The price is pretty affordable as it's free for your first few thousand subscribers. It's not easy for people who are not tech literate, and it takes a while to find your way around. At the same time, this is the number one software I recommend to my clients as it is relatively user friendly. However, if you have a larger mailing list, you want to do more advanced email marketing and create advanced funnels, this isn't the software for you. Pros I like that it's pretty user friendly and easy to show to newbies how to use. It works well for people who "can't do technology", and ideal for small business owners who want to communicate with their clients/customers. It's used by most of my friends and colleagues who are coaches, workshop leaders and other small business owners. I like how easily it integrates with other software and with WordPress. Cons It's not always clear how to use it, which is why you need to be able to Google for solutions. Not everyone thinks to do this and then think Mailchimp is too complicated! Also, I don't like how you can only send an email or landing page to a specific list, which can be confusing. I would like to see more customizable templates offered too. It's very good in collecting and sending multi-emails. I can send an email campaign to multi members, it saves me a lot of time. When I didn't know about it I have to send every single mail to my member, it took me a lot of time. It's a great free service that I ever know. Cons I have spent a lot of time to learn about it. From my experience, it's not easy to use for everyone for the first time. You need to take the time to learn and test to understand how does it work. I have a problem with mailchimp when I sent multi-email to my members, not all of the emails were delivered. I have to ask my members and then send the email again to them by myself, if they told me they haven't got any email yet. But if they didn't tell me, there is no way for me to know if the emails were delivered or not. That's is a big problem I get from mailchimp. I hope the developers can fix it soon. Pros What I liked most is the ability to create automated campaigns and have the structure visually to see what triggers are being considered. Cons I didn't like the set up of conditions - it seems it's a little complex for what it needs to be, and each time I created a new condition I'd have to look up the definition - it seems like they could use some UI updates (with additions to what each condition actually does once you hover over those options). If, however, you are looking for advanced features such as automation, you may want to look elsewhere. Pros Mailchimp is very easy to use. Its e-mail builder/editor is perhaps one of the best in the market. In fact, there were times that we would design emails on Mailchimp and "export" the HTML such that we could use it on our website because the tool is so powerful and easy to use. Additionally, the ability to create multi-variate and a/b tests is also very good. This is great so that you can test subject lines or content in an email before you send it out to the entire email list. Cons Our organization is really big into automation. Specifically, we wanted to develop robust funnels in which specific customer activities (E.g. buying a product, visiting a certain page) would trigger them to receive specific emails. Additionally, we needed to connect Mailchimp to some of our other tools, such as Shopify and Facebook Ads. We found that the ability to do such advanced types of work was limited on Mailchimp. And further, we would have had to pay an additional monthly charge in order to use some of those advanced features. As a result, we ended up leaving Mailchimp in favor of another e-mail marketing tool. Review Source Joseph L. I loved the ease of use of Mailchimp. I could import my RSS feed into the service and emails would go out on a regular basis. The rate for the service was fair for the value given. It became unreasonable when Mailchimp raised their rates. The raising of the monthly subscription made me rethink my choice to use Mailchimp and I chose to leave them for a competitor. It lets us measure how interested people are based on the reports of previous campaigns. Pros I’ve used a lot of similar services, but Mailchimp is the best when it comes to interface and user-friendliness. There is a free plan up to 2000 subscribers if you wanna try it. You can do some A/B before actually sending emails. You get statistical reports about how many of your emails have been opened. Cons It does not have an integrated CRM system, nor is it prepared to help you channel your sales. You can use other programs for it, but that means you are using more programs and paying more. Building a newsletter 2-3 times a week is easy, allowing me full control to deliver the sales messages I need to. Cons There is not a lot to dislike. Once you accept the design constraints on the email builder, and work with it, I do not have any complaints. But having said that, these constraints are there for a reason - to ensure emails received through multiple email clients can be read easily without surprises. June 1, 2018 5.0 It's perfect for getting started! And if you don't feel the need to shift to something else, you can use it no matter how big your list becomes. When you start it's free and then the price goes up to about a month but that's after you've reached a threshold where you are busy enough that you are probably making that money back, so they have the perfect pricing model. I use it for newsletter management, auto-responder management, paid sign-up responses, mailing list management, synchronization with WordPress and also PayPal subscription modeling. Pros I love the fact that it's free until you build your list to a point where you can afford to pay for the service. In addition, it does everything that its competitors do without the clunky experience. It's very smooth and constantly being improved. I also love the fact that every step of the way allows me to test an email. Cons There are two things I dislike, but they are not that important. One is how the layout is laid out perfectly for tablets but could be laid out better for desktops. The second is how I always have to take a campaign offline to do any editing. It seems to me that you should be able to make an edit while it's live and then when you publish the change then it overwrites the existing one. This is tremendously beneficial since when you're growing your email list, you don't have enough to justify paying anything. MailChimp also can gives summaries of how your campaign is doing, open rate, click rates, and is all super easy to implement. It's also popular enough that there's a lot of support for it and WordPress / Facebook have ways to integrate with MailChimp to build your list faster and with less effort. I love it. Cons Some elements of campaign generation could be more intuitive than they are. I'm sure some people figure the MailChimp footer having advertisements for MailChimp are annoying (ridiculous people want everything 100% for free). Honestly, there's not much I dislike at this point at all.
