### "Mailchimp for Retail Store"

February 12, 2023

3.0

Our experience with Mailchimp has been positive and has become a critical tool for our business.

Pros

The ability to create, edit, and promote email campaigns. The templates provided make it easy to design specific campaigns such as events, announcements, sales, and more.

Cons

The software can run slow at time, and it can be difficult to make images the correct size for the email templates.

### "Great email platform"

February 9, 2021

5.0

Mailchimp for email marketing has been pretty great. It gets businesses into an email program easily and effectively.

Pros

Mailchimp has or is becoming the gold standard for email marketing. It is very easy to use and build out campaigns. It has come a long way in the marketing automation game. While not professing to be a HubSpot or Sharp Spring, it is definitely stepping on their toes. The integrated email automations and funneling are a big advantage for Mailchimp over other email platforms.

Cons

Two main things stand out. The social integration breaks almost every campaign use. Client's social profiles are connected correctly, yet when set with an email to include a social social send, it almost always breaks and gives an error after the campaign is completed saying something like "there is an issue with your campaign, social connections not correct". Super frustrating. 2nd, at the higher end usage (i.e. 10s of thousands of contacts), Mailchimp gets quite expensive.

### "Really easy to use email marketing software with an intuitive interface"

September 7, 2018

4.0

Using this to keep our e-mail subscriber on the loop about our company's news and send out informative e-mails to large lists of partners. We stopped using it to answer leads because it would be too expensive.

Pros

What I love the most is that I am able to gather leads and upload lists of clients and then segment them in ways that make sense to me. The list feature was easy to understand from the go. The e-mail designs are also very nicely presented and have helped me several times when I ran out of ideas for content or layout as I would just switch to a different one and get inspiration from it. It integrates with almost ANYTHING, and if you can't find a service you need, there's likely a zap for that ;) The free version was good for a while, but... (on to the "cons")

Cons

After some time and as our e-mail lists grow bigger, the software becomes virtually impossible to use at its free version. The way it corners users to pay is quite intelligent if you ask me, but it can be a bit frustrating when the price is not something you had budgeted for or something that would normally produce any kind of earnings. As most of the e-mails we shoot with MailChimp are not sales e-mails, it has been hard to justify any kind of investment. This happens at about the 2000 users mark. Other than this, I also thought the template editing tool was a bit hard to use and I gave up on changing any layouts after some time, which is not a big "con" because the ones that are provided are good for almost any use, but sometimes you have something specific in mind and it would be nice if MailChimp made it easier to design it.

### "If you can compromise on a few things, it's great"

March 7, 2018

4.0

Easy emails, easy reports, and easy list management. Isn't that convenience what everyone uses MailChimp for?

Pros

For the most part, you can do anything you want with your emails in an easy way. Set up branded templates, customize each email, add different kinds of content SO EASILY...it's what you would expect from a wiziwig email creator. Reports are good, though there are more modern metrics missing, but the metrics included should provide enough insight for you to improve as you go.

Cons

Sometimes customer service gives up on your problems. I recently had a template defect, and no one could explain why, so they just said to start over with that template/email, because they couldn't fix the problem or explain it. That's a waste of my time and effort, not the point at all of templates. That wasn't the best experience. Other experiences have not been so bad.

### "An Old Way to Do Email"

December 10, 2019

4.0

We outgrew the capabilities of Mailchimp about 6 months before we switched to Klaviyo. After switching many of our pain points were solved or pacified.

Pros

Once I had a system in place, I could easily clone out an email, update content and send it to the same audience. The email tool worked and generated a lot of revenue for us.

Cons

The biggest downfall of Mailchimp is the list management, and how campaigns can only send to one list, making it so you have to clone a campaign to a different list if you want to send to a different group. The list management also made it difficult to grow our email list and the segmentation tool is extremely weak. Integration with Shopify and other platforms is not good. We would be getting email sign up registrations and they wouldn't be added to our proper list because of the way it was integrated. We could only add to a certain list and could not include with our overall marketing messages without cloning every campaign. The template builder and drag and drop tool is also very weak.

### "Good tool for email marketing"

April 30, 2019

4.0

Mailchimps allowed us to offer a good option to small/medium clients to focus on their email marketing strategy. It is very easy to use so it can be handled by people with almost no experience on the field so it is easier for our clients and us to be on the same page.

Pros

We have been using Mailchimp for our small and medium size clients and we are all happy with the options it offers. First of all, for up to a number of newsletter there is a free option, which is very convenient when small/new businesses are starting to explore with the email marketing and growing their client data base. The platform is very user friendly and offers many templates to configure your newsletters. Besides all the basic features of having your client database and sending out emails yo your mailing list, it allows you to do much more: you can run A/B tests, schedule the send out, do tests, incorporate videos, gifts, different fonts and pools to your newsletter and it is all GDPR complaint. You can add the new contacts manually, by uploading a file or even better, integrating Mailchimp with the newsletter form on your website. Reporting is also good, you can be updated on real time on different metrics as for example newsletter opening rate

Cons

it is a great tool to send newsletter but when it comes to more complex marketing strategies I feel it does not do the job. It is not possible to segment in different levels the send outs with different variables. When it comes to small/medium business it really worth it, but it can be pricey for the options it offers when it comes to bigger business

Pros

It's an amazing well rounded marketing campaign and survey software that we are able to send professional looking emails to our employees and end users. I love the extra functionalities provided when actually creating the email templates and how supportive the MailChimp team when you are having issues.

Cons

Everything is great about MailChimp! The only thing is the price. If you have the money it is absolutely worth it. Plus if you're a smaller company there is a free version that does the same thing for u!

Pricey for what it offers but there is a reliability, name recognition, and extensive features that make it worthwhile. If you want to get serious about email marketing, Mailchimp is the right application for you.

Pros

Allows you to be ever-present by scheduling email campaigns and setting up flows that intuit customer behavior based on email opens and clicks

Cons

It is very technical and not beginner-friendly. There are articles on Mailchimp's website to help set it up, but it really is best for more experienced email marketers or if you have support.

### "Using Mailchimp to enhance our customer journey"

November 16, 2019

5.0

Used Mailchimp for a few years - switched to it from Constant Contact (and loved the change), switched from it to Exact Target (and didn't like it at all). Now back into the fold, but at a new business. First usage - B2B communication with a few thousand contacts, really happy with how it worked, reporting could have been more robust, but for our needs it was ok. Second usage - B2C communication with some thousands of contacts - and growing - via a e-shop interface. Like it so far, colleagues also happy with its functionality and ease of usage compared to previous solutions.

Pros

Easy to use and intuitive for the average user Integrates well with our pre-existing ecommerce solution Developments over the last few years (have been using it since 2010-ish at a previous job) are very well thought through and customer centric

Cons

WYSIWYG... at times. As long as what you want to do (visually) is close to its idea of what things should look like, it's great - if you need something further from the visuals/format it expects, results might vary. Initial integration with PrestaShop was a little wonky - still not sure whether it was a PrestaShop or a Mailchimp issue, will update the review once we have it fully figured out

3.0

We are able to reach more customers with less legwork We were also able to change how people view our company as a whole. Mail chimp makes our 5 to 10 person group seem like and Army.

Pros

Mail Chimp is very flexible and gives you a wide variety of easily customizable options. I use it for everything from Turkey Drives and fundraiser registrations to Album release contests. I hired 2 new people that have almost no graphic design experience and they were both able to learn the platform in a short time and implement what they knew in a real-world environment. Furthermore. The templates aren't cookie-cutter and are easily customizable. They update someone signs up for your product or offer. Its a low key way to get alot more customers and sell alot more products without texting 100 people1 at a time. in the end its definitely worth trying out

Cons

I wish Mail chimp had a desktop app that was downloadable and cloud-connected. I also wish that you could integrate it with other software like Google Drive or other Cloud-based services.

### "Weekly emails made easy! "

June 30, 2023

I would recommend mailchimp to anyone that is looking to maximize their time and communication commitments.

Pros

Mail-chimp allows our school to put everything we need to communicate in one spot. The ability to schedule a send every Friday morning at 7 am allows me to have freedom to do other things.

Cons

It’s a little hard to format. After awhile you learn to navigate the platform but I would love for some edits to be made with this process.

### "Email Marketing was never this easy before!"

November 12, 2022

5.0

Mailchimp is a great tool with one of the best customer service. We use it for all our email campaigns and we always achieve the results we want. The email designer also is pretty easy to use. Its a must recommended tool if you are new to email marketing.

Pros

We use mailchimp to send out all our emailers and newsletters to our customers. We send this accross to millions of data and mailchimp has never let us down. The spam ratio of this tool is pretty low and the emails mostly land in the inbox. We also use this tool for email management and it provides you with all the important stats after a email campaign is delivered.

Cons

Pricing can be better. It is always better to go with custom plans.

Cons

### "The support of Mailchimp marketing in business"

December 17, 2019

5.0

Recommending using Mailchimp if you want your business to be known as soon as you can. Mailchimp will support you in the marketing strategy via email. Also, it could ensure you to develop a relationship with customers.

Pros

I started using Mailchimp a year ago as a business. I felt Mailchimp was the most useful for business. Mailchimp allows businesses to track customers' subscribe to their business channel. Once we receive customers' emails via the shopping or subscribe, the business will send the announcements of its exclusive events to their customers. Also, we can send emails to customers a friendly greeting whenever a new customer subscribes the channel. With the convenient of Mailchimp features, the business can grow further. Moreover, the business will become popular with email marketing strategy.

Cons

Templates for email announcements to customers are basic. As a business, we want to have something can capture customers when they see. Therefore, we have to create our own and fix the template as the way we have to do.

Mailchimp is an extremely user-friendly email marketing tool. We have been using it to send newsletters, product updates, contests and much more. Getting reviews from customers has become much easier.

Pros

I love how its so easy to use and setup your first email campaign. There is no need for any walkthrough or training. The end result is beautiful newsletters. Multichannel support. Integrations with a lot of useful platforms to make campaign management seamless.

Cons

Although the platform does the job well, I think their automation part can be improved further. The free plan had a lot of useful features before but they seem to be pushing towards premium plans lately.

### "Number 1 Email Marketing Service"

April 2, 2020

5.0

Mailchimp, besides creating a new template and campaigns that I struggled to figure out, is really easy to use. It’s very simple and straight forward. Even the free version comes with many great features, such as statistics. I can clearly see my opening rate improve when I try something new with my email headlines for example. Great software overall. I’d recommend it to anyone even if you are not into email marketing but just want to send out information to a group of people on a regular basis and are representing an organization.

Pros

It’s the little things that matter. I really appreciate that in the free software the MC logo isn’t crazy obvious in the emails my subscribers receive. I mean it’s there but it’s still really usable. Some software that is free almost forced you to pay for a subscription because of how janky it is. Mailchimp’s software is totally usable even when it’s free. Quality is still upheld.

Cons

Something that I find annoying is creating a new template and using that template over and over again. I had a hard time figuring out where to find that feature, and I’m a young person. I know how to use technology. This must be even more difficult for an older person who isn’t very tech savvy. You have to create a template and then create a new campaign from that template every time. What I don’t like about this is that it’s geared towards people who run email marketing campaigns, but I often use it outside of work just to send out information to my church. Then it doesn’t make sense to create campaigns because I’m not running any marketing campaigns. Mailchimp can be used for a variety of things but their system isn’t really set up for that.

### "Easy Email Marketing"

February 6, 2020

5.0

We use Mailchimp most days to send out communications to a variety of our members. Sometimes it's to everyone, other times just to business partners or our operators. It's very easy to use and it keeps all of our email communications very organized. No second guessing when something was sent or how many people opened it and clicked through.

Pros

Mailchimp is very a very easy to use, plug and play email program. No need for you to know HTML (although that can be helpful at times). Mailchimp allows my team to stay on top of our marketing efforts, creating multi-use templates, custom layouts, a simple gallery (where you can make basic photo edits right there) and more.

Cons

Sometimes spacing is a little off and there's no easy way to fix it. Otherwise, I think Mailchimp is a very good email client.

Switched from

[MemberClicks](https://www.capterra.com/p/133851/MemberClicks/)
