Pros It allows me to easily organize my emails and create successful campaigns. Mailchimp is an email marketing platform that offers a variety of features, including easy-to-use templates, automation features, in-depth analytics, and integrations with multiple platforms. Cons The downside of Mailchimp is that it can't tag contacts based on their actions in emails. For example, if someone opens an email you sent through Mailchimp, they cannot be marked as "opened" or "unsubscribed". It has allowed us to get information out in a brand-conscious, nicely formatted fashion. We only use it for mass emails, it does not solve acknowledgement processing other one-constituent email transactions. Pros Simple yet fairly powerful editing tools for email building (drag and drop blocks) but still have the ability to tweak some HTML if needed (Some occasional glitches when adding images to text blocks.) Mostly consistent look across email clients (gmail can cause issues). Decent analytical information on opens, click rate, and other activity. AB testing support (although we have not used it.) Integration with CRM system (currently using NEON), although unsubscribes and bounces are not returned to CRM. Freemium plan was well worth it! We've been paid customers for several years now and find the price a little high as we gain users (small nonprofit), but still within budget. Ability to schedule emails helps (for those of us who work late at night but don't want to send a blast at midnight!) Cons Need more free templates or better ability to make changes to templates. Some limitations on layout design options. Emails go to "Promotions" folder, particularly for gmail users (although hard to avoid), so cannot guarantee receipt. Recent changes to interface have taken lots of time to get used to and do not seem to be an improvement. Reason for choosing Mailchimp We didn't really investigate Constant Contact or other competitors, as we were already familiar with MailChimp from other organizations. We did originally send email blast from our CRM (NEON) but the editing capabilities were no-where near on par with MailChimp. We can integrate social media account for running social media campaigns. Cons We can only send email using this tool. It has a very efficient contact list management. Totally manageable data. It has a very interesting feature: When sending an email, it analyzes why an account does not receive the sent message and if it determines that the account does not exist or was deleted, it automatically deletes it from the list. Export and import contact very easily. It also allows joining one or more lists. Each mail is called Campaigns. These campaigns are totally configurable through a very intuitive and easy-to-use graphical interface. In addition, you can copy a previous campaign and send it again with the changes you want, in case you decide. A few weeks ago they included the option of resending campaigns to accounts that did not open the mail. Function that allows our reading statistics. The free version is a very good initial step to know the tool. It has no restrictions, only the number of subscribers you have in your contact lists. Cons It is a very complete tool. The only thing that I would ask you to improve is the use of other languages, both in the tool and in your user manuals and the possibility of issuing more configurable reports. We send out multiple newsletters to our teachers in our program and this helps us to provide official and professional communication easily. Cons When you copy and paste from excel or sheets into the campaign editor it inserts these lines all around the email that you then have to go into the code to find and delete the source issue. I also wish there was an undo button when editing! The audience database is clunky and very difficult to manage. The way it is organized is not intuitive for the manner in which we use the service. I am able to create customized, professional email campaigns and easily send those to my customers. I can then track those campaigns and see what the customers think of each part of the campaign and which links that they click on. The analytics are perfect for being able to see what is working best when communicating with our customers. MailChimp makes it super easy to be able to get customers to sign up for newsletters, and to be able to view and edit any email addresses and customer information that we may need. Pros Firstly, Sending email postcards is a great way to put out a quick announcement, and look good doing it. There are a whole bunch of useful functions for doing business online. Everything is in one place, so it's easier than doing all of this separately. You can create landing pages, which is key if you want to have an easily manageable campaign. The integration with Instagram and Facebook makes it even easier to have a seamless campaign, once again, everything is in the same place. You can also have integration with Google Ads and I really like that feature, CTA all day! Cons Look, some people complain about being called spam and that's because they are LOL I never had that problem, so there. I definitely recommend it for new businesses who are still trying to figure out what they need and how to use different options. Pros The free plan pretty much covers everything you need to get started as a new business. You can host a large amount of leads for free, but you are limited as to what you can do with them. In addition to that, the email templates and the various integrations worked well for what I used it for. There is an extensive knowledge base with lots of good information, when you need a low level of support. If you don't want to pay monthly, you can opt to buy credits and pay for the service as you use it. This came in handy when I was confused about what I needed. This allows you to test each plan. Cons The menus are not intuitive. I had a hard time navigating and finding the options that I needed. It almost feels like the options were not where they would be expected to be. Also, Mailchimp does not encourage multiple lists. They prefer you segment and tag your contacts, which is fine unless you need to see the numbers at a glance. You'd have to search through them and try to isolate specific tags that you're trying to reach. You are limited as to how many emails you can send per month based on the plan you choose.
