Their drag-and-drop email builder is fantastic, plus you get the option of uploading your own HTML code as well. Their campaign reporting is fantastic too. Pros Mailchimp has been around for numerous years and stood the test of time. They fulfil their core service offering, namely email marketing, efficiently & effectively, while still offering a wide range of additional features to enhance the overall functionality of any given email marketing campaign as required. Mailchimp gets the job done. Cons You are no longer able to have separate mailing lists. Mailchimp changed over to a global audience which can only be segmented with the use of tags. It took some getting used to but gets the job done. I would have preferred independent mailing lists based on the objectives of our lead capturing requirements. Pros Mailchimp is an excellent email service provider. I've used a lot of other tools over the years, but none of them perform as well or produce the same aesthetic results as Mailchimp. Furthermore, the audience control function is simple to use and accessible, and its statistics are excellent learning aids. My knowledge with Mailchimp is limited to the email builder, and I haven't used their other marketing services enough to comment on them. Cons Customer service has to be better. MailChimp will be easier to use if customer support tickets are answered quickly. Waiting in a long ticket line for a response to an urgent client demand is aggravating. We wanted to do it quickly and this was the first time I used it. Because it is a easy tool to understand, we sent the survey out the same day. Pros I like the way that is a real user-friendly tool to use. Even when you have no previous experience in using these apps, the tool is easy to understand and use. Cons A lot of tools do need an upgrade before you can make use of it normally, this is here not the case. However, when you want to use this app within a webpage e.g. SurveyMonkey is displayed too much in my opinion. I know that they have to do that in order to market, but it would be nice to do less. Mailchimp offers pre-made templates if you are not sure what you want your layout to look like. Cons Not as customizable as some of its competitors unless you know HTML. Some of the templates just don't work for what I need to help promote the business and they are just one note (pretty plain). Needs to be more more mobile friendly, especially with their templates. The mobile app is okay but not easy to use if I need to make an edit on the go. My emails are now fully automated and I don't have to worry about anything. Just set up initial email and that, of course, is time-consuming, but once it is set up properly it is really a time saver. Pros MailChimp allows me to collect subscribers from my website and send automated emails to them such as RSS feed email which are sent whenever there is a new post on my blog. You can also set up some serious automation for email sending. I like to use custom fields to create personalized emails so my customers always feel like this email is sent only for them because there will be no usual phrase like hello everybody or something like that. It will be hello Anna. And you can, even more, customize every email you sent and sign up forms to your liking. I love to send birthday cards and include some discount or even a gift. MailChimp allows me to do that automatically so I don't need to remember all these birthdays. Cons Sometimes images from RSS feed are not fetched good and this is resulting in broken image and link to broken web page. I think that this is some incompatibility from my side because on my page I am using a bunch of plugins but I haven't got time to test out what exactly is incompatible. Also, their email editor is kinda sluggish and missing some features. I will say that when I did contact customer support they were very friendly and knowledgable. The free option is great for those just starting out. The paid options are a good value for the money, although a bit expensive. Pros Mailchimp has an easy-to-use and self-explanatory editor. A beginner in sending email campaigns will be able to understand the system relatively easy. It's a good value for the money, especially the free plan. Access to everything on the site is available even on the free plan. I chose to use the pay-as-you-go plan. It worked well for me until I found another system that was cheaper. Mailchimp provides informative analytics with each option, which is really helpful. It integrates well with many other programs and apps. Cons The editor has basic templates and editing abilities. The price plans can be confusing at first. It can get expensive the more you increase your subscribers, as you have to pay for each one, even duplicates. There is no telephone customer support. If you're in the middle of editing a campaign and have a question, you can't pick up the phone and get immediate help. The only way to communicate with customer support is by email. Pros It is a tool that I highly recommend for mail marketing, it is excellent to be always mounted in the wave of marketing, projecting your business and your product, plus it has a very interesting freemium version since it allows sending up to 12,000 emails a month to a total of 2,000 subscribers, this allows you to browse the tool and learn how to use it and know if it is what you are looking for, in terms of design offers three options: an interface from which you can go dragging modules to go composing the email, a catalog with variety of templates or import your own code, it really is a good option to get started in these types of tools or if you have already used them you can take it as a good alternative. Cons Some of the most interesting options are only available in the paid version as autoresponders to automate shipments or the analysis of your followers to know what is the best time to make the shipment, this one of the best features it offers.
