I do use another program for my vacation rental business but also recommend them both when people ask! Pros Ease of use and customizable templates were my most favorite features. Pros Our choice to use Mailchimp as our go-to email newsletter platform was because of its ease of use and deliverability. Email campaigns become much more effective due to the ability to target the right audience based on their demographics and interests by knowing which lead magnet they sun=bscribed to. -ie Segmentation. Cons The Mailchimp templates all look very similar, a big giveaway that the sender is using this platform. The premium templates are quite expensive for what you get. I still use Mailchimp for some basic email projects. Pros I love the fact that the free trial allows for1000 subscribers without any time limit. This allows start-ups with little or no marketing budget to run their campaigns. I benefited from this. The tools are tools - reporting system, tracker, landing page and squeeze page builders, campaign managers e.t.c. are simple to use and understand. Cons The simplicity and easy-to-use of the Mailchimp email tool do not include its templates. It is really not easy. I had to download a couple of youtube videos before I could finish my designs. What I really like is the ease of setup and the fact that you can design an email template with multiple custom merge labels that auto-complete when you upload an Excel file with contact information. The fact that this is the case makes compatible with almost any CRM. Cons Signing up for a mailing list via the API doesn't result in an email confirmation, which is a shame. This makes some lists very vulnerable to bots sending spam email addresses. At least I couldn't find them. An improvement would be to simplify the interface to certain CRM systems without having the technical knowledge. August 27, 2022 5.0 The level of customer service is excellent. When I contacted customer care since I was having some difficulty creating a campaign, I received a response within 10 hours. My problem was swiftly resolved. Mailchimp has truly taken over as my go-to tool for everything email marketing-related, and it has even touched on other uses, like creating a beautiful landing page that really converts visitors. In my opinion, the free version actually gives you a lot to work with at first, but you can easily outgrow that very quickly. Pros An email campaign may be easily and quickly launched with Mailchimp. Don't get me wrong, there are some incredibly complex features that interface with your.com, such as multivariate campaigns and great landing pages. I can't express how wonderful Mailchimp is enough. This software, in my opinion, offers the finest value for the money out there. I've been able to expand my mailing list and figure out what my audience responds well to. Cons There aren't many drawbacks that I would mention with regard to Mailchimp; the majority, in my opinion, having to do with integrations. All of these problems have been the responsibility of the integrators rather than Mailchimp. I've very rarely experienced problems with the web editor, but those problems have been more than compensated for by its auto-saving and regular stability. Cons The system can sometimes be a bit slow, and managing images within your library could be better. The cost seems to up significantly when your database grows. We have used it for marketing with little success. but that was based on paid for data lists which MailChimp don't allow and told us off for, which is fair enough. we are going to be using it to capture emails from website pop ups so we'll see how that goes Pros very easy to create quality emails and set up new campaigns Automation is very easy to set up the mailchimp pop up email capture tool is going to be very useful replicating previously used campaigns is a life saver Cons they've recently changed the email design engine and i find the new one a bit clunky, you seem to have to click several times in a text box for the cursor to appear. The "arty" icons they use are not intuitive at all, I have to always hover over icons to see what they are, for example the audience icon is some blobs and squares, you can kind of see it once you realise what it is, but words would be so much easier. Reports on what worked best for my subscribers to keep them engaged. Also it is free to use under a certain number of subscribers so it is perfect for my needs! Pros Mailchimp is spectacularly easy to use. It is very intuitive and also it is free if you have less than 2,000 subscribers, which makes it the go to e-news for small nonprofits or groups. It also has a lot of free features that keeps all of your e-mail campaigns organized and customizable - they also have free templates that you just need to adjust to your needs with minimal hassle, even if you do not know any html. Their reports feature is also really handy! I personally use it to see which links people clicked on the most, thereby allowing me to tailor my links to my subscribers interests. It also shows you the best days to send your email and your open rate in comparison to your particular industries average. Finally, I love that you can upload subscribers through an excel file or cvs. You can also update or change a subscribers email in the same way! So instead of changing an email one by one, you can just upload those changes. Basically, if you have simple needs and a small number of subscribers I highly recommend it! Cons The only thing that I have hit a wall with this product is in trying to really customize it. I do not know html so trying to adjust certain templates to do something like a picture scroll, or change a color is difficult and I have yet to figure it out. Pros I love the simplicity and the ease of use in the platform for preparing campaigns, copying templates and selecting your audience. The system took a few hours to get familiar with, but now I use it daily and couldn't really be without the product for my customer base and communicating on a regular basis. Cons I do have an issue with the campaigns going in to spam/junk folders for my audience. Pros It is very user friendly. I set up Mailchimp for many of our clients and it is the most user friendly that we have found while also constantly updating to stay current with the market. The inclusion of Journeys was a very solid move for Mailchimp and made them more in line with Keap and others. Cons Customer service is lacking and only available if you pay for it. The interaction tracking and analytics features were great in figuring out what content and news to share out based on the amount of clicks and email opens there were. It made the number of engagement increase. Pros What I liked most about using Mailchimp is how easy it was to learn how to use. I used it during my internship so putting together newsletters and sending them out was very quick and efficient. Cons What I liked least about this software was the slight lack of flexibility there was to customizing the newsletter format. It had all the necessary options to create simple newsletters but only to an extent. Overall it was a great tool for simple newsletters. It is cost effective which is wonderful but even better it still gives you great access to amazing tools even at the free level. It is a great place to build your email list up over time as well as integrate with your other systems as you grow. When ever someone is looking to start their email list I have always suggested mail chimp. Pros Mailchimp is great because it is user friendly, integrated in to many other platform so sharing content from one to the other is simply (for example it is hooked up with canva so I can create something there then send it straight to my mailchimp account), it is simple to add in new email contacts, and it is cost effective. I not only use it for my current business but I used it previously when I was in the non profit sector and it was amazing to have access to tool to engage with our clients at a fair price. Even their free tier gives you great access to features other systems would make you pay a ton for. Cons honestly for what I need it for there are not a bunch of cons for me. I have watched it grow over the years and which each improvement and integration it has answered my concerns or problem areas. Mailchimp, I am so over you. I'm taking my contacts and leaving. Delete my number. Pros I liked that it connects to Canva, an app I use often, and their captions are cute and friendly. It forced me to teach myself what API was and how to enter some code on the backend of my domain and website...things I had no idea even existed 6 months ago. I have a Squarespace website, and once I got it connected (for me, this took several weeks - since I had to figure out what things even meant), the pop up form looked nice. Migrating my contacts from Constant Contact was easy - hopefully they go back there just as seamlessly. Cons I have wasted so much time trying to make this software work for me. I wanted it to work for me - their ads show beautiful emails! I thought it was just me, maybe I just needed to get the hang of it, I'm not a professional marketer, so of course, I'd need to learn a few things. But I used Constant Contact for a few years, and that was easy. Surely, Mailchimp would be better... I attended the Webinars, I have watched all the tutorials, read the documents, read them again, added some kind of code to GoDaddy, put some API (whatever that is) in my Squarespace. Something went wrong and it was an Outlook thing. I never did figure it out, I ended up using a difference email provider instead. I spent a whole weekend (no exaggeration) trying to combine audiences, add tags, segments, groups - GROUPS! OMG. Seriously, Mailchimp? It's fairly easy to use for the minimal amount of email marketing that I do. Cons I found the email templates a bit difficult to work with and edit to suit my needs and often found myself designing from scratch or changing so much that there was no resemblance to the original template. I also found the contact list a bit cumbersome to deal with.
