It gave me all the tools I needed to manage my campaigns while selling my online courses and managing my audience and current students. Pros Mailchimp is mostly user-friendly, and it tracks all the data I need to have control over which content is working or which is not. I also appreciate their aesthetic and the illustrations that they change up. Pros After Mailchimp added email marketing automation to all levels of users, there was no competition for it. I've used many other email marketing platforms, and it is by far the most user friendly. It allows me to easily make and modify emails. Some of my favorite features: - Automated emails for different content marketing campaigns - Link checker (this feature has saved me from huge mistakes) - Ease of sending test emails to colleagues/clients Cons I do wish it were easier to track whether a specific individual opened an automated emails. I think it's a great way to get started when you have zero budget and a small database, and to grow things from there. This is the tool I used to get started and allowed me to get started in the emailing field. The reporting metrics are of great use as the allow you to take decisions based on your email performance. Cons Back in the day when I started, it was not very clear how to setup your first emailing. For beginners the differences between campaigns, lists, templates and metrics may be a bit overwhelming. It enables me to reach out to our subscribers, deliver our message, and get the data we need to improve what we do and to improve our relationship with our audience. Pros I am not the creative type of person to be doing outreach or newsletter for a business but Mailchimp makes it so easy for me. It is such a great help, they provide templates, examples of what other people have done, images, GIFs (I love being able to put GIFs on my work!) and everything else that my limited imagination is not capable of doing. I also am able to get data from every campaign I send and it helps me to improve our relationship with our audience and to improve what we do. Cons I can't really think of anything that I do not like about Mailchimp. Things have been great every time I use it. I just wish I had more time to do more. You have to accept that there will be some missing features if you are using the free version and for me the features are great. The features improve quite a lot when you play for the software and I have been quite happy using both the versions. Pros Comes with many plugins, is super easy to use and comes with a free plan. Extensive documentation which helps out when ever something is unknown. Cons The pricing plan is a little difficult for me to understand. Also report generating is not the best when using the lowest priced plan. I have the ability to check email faster and help more people. Pros Mandrill is great to backtrack on emails that my company has sent out. We have the ability to view if the email was delivered, bounced, and how many times it has been sent + opened and clicked on. The features of mandrill are great for the company because we rely heavily on mandrill in order to see that. Cons At this moment, I can't think of a negative effect of mandrill. I recommend it to any and all small businesses. Pros Mailchimp is incredibly easy to use. Its easy to get started using the software with the UI requiring no work to understand. Also, with a great free plan with a solid contact limit, its the best option for small businesses just getting started. Cons Mailchimp, although working on this, isn't as full-throated a solution as HubSpot or Salesforce. This is mostly because it is aimed at a different market segment. Being able to integrate with the other tools like SurveyMonkey is seamless and allows for ease of use between multiple platforms. This has become a necessary tool in many ways, not just another piece of software. Pros There is so much available for free with this software, it's incredible. I use this with a number of organizations to manage mailing lists and sign up forms. Being able to see reports, past campaigns, group together subscribers in multiple ways, managing attachments and files, and being able to apply integrations with other software and services are all huge bonuses. Clients like it because it is famous with an easy to remember and friendly name. They like the fact that it is free for basic usage. It's not an all-singing-all-dancing sales pipeline or campaign management service, but - as a designer and a director - it's nice to have something that simply does it's job easily and well. Pros I like that it is easy to use. It's branding, user interface and user experience design are all engineered to be clear and plain and self explanatory. I like that you can can easily create an email and easily send it to who ever you want. How well that email is written or designed and how your email list was created in the first place is completely up to the user— but MailChimp provides good base-level easy-to-use mail service functionality. Also I like that so many other platforms and services integrate with it quite easily. Wordpress, for example. A very popular platform that can be tied to a MailChimp account without requiring the services of a specialist developer. Cons Perhaps that the email builder is a little clunky.. ambiguous or.. basic? It's very good, very quick and produces emails that work in many many email clients— it's just perhaps a little too basic at times?Maybe also that our agency's account managers and our clients often demand a little more than MailChimp can offer - more pipelines, more accountability, more tracking and more automation. Pros I began using Mailchimp a few years ago because the tedium of building emails was overwhelming. I needed a simile template that could easily be edited to suit my needs. Mailchimp makes it easy for me to keep my clients aware of what is happening as well as helping me to make sure that my emails are getting to people who will actually read them. I am able to archive unsubscribed users and keep track of opens, click links and more. Cons The mobile app isn't as functional as I would like it to be. I have to have two apps in order to effectively manage emails and campaigns. I also wish that the free use extended beyond 2000 emails. November 21, 2018 4.0 I've been using MailChimp with a few churches that have relatively small lists and qualify for the free plan. This is a great solution for them as they're able to produce high-quality emails for free. I've also used MailChimp for a company that manages several client email lists. In that situation, it does work well, although we've had a few issues with MailChimp blocking particular lists although the client has said that they've used the same list in MailChimp. Pros I love the drag and drop interface that allows you to assemble mobile friendly layouts quickly. It's convenient to be able to have multiple users on one account. Cons I wish there was a little more flexibility in some of the components--for example, it would be nice to be able to make a 2-line button, or to be able to better control the mobile layout vs. email client layout. There are some other tools that might be fuller and with more features, but if you want to stick to simple and easy, absolutely go with MailChimp. Also, it is almost guaranteed that they won't have any system problem, have worked with it and have had just one bug once. Basically flawless. Pros It is super easy to use, basically, you select what you want to send, click a button and all the work is done. Besides that, the metrics are one of the features that I enjoy the most as I can track the user experience and upgrade it in the future if I see that something is not working well. Cons It is a little bit complex to insert live apps or media in any of the mails. I mean live social media such as Tiktoks, live twitter or live Facebook. It is a plus for any mail to add these kinds of features as technology is being updated every day and inserting this kind of extra is always a plus for any mass mail delivery system. Reason for choosing Mailchimp Because Tralix is more complex software. It is way too difficult to manage, while MailChimp is easy and reliable. We use Mailchimp just as a little extra for our customers, so we really don´t want to spend that much time using super complex software to send massive mailing. It doesn't take much time to create the email & test it - once you have your content & have an idea of how you want the email to look. The scheduler is a nifty feature - easy to use & very useful. Importing of contacts and segments the lists is very easy. Cons List management features are missing - the ability to classify contacts in lists & moving them into different lists based on their behaviour is not easy to do.
