp has done what they can to correct. At the end of the day, email is a pretty antiquated form of communication and, as such, messages are never going to look uniform across clients/platforms. Nothing against Mailchimp though.

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

Nothing else was really considered. I've always loved Mailchimp.

### "Solid program, but cost and introduction of subscription pricing made it unviable for us "

August 11, 2022

5.0

We still have a positive perception of Mailchimp. It served us well over a long period and was low-stress and reasonably priced. However, as they changed direction with the software (and pricing) it no longer became appropriate for email newsletters only. There is probably tremendous value for those who want to take advantage of segments and the more CRM like features!

Pros

Mailchimp is incredibly solid, the UI is familiar to many staff (so learning curve was slight), and they seemed to maintain high quality sending ip integrity (so open rates remained high). Other competitors we have tested over the years seemed more flexible with their sending quality, so we noticed sharp open-rate drops (even after warming up the list). Campaigns were easy to setup and it was relatively easy to set up attractive emails (or pull in templates from elsewhere). Reporting made sense, and it was useful to be able to track client engagement over time.

Cons

We were very committed to Mailchimp over a long period (10+ years) but primarily for email newsletters. As the software developed, they continued to introduce more and more features, but in some ways this just complicated things for us. We used Mailchimp for infrequent mailouts to large mailing lists, and this worked well when they allowed you to buy adhoc credits. However, when they introduced subscription pricing only (arguably fair enough given all their new features) it made it entirely unviable to continue.

### "A Necessary Tool for a 21st Century Business that's Reasonably Easy to Use, with Great Support"

September 14, 2019

5.0

We are required to send out newsletters to our investors (over 800 of them), and this had made it easy to design good-looking emails. And you can save templates, etc., to use over and over and modify them each time. We've never had a technical problem with it, although we've had issues with 3rd party apps and linked software connecting to Mailchimp. But I contacted their support and they were able to help me fix the issue, even though it wasn't their own software! I thought that was nice of them. They could've said "That's not our app, so we can't help you," but they didn't -- they walked me through a fix.

Pros

It has to be their support chat function and their useful Help articles. I did not get into my business so that I could run mail marketing software, so I appreciate anything that helps ease the learning curve. Email marketing is a necessary evil, and Mailchimp lessens the unpleasantness considerably. With no prior experience, we got up and running quickly. (We tried a few of these apps, and this one seemed the easiest.) It's complicated running email campaigns and newsletters, but once we mastered a few basics, I was very happy with the results. And it scales up as you grow. When our mailing list grew, it did not become exponentially harder to use. They offer a lot of bells and whistles that we don't need/use, but our emails look good and are easy to compose, adding graphics, etc. It automates a lot of repetitive tasks for you -- like your footer and address, etc. And we've never had a problem getting reported as spam. And this may seem minor, but I like the whimsical nature of the occasional chimp graphics. Don't get me wrong -- this is work, not play, but it's nice to see a little chimp every once in a while when you complete certain tasks. Business is hard, so a little levity along with the functionality is welcome.

Cons

The price! It gets expensive quickly. I guess the upside to that is it makes you hone your marketing so you are profitable. You have to cut out waste and hone your mailing list so that it's more efficient. And from my research, the other programs cost about the same. I don't mind paying for ease-of-use, but I wish they would explain "cleaning" and "archiving" and other functions that would help me get my monthly costs down. I'm not planning on jumping ship anytime soon, but if they raise their prices again (they just raised them recently), then I will be gone.

### "Mailchimp Review"

October 2, 2021

5.0

Overall I really like Mailchimp, I think that they’re definitely going into the right direction It’s just small things like the formating issues that make me want to try other sites but for the most part I really like Mailchimp and all that it has to offer in all of the marketing tools that are right there that I can market from just that one site.

Pros

My favorite thing about Mailchimp is their innovation. Not only does mail chimp offer email marketing but they also offer social media marketing as well and that makes it easier because it means I have less websites that you have to log into and remember the functionalities of to be able to do what I need to do to market my products or brand. Compared to other sites that I have tried Mailchimp definitely has the most to offer to me.

Cons

What I like the least about mail champ is that the designs can be limiting but I also found this issue with other sites as well. With using this site I found myself spending most of my time working on the designs and format of the layout of the emails.

### "The go-to email platform if you're starting out in email marketing"

October 11, 2021

4.0

I've been using it for many years and I always refer back to Mailchimp and I recommend it for anyone just starting out their business.

Pros

Mailchimp is very friendly to use, both to create email campaigns and to view and analyze data. And it really covers a wide range of marketing features that can help any startup manage its marketing efforts all in one place. Its CRM is quite good too, it might be one of its strongest features.

Cons

What it offers in variety it lacks in advanced features. It's difficult to create complex automated email flows, for example. And the navigation might not be the most intuitive, but it's OK once you get used to it.

### "Mailchimp doesn't money around when it comes to features and customer service"

February 6, 2019

5.0

Working for a non-profit and having a very targeted base of individuals that I am trying to communicate with can be cumbersome and frustrating because that target group is very segmented by demographics. Mailchimp allows me to modify how I communicate with these segments, without having to reinvent the wheel and send separate campaigns to each segment. I can easily create one campaign and then segment from within to make sure I am communicating correctly to each group.

Pros

Mailchimp has a robust and user friendly dashboard that makes it easy for a novice to get started with an email campaign. That being said, hidden below the surface of templates and cookie cutter designs are fully customizable features and the ability to code your own emails. I believe it serves as the best of both worlds for the unassuming small business owner who really does't have time to learn or the the money to hire a professional to handle their email marketing; it also allows large corporations with a scantly lit room full of code loving nerds to have full control of their email design. Mailchimp doesn't discriminate between these two worlds when it comes the analytics and reporting , they have a terrific suite of tools to measure success. To top it all off, Mailchimp is constantly updating their technology to improve their product and help businesses communicate with their customers.

Cons

The worst thing about Mailchimp is their pricing, they can get pretty steep when you start trying to expand your reach and communicate with a larger audience. The pricing isn't outrageous, but it also isn't competitive. The other cons in my opinion are personal annoyances and probably aren't shared among a whole lot of other users. Their automation tools are a bit limited, my expectations were set high based on all the features that Mailchimp has, automation is one that is still a work in progress. My other annoyance is the branded copy all over the site, it's like being instructed by two dudebros who are constantly making inside references as they show you around. Some probably find this very charming, I find it kind of irritating.

### "The most famous email marketing and automation platform"

August 4, 2022

4.0

I have been very happy with Mailchimp, nonetheless I opted for another alternative after a few months of usage. It’s plenty powerful and customisable, and works flawlessly, but since I needed just a simple weekly newsletter with the latest articles from my newspaper website I found it a bit overwhelming and sometimes confusing.

Pros

Mailchimp is one of not the most famous email marketing and automation marketing platform and for good reason. It has a very generous free tier, works as expected and is full of integrations with third party applications and softwares, and online you can find plenty of free resources and guides or tips. It can be tailored to your specific needs to a very granular degree

Cons

The customisation and powerful options can be a bit scary for a beginner, even for a very basic use case: don’t expect a two-clicks setup. I found the basic setup a bit confusing and quite convoluted compared to other alternatives, which are a bit more streamlined and less dispersive

Alternatives considered

[MailerLite](https://www.capterra.com/p/136603/MailerLite/)[Brevo](https://www.capterra.com/p/132996/brevo/)

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

I think the alternatives are less known and maybe less powerful, but on the other hand I found them also simpler to roughly set up and make them work, while sorting out all the details bit by bit. Mailchimp overwhelmed me a bit with many options and convoluted menus, I got a bit lost and since I needed a very basic application I decided to take a look around…and never looked back for now

### "The Ultimate Email Marketing Tool for Effortless Engagement and Conversion"

June 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

As someone who has used Mailchimp extensively, I can attest to its incredible benefits. The user-friendly interface makes creating and managing email campaigns a breeze. I love how I can automate personalized emails based on specific triggers, ensuring my messages reach the right people at the right time. The template library has saved me countless hours, and the segmentation options allow me to tailor my emails for maximum impact.

Cons

As Mailchimp has expanded its features, I've found the navigation and organization to be slightly complex at times. It can be challenging to find specific functions or settings.

Alternatives considered

[Constant Contact](https://www.capterra.com/p/31898/Constant-Contact/)[ActiveCampaign](https://www.capterra.com/p/79367/ActiveCampaign/)

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

I chose Mailchimp because I could automate personalized campaigns easily, which helped me engage with customers and make more sales. Mailchimp also had lots of ready-made email designs to choose from, so I didn't have to make everything from scratch. I could also send targeted messages to specific groups of people, which was really useful.

### "Mailchimp has evolved with the changing demands of the sophisticated market but it is simple to use."

January 13, 2021

5.0

Mailchimp's flexibility and adaptability to many different user cases has allowed it to meet all of our core requirements.

Pros

The best thing about Mailchimp is it is so easy to get started and communicating with your subscribers. There are simple and easy ways for subscribers to subscribe and unsubscribe. Mailchimp is so much more than just an outbound email tool. Email Templates allow quick professional communications to be created by your organisation on brand and at no additional cost. Powerful but easy to use functionality allows the end user to setup onboarding communication plans and execute automated communications to new subscribers. Multi email setup is easy to complete. Subscriber management also intelligiently scans your incoming subscribers to remove the ones that have trending behaviours with regards to unsubcribe and spam reporting. API integration is built in and connected to most common platforms. There there isn't a direct connection you can utilise online software integrations like Zapier to automate steps. This allows you to connect one system to another and transfer and share information and unsubscribes to your CRM for example.

Cons

Mailchimp has increased its functionality and managed to keep these new features easy to use and adopt. I would say one con is that people don't use half of the available functionality to their advantage. They have tightened up their pricing and reduced the functionality for their lower/free tiers but I think this is more than fair. Make sure you choose the right payment plan, either monthly or pay as you go that matches your requirements.

### "The Perfect Tool For Reaching Your Audience"

October 20, 2022

5.0

Pros

Mail Chimp is an amazing platform with amazing support and even better features. With absolutely zero marketing experience I was able to pick up the tools they’ve laid out, create a clean, consistent brand and get my weekly newsletter out to the hundreds who read them. Mail Chimp’s easy to read analytics, easy-to-navigate interface and customer support make managing my audience and campaign easier than it honestly should be which is fantastic. Mail Chimp is my number recommendation for anyone who needs to reach their audience as easily as possible.

Cons

My only piece of feedback for Mail Chimp is to telegraph where to find the button to send out a re-subscription emails a bit better. I felt like I was digging for quite a bit before finding it and I couldn’t manually re-subscribe an email address that has subscribed in the past. Other than this one issue, I have absolutely no other gripes!

### "Lo mejor para campañas de Mail Marketing"

November 7, 2022

5.0

### "The Professional and Easy Way to Deal with Sending Emails to the Masses"

February 10, 2019

5.0

I am very satisfied with Mailchimp and would highly recommend its use to anyone who is serious about scaling a potentially big business. I will surely consider Mailchimp for my personal brand as the first 2,000 subscribers are free anyway, which makes for a sweet deal! It helped our current company present itself professionally with emails by having access to such a great template editor. We didn't have any web developer working on our team at the time, so it was easy to resort to using the included features, even though it's important to note that any code can be pasted as HTML for those who know what they are doing. We thought that we knew our customers, but the reports generated by Mailchimp really opened our eyes and allowed us to know what works and what doesn't, which was surprising and very useful. Initially, we deployed our own mail server, but we found out the hard way that Mailchimp is a much more reliable solution for us and it removes all barriers related to scale as everything is taken care of automatically on their side.

Pros

Mailchimp has a truly professional feel to it. The interface is responsive and well designed. The platform makes it easy to start for free and offers flexible plans, perfect for a startup. Mailchimp has many tutorials available that came in handy more than once. They also use a good sense of humor, making for a less boring experience when reading technical material. There are many options to customize the service and I found it easy to make all the necessary changes in order to set my account for a Spanish audience in Mexico. Once a campaign has been sent, reports are automatically built. I could even see the stats being updated live just a few minutes after sending everything! There is detailed information about open rates, click rates and statistics about the general industry to see clearly if the audience is being reached as expected. One can also see the reaction of every customer in each campaign: unsubscribes, bounces, number of clicks, etc. All this information is accessible and can be exported to CSV. Another aspect that I really liked is how well the template editor works. You basically insert "blocks" of text, dividers, images or other types of blocks on the right side of the page and you can see in real-time the template being rendered on the left side. I haven't found any issue when viewing an email sent through Mailchimp based on a template, both on mobile and desktop clients. On the contrary, it made for a consistent design and branding.

Cons

Mailchimp works wonderfully well, but it isn't for the faint of heart when it comes to the initial customization. Sure, the documentation is great, but it does take a while to setup everything. It wasn't clear to me how to use templates inside campaigns, for instance, but even without reading all the documentation, one can deduce much of the functioning by simple trial and error, which ended up being my preferred way to learn my way around. I didn't find the File Manager as intuitive as the rest of the interface when I started using the product. Sometimes, I would want to resize pictures or apply filters and would get confused as to where the image has been saved or if it were indeed saved. However, it does seem to be getting easier to use in recent versions, as it contains a "revision history" for each uploaded file and an impressive list of adjustments in the image editor, which is a great addition when working on a different computer where the usual software might not be present. I still prefer using external applications when modifying pictures, but Mailchimp does allow to make pretty much any modification you might need and having access to a revision history makes it easy to go back to an earlier version of a file even without first making a backup of it.

### "Best Email Marketing Software Available "

April 24, 2022

5.0

The customer service is outstanding. I was having some trouble developing a campaign and reached out to customer support and got a reply within 10 hours. I was able to resolve my issue quickly. Mailchimp has really become my Go To tool for all things email marketing related and it has touched on other applications, such as developing a killer landing page which actually gets conversions. I also feel that the free version really does give you a lot to start with, but it is easy to outgrow that really fast.

Pros

Mailchimp makes running an email campaign easy and simple. Don't get me wrong, there are super deep functions like multivariate campaigns and killer landing pages that integrate with your .com. I cannot say enough good things about Mailchimp. I have found that this software is simply the best available option out there for the money. I have been able to grow my mailing list and find what works with my audience.

Cons

I don't like how the Pro features are left out of the basic starter package. I understand that is how they make their money, however, those extra tools could be quite useful to new start up businesses, like myself that simply do not have it in the advertising budget to go to the pro level. I also struggled with making my emails 100% compliant because nowadays everyone is blocking or reporting spam mail. It isn't Mailchimps fault for that, it just makes it hard to get past the red tape of email marketing in general. However, they make it as easy as possible.

Look no further for email marketing!

Mailchimp combines so many of the features that I was using from other software and just blows it away. I was not able to find anything that came close to Mailchimps features on the other software I was using. I always felt like I was piecing together different elements. Mailchimp solves that problem for me and makes running my campaigns a breeze, which fuels my small business.

### "MailChimp is A-Ok Convince me more because my other foot is still out the door, needs improvement"

March 29, 2023

4.0

Pros

Definitely the tracking feature. It really shows which audiences are paying attention to the emails we send.

Cons

Limited designs for emails. Few missing upgrades in the features, there are other innovative feature for other email marketing apps out there who are offering it for free so they need to up their game.

### "Great for freelancer and SMB email marketing, not a CRM replacement"

September 30, 2021

4.0

MailChimp is the industry standard for a reason, and you get all the benefits you would expect from going with a big brand name. Solid customer support (for paid tiers), excellent uptime, and all the features you need and most of the features you want. I personally have never found the landing pages or social media ad features useful, and I do not think MailChimp can effectively do the job of a CRM, but as far as email marketing goes, this is my favorite.

Pros

Getting started with MailChimp is easy and affordable. It might be free depending on your audience size. I have used other email platforms like ConstantContact, iContact, Marketing Cloud, and HubSpot, and in terms of features MailChimp is at least on par with them. MailChimp is a full email marketing platform, including subscriber management and segmenting, email design, design asset library, email automation, user email preferences portal management, sign-up forms, and even landing pages. I have found all of their features user friendly. I have my frustrations with MailChimp, but it succeeds in striking a difficult balance: it is user-friendly enough to be implemented and used by someone with minimal tech background, but can be built out to greater complexity and robustness if the user is tech savvy. Another benefit that you find with popular tools like this is the deep learning resources. Tons of forums, questions, how-tos, etc. Whatever issue you run into, it has likely been asked and answered. MailChimp would be, and has been, my go-to for freelancer and small business needs. And I have also used it for marketing large, multi-location and multi-brand companies, with no issues. It's flexible and reliable, and when you're about to hit "send" to 100k people, that's critical.

Cons

Pricing can get steep at certain stages of business growth. Switching to business and pro tiers incurs a sharp increase in monthly pricing, and in addition you get charged more as your list grows. Cost creep can be sudden and shocking for truly bootstrapped businesses. A big potential issue is that MailChimp has been touting itself as a CRM lately. I do not think it makes a good CRM replacement for any size business, except perhaps a freelancer with a small contact list. The data management and manipulation features are too basic. Data management tools are weak. Some tracking issues, but this is such a convoluted and changing area it's hard to know where the issue lies. Specifically, if I leave "click tracking" enabled on a campaign, MailChimp will override my source/medium tags in third party site tracking.

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

2 factors drove the decision: - pricing vs features, we didn't want to go totally bare bones but we also didn't have a complex enough ecosystem to require Salesforce-level tools; - Team familiarity. The client I currently use MailChimp for had some past experience with MailChimp, which made start up time quicker.

### "A Great Solution to Email Marketing that's Getting Better"

October 23, 2020

5.0

My experience has been great and consistently delivers for over 20 years now as I work in email marketing on a daily basis. I've brought many new customers to them over the years by recommending them to my own clients. I have that much confidence in the reliability and usability of Mailchimp.

Pros

I've been working in email marketing for over 20 years at this point. I discovered Mailchimp early on during that time and have been using it every since. I have clients that were using other systems before working with me. Most are cumbersome and offered little in the way of being able to design stunning emails that captured attention in the inbox. Plus, Mailchimp's deliverability rate has never been matched. As times have changed, and so has email marketing, Mailchimp continues investing in their platform to make the work of email marketing more integrated into other platforms like social media, eCommerce and more systems. They've added features that have helped make my job more of a one-system stop which has been a positive impact on my workflow. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Cons

As they are investing in the platform, there have been many usability and design changes that have come with these improvements. As a user, that can add frustrations. The dashboard and menus can literally be completely changed on you from one day to the next. It's annoying, but it's bearable. And I think they may be almost done with these complete redesigns in adding functionality to their system.

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

Mailchimp's developers just had it right out of the gate with their product. And it has only improved over the last 20 years. I found these other products to be less intuitive, versatile and user friendly. A lot has changed over the years, but I keep coming back to Mailchimp time and again because it is just the best out of all the options available for email marketing.

### "Simple to use, intuitively designed and good value! "

January 3, 2020

5.0

We've used MailChimp for years with our clients. We generally choose it as the best option because many clients like to control their email marketing at certain times and they often don't have time to waste - MailChimp has a relatively short learning curve compared to alternatives and it's easy on the eye. In that sense, it offers the best of both worlds, for us and for our clients (though as mentioned, the lack of robust automation and easy to follow automation flows hold it back slightly)

Pros

\- Email builder is incredibly easy to use and offers lots of functionality that's easy to grasp with a quick learning curve - Able to create social adverts, forms, landing pages and send direct mail all from your account - it's becoming more an all-in-one marketing platform than ever with new features and changes seemly every few months - Strong integration support makes it easy to connect most commonly used services like Google Analytics, SurveyMonkey and eCom platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce - Easy to understand reporting that clients are able to digest quickly - It's free with limited features, but they're generally perfectly adequate for non-power users and a small database of fewer than 2000 people - Customer support guides are aplenty - there's lots of literature on every topic and it's very comprehensive - Erm, 'MailChimp Presents...' - they make their own original streamable documentary shows now - and it's actually decent!

Cons

\- Automations are relatively basic when considering this as automation software - alternatives like ActiveCampaign are more robust in this area, especially when it comes to complex rules and automation flow visuals - Lack of someone to speak to when things are going wrong - you're pretty much on your own with the guides available (perfectly fine when you're IT-savvy, not so much when you aren't!)

Alternatives considered

[ActiveCampaign](https://www.capterra.com/p/79367/ActiveCampaign/)[Brevo](https://www.capterra.com/p/132996/brevo/)[AWeber](https://www.capterra.com/p/95949/AWeber-Email-Marketing/)

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

Simplicity for both time-strapped clients who need to use it themselves at times, strong support documentation (despite lack of real human support) and wide integration options.
