I love that it integrates with Quickbooks to connect my customer list and has segmentation options for retargeting. Pros I love that mail chimp integrates with my quickbooks account making it streamlined to segment my client databased and retarget them accordingly. Cons I think that some of the templates could be more modern some of them feel outdated and limited. I would recommend giving more customization options. Review Source GC George C. I'm a small business owner with specific customers nationwide and it allows me to create professional emails to stay in touch. Pros It works very well. Like all SAS, the free version has some key limits, but it's very versatile for designing, sending, and tracking marketing emails. Exactly what it's supposed to do. Cons Is it fair to criticize a free service? No. What would I like to have access to? The exported contacts to have included the Contact Rating. January 9, 2026 4.0 Mailchimp was easy to configure, use and maintain. It does exactly what we need it to do for our current requirements. We have had no issues with performance or reliability. Pros Mailchimp is easy to use, provides useful automation and supports many integrations. It is great for simple mailouts and the analytic tools are all that most will need. The free plan and low volume is good value. Cons For most of our needs so far, it has been a great solution, but if you want to implement complex solutions, Mailchimp may not support all your requirements, and can become costly. I like that it allows me to reach my followers and encourages me to make better newsletters. Pros Mailchimp is relatively intuitive, and a mostly effective way to keep my audience engaged with my projects. However, most of all I like that Mailchimp has kept a free tier. This allows me to continue to pursue my passion projects without fear of losing audience. The analytics allow me to understand the efficacy of what I’m trying to do a little more, and I’m grateful for them! I also appreciate the tips and tricks built into using it now. Cons It seems to be becoming more cumbersome to use Mailchimp for regular messaging. I understand that it’s trying to be more like a CRM or some other Swiss Army style tool. But this is making it very complicated at times. Again, it is very easy to use and intuitive, and I don't have any issues with freezing up or failing to send out scheduled newsletters. I highly recommend this program for everyone! You can even create questionnaires to mail out. Pros Mailchimp is a very easy to use an intuitive platform that makes it very easy to create our monthly newsletters. Cons I do wish there were more features for creating graphics right in Mailchimp. I can Upload images and do some graphic design with text and colored backgrounds, but it has its limitations. It's easy to set up and import subscribers. While the interface can be a bit confusing, it's not hard to figure out how to do things. Pros It's easy to use and provides a wide variety of tools to help you grow and manage your email list. I like that I can create landing pages and filter signups into groups based on their interests. Cons Because Mailchimp has so many features it can be a bit hard to find what you are looking for sometimes. However, there are a lot of articles in the knowledge database. I don't find their site builder to be as simple to use as what is offered by other email providers. With MailChimp's tracking data and Goggle Analytics we could track bounce back rates, unopened emails and unsubscribes. At first there was great ROI using MailChimp, the ROI has diminished in the last year. Pros Setting up an email campaign is straightforward and easy. Tracking open rates, bounce backs and number of Unsubscribes is built in. Cons More and more people and companies are detecting MailChimp as spam, reducing its effectiveness. There is the larger issue of young people turning away from email as the primary means of communication. MailChimp may do better pivoting marketing campaigns to social media verticals. Pros Mailchimp makes starting out with email marketing extremely simple, it offers tremendous features and templates, and opens up an avenue of marketing with really high ROI. Cons I wish that they gave more reporting and data analysis for the lower tiers of memberships, along with A/B testing. I understand that it does give incentive to move up a tier though.
