It is compatible with many platforms is the mail that I use for the massive sending and photos of the photoboth software. Cons Before using it, I investigated about its scope and costs. The comments were not very positive, however, it has worked great for me because the amount of emails that I need to send monthly does not exceed the limit of the gartuita version. But thinking of a greater scope and when you need a message to be answered automatically, I will surely think of another that meets those characteristics. Pros There are many API options that allows you to integrate the Mailchimp service with your own platform or store. The Automation options is also very powerful, which we use a lot to keep engaging with our mailing list, Cons The web based service is good - however, the mobile version is very slow and is always giving connection error messages. Being able to group certain contacts together is a great tool. Knowing that we can create an easy-to-use and easy-to-read monthly Newsletter for our customer base, gives us the ability to keep Stouffville Toyota in front of customers' faces. We are sending newsletters monthly and can always depend on Mailchimp having all of our contacts. Pros Mailchimp allows users to create and organize campaigns or newsletters to cater to their business, targeted audience, and campaign style. This is very beneficial to employees in a new market who may not be fully aware of the click-through rates/impressions that a specific industry sees. I really enjoyed reviewing the reports of the campaigns we send out, and comparing those results to the industry averages as well as previous campaigns. Organizing the newsletter/campaign is easy to use and figure out. There are quite a few different items that you can insert into these campaigns such as buttons, videos, paragraphs, images with captions that work really well on Mailchimp. Cons Some of the issues I have when using Mailchimp relate to email filtering and ease of newsletter creation. I find the newsletters are always sent to my junk inbox, however, this could be related to my business-specific email address. I would love to see fewer emails being sent to junk, however, this is also an information issue - if we don't have first or last names for customers, these emails can be filtered easily to junk. I find I am always wanting to Copy and Paste specific boxes/elements in the newsletters. I like to take material from previous campaigns and add them to our current ones, this way it saves time from having to recreate the same material over and over again. I will also say that I think the Mailchimp layout/website could use an update. The website and Newsletter builder is on the older end and could become much more interactive for users. I've also taught it to some of my clients who are coaches and consultants. It's a great place to start when setting up your first email list and also has a shorter learning curve than other products I've used. Pros For one, I love the ease of use. The free templates have made it easy for me to create newsletters for different occasions. I also love their knowledge base which has helped me move from 'not having a clue about this' to mastering the app. I also like the fact that you can use it for free for upto 2,000 subscribers and even after this, their prices are quite affordable. Cons The change from Lists to Audience hasn't been easy for me. Finding a tutorial that worked for me took long and I still struggled to understand how the new system worked. I'v also struggled to understand automation and eventually gave up. This is why I haven't given MailChimp a 5-star review and have been evaluating shifting to AWeber. Review Source Luke W. We have been using it since 2010 and have never looked back. If you send out newsletters or other campaigns its the perfect software for any size business. Cons The software has some advanced features & it would be great to get a video tutorial on how to use these features for new users. I needed a way to inform clients and potential clients of opportunities, deals, etc and the marketing CRM was a great starting point. Was able to easily segment and target records which led to increased engagement overall. Pros Easy to use and the free version has plenty of functionality for small businesses just getting started. Automations, multiple channels, templates, targeting, and more. Behavioral targeting was interesting but we really haven't gotten into it enough. I am quickly bumping up against my limit on the number of contacts the free version supports, which is a good problem for me to have. I've used other marketing automation tools before and Mailchimp was very easy to set-up and begin using very quickly. I am a small shop so I haven't even really fully utilized all the tools like behavioral targeting that I mentioned above. Cons The free version is fantastic for small businesses and those just getting started. For a free tool, there is nothing missing from the offering from my perspective. Reason for choosing Mailchimp I only looked at Mailchimp and believed it to be the best in class for what I was trying to accomplish. I believe I made the correct choice by selecting Mailchimp. Once I started using MailChimp, I haven't looked back. It is so easy to create mail campaigns, edit/create templates, track recipient behavior, set up scheduling, see email results, and it integrates into a vast number of other products. I HIGHLY recommend this product to my clients. I like being able to schedule a series of automated emails. The ability to test a subject line, from name, content and send time is a great tool. I have been using MailChimp for about five years and will continue to use it for my clients and recommend it to as many people as I can. It just makes sending emails that look good so much easier and it integrates into websites with ease. Support is always great and helpful. Cons It would be nice to have access to My Library from the home screen so I can add or remove images or files without having to go into a campaign or ad. The analytics are easy to follow and understand, which males tracking engagements and new subscribers a breeze, and the template choices as well as click and paste style customization options are really nice and super user friendly, even for folks who arent familiar with web design or online content creation. My boss was leery at first, as the cost of mailchimp is a bit high vs other services and products of it's kind. I was able to show him in black an white at the end of the free trial list how valuable an asset mailchimp was for our business. Pros With several options at varying prices, you can choose to use as simply a platform to send out email blasts/newsletters to your subscribers or go big and opt to automate most of your marketing needs. There are also varying levels of use in between. Mailchimp is awesome. Because you can customize the level of use based on company needs and budget. Cons It's a bit pricey. I had a hard time convincing the heads of the nonprofit where I work that this was a necessary expense. We would like to see more demographics and more information on ROI. Pros Great for our startup company to create a mailing database that provides geotracking and outreach to our customer base. We like the feature that allows us to see if the customers have opened the mail so we know what is effective. Knowing what time customers open the mail is also effective so we can group by demographics. We also like that we can import from our current subscriber list so and bypass the opt-in feature. The customization of templates are nice, but having the support from mailchimp team to help with branding our emails specifically is even better! Cons The price point is reasonable for startups, but once you start hitting over 1000 customers then the price plan becomes a bit steep. If you're a company who is wanting to reach a large client list without having to empty out pockets then this may not be for you. Shopping for email service providers is like shopping for a home, you can't undo it easily. I am happy to have Mailchimp as my home for over 5 years. Pros Mailchimp is just easy to use and easy to get started. The API is very developer friendly if you want to get more advanced. The customer support is superb and has solved all my tickets fairly fast. You also get a discount for having 2-factor authentication which is lovely. Cons The only thing I don't like is when you grow, the unlimited sends end. So if you grow past a certain point it gets expensive and you need to clean your list frequently to save money. To me Mailchimp is THE software for online communications and always has. Similarly as when you think of diapers you think Pampers, and when you think of shoes, you say "Adidas" (shout out to all my Polish peeps), when you think newsletters think none other than Mailchimp. Back in the day it used to have limitations, but as my business grew, so did Mailchimp and I can't be more thrilled about all the new addons and user friendly UIs. Even support team is very capable and understanding and will help you if you ever hit a snag. Cons I had some issues with managing my lists once. I was told by support staff that I can move my lists around and the price will not be affected, because it only matters how many users you have at the end of the month. That is not true. Duplicating over half a million users created quite a bit of a bump in the price for the month, but their support team was able to clear this up for me after few emails. Pros The fact that mailchimp allows me send to 2000 subscribers is a huge boost to my email marketing needs. I mean i could start an email marketing campaign without any money unlike some others where i have to pay a monthly subscriptionfor even the smallest subscriber. The deliverability rate of my emails with mailchimp is also commendable. Cons Ooh! The omnivore feature is so annoying! I have literally cried after one of my campaigns was hit. I messaged support and googled all the ways i could be free of the ban to no avail. Support never replied my messages. Pros The best part of this service is the ease of its drag and drop feature that allows you to create newsletters in a snap. The WYSWYG editor is familiar for most and easy to learn with the ability to customize with HTML. It can be as simple or as customized as you want it. Cons They haven't updated their templates in a long time, their focus on trying to be more than a newsletter service is making things a little complicated, and automation is unnecessarily complex. It took a few weeks of emails to get the hang of the functions, but now that I know where to go, I can create emails quickly and efficiently. I also like UI/UX of MailChimp, which is clean, simple and friendly. The language is fun but not overly cutesy, which is the tone de jour of software lately. The reporting and analytics are simple to read and understand, and I can send the reports to stakeholders quickly via email, so they have access. I love that they have integration with many of the popular CRMS. I haven't yet had a chance to dig into the more advanced features, but I'm eager to use the landing page options as well as social media integration. They also have a lot of helpful how-tos, and their customer support was quick and helpful. Of course, the low pricetag is a huge selling point for folks with limited marketing budgets. Easy to import merge and manage new contacts, which is helpful, and pretty straightforward. Pros It's free, relatively staightforward to use. They don's constantly revamp their interface, which means everything is where you left it if you only use it every 2-4 months Cons Many of my marketing emails end up going to junk, especially with gmail addressees. I have about a 1400 client list and send out about 5 or so emails a year, so I am in no way spamming people. I seems like something must be going on with how mailchimp and gmail interact, because I have people who want to get my marketing, and don't because gmail defaults it totheir junk mail. And this is coming from a real domain name and email, not some made up thing. In that way, I had better results when I just did a mail merge through Outlook/Word. People say the reason to use Mailchimp is because of the marketing/tracking features, but for me, I don't really need/use those features.
