“Additionally, even though you might have a perfectly scrubbed mailing list that you obtained over years personally via a dedicated website, after completing hours and perhaps days of work building campaigns and templates, on the initial "send" of your very first email, your account could be suspended indefinitely for no specific given reason - a suspension so serious that it cannot be appealed. “

### "Chimp Does the Heavy Lifting"

March 2, 2026

4.0

Very positive overall. reliable, intuitive, and well-suited for what we do. So long as you don't create newsletters (as an example) that are overly long and have too much content, the ROI can be good. Drilling down on users is important to me to see who is clicking and reading what.

Pros

The dashboard is really easy to use and the templates are pretty good. One of the big plusses is mailchimp canva integration. Pricing is reasonable for what you are getting. The mobile versions of the emails sometimes are different form on-screen.

Cons

There are WP integration security issues that have come up by my hosting provider. While I keep all my software up-to-date, I have to keep scanning/repair software running in the background at all times. Sometimes verifying a website can be a process. An easier solution would be nice, ie: verifying website by email address only.

### "Why Mailchimp is a win for small nonprofits!"

March 9, 2026

4.0

For small nonprofits, Mailchimp works well because it is designed for simple email newsletters, announcements, and community updates rather than ecommerce marketing. It is easier for small teams or volunteers to use and typically offers more affordable pricing for smaller contact lists. In contrast, some competitors are built for data-driven ecommerce marketing, which most nonprofits do not need.

Pros

I used Mailchimp for several years for several non profit clients that I service from a marketing perspective. I found it works very well for my smaller non profits because it is easier to navigate. There are so many drop and drag templates that help them with their messaging. It also is more cost effective then some of the other options.

Cons

A drawback of using Mailchimp is that it offers less advanced data tracking and segmentation compared to platforms. This can make it harder to personalize communications based on supporter behavior or engagement. However, this is for advanced communications which many small nonprofits do not need.

### "Yes, it sends emails.. for an increasing fee each month—with minimal value add over time. "

February 25, 2026

3.0

Overall I think Mailchimp is an adequate, yet outdated tool. It sends emails. It manages contacts and lead flows. That's about it which is frustrating for the price and poor customer support.

Pros

I like that it does what it was designed to do: send emails. I think it has strong value in the area of spam filtering as emails typically land in-inbox. It is also quite easy to use. When you are trying to do A/B testing or manage lead flows, it is effective in that area.

Cons

Customer support is lacking, especially on free plans. You wait in long queues often for subpar support. The user interface is bleak and that's largely due to lack of features. Contact management is difficult. The price constantly increases without additional features or value. Definitely not worth the extreme cost.

### "Easy to use Newsletter Software"

March 5, 2026

5.0

I've been using Mailchimp for years. Its easy to use. Probably the easiest newsletter tool I've used over the years. Its easy to send test messages and schedule a send.

Pros

Its so easy to use. Just drag and drop. Its easy to add photos, text boxes and I like the template options that make it easy to create and not start from scratch.

Cons

The price has gone up over the years, making it a little less affordable for small businesses. Sometimes, I click on a box in the newsletter to change the text and have to remember to go to the right side to edit the text.

### "Mailchimp a reliable marketing platform"

March 24, 2026

5.0

Overall we are very happy with mailchimp, the platform offers everything that we need and the price is fair and the use of the platform it is very easy to use and we can teach the rest of the team fairly quick.

Pros

From the very beginning the team was very proactive and care about our needs and propose realistic plan on how can we succeed.

Cons

I would say that the platform itself there are certain features that needs to be updated as to gather some data requires some manual effort

### "Simple and economical "

March 19, 2026

4.0

I’ve used this service for years. Simple to use, I can make emails to my customers as fancy or basic as I like. Love being able to copy and edit previous campaigns so that I’m not always starting from scratch.

Pros

Love that I can use a free account for my small business. As the business grows, I’ll want to expand to different email lists, which is an option with the paid account.

Cons

I need to flip back and forth between the app and the online version to use all of the email creation tools. Not sure why they’re not all available in one place.

### "Email Marketing Made Simple"

February 25, 2026

5.0

Solid and reliable. It’s a platform that makes email marketing accessible while still offering enough depth for more strategic campaigns.

Pros

You can build professional-looking campaigns fast even if you’re not a designer or tech expert. The drag-and-drop editor is intuitive, and templates make it easy to stay on-brand

Cons

some features are locked behind higher-tier plans. You might start on a basic plan thinking it covers your needs, then realize segmentation, advanced reporting, or certain automation flows require an upgrade.

### "Perfect, easy-to-use tool for beginners and small businesses!"

March 1, 2026

4.0

Overall, it's been a fantastic experience. It was the perfect tool to help me launch my small business marketing campaigns, and it integrates seamlessly with my website.

Pros

Pros: What did you like most about Mailchimp? I absolutely love the drag-and-drop email builder and the huge variety of pre-made templates. It makes it incredibly simple for someone without coding experience to create professional-looking newsletters. The user interface is very clean and intuitive.

Cons

The pricing jumps quite a bit once you pass the free tier limits. Also, figuring out the difference between tags, segments, and groups for contact management took a little bit of a learning curve at first.

Review Source

Response from Intuit

March 2, 2026

Hi Kazi! Thank you so much for the kind words about our builder and templates, we’re thrilled to be part of your small business journey. We hear you on the learning curve for contact management, so here’s a quick way to keep them straight: think of Tags as internal labels you assign to people (like "Local Customer"), Groups as categories your subscribers can choose for themselves on your forms (like "Monthly Newsletter"), and Segments as dynamic filters that automatically pull people into a list based on their behavior, such as whether they’ve opened your last three emails. While we know the pricing jump as you grow can be a big step, we’re committed to providing the advanced tools and integrations you need to make that growth worth it. We’re so glad everything is syncing up perfectly with your website, and we can’t wait to see your next campaign!

### "Solid Email Marketing Platform"

December 4, 2025

4.0

My overall experience is that Mailchimp works well for most SMB needs as long as you accept that it still requires some IT oversight. Once it is set up, day to day usage is smooth and marketing teams rarely need help for basic tasks. The issues usually come from scaling, integrations, and access control needs that go beyond simple campaign work. I do not have to put out fires often, but I do find myself checking in on sync jobs, cleaning up lists, and helping troubleshoot confusing warnings. It is a dependable tool for regular email work, but it has gaps that keep it from feeling fully hands off.

Pros

Mailchimp by Intuit is simple for end users to understand, which makes my job easier as an IT Specialist supporting a few hundred staff. The interface is clean and most marketing tasks can be handled without IT stepping in. Setting up campaigns, basic automation, and list management is straightforward, and the reporting tools give marketing enough insight without constant requests. The system is stable, and the integrations that do work well tend to stay consistent once configured. For an SMB that needs a dependable email tool without heavy technical lift, it provides a solid foundation.

Cons

Mailchimp starts to feel limited once you want more control or structure around how teams use it. User management lacks depth and SSO can feel clunky to configure and maintain. Some integrations fail quietly which turns troubleshooting into guesswork. Pricing can climb quickly if list hygiene is not maintained, and IT often ends up cleaning up lists after the fact. Automation works but starts to feel dated when compared to tools that offer deeper branching or logic. Deliverability issues crop up at times with very little detail to work with, which makes it harder to support in a business environment.

Alternatives considered

[Brevo](https://www.capterra.com/p/132996/brevo/)

Reason for choosing Mailchimp

We chose Mailchimp over Brevo because Mailchimp is easier for non technical staff to use, has a cleaner interface, and fits our existing workflows with less admin overhead.

I have used Mailchimp for years, and I find it an incredibly useful tool for email blasts, newsletters, etc.

Pros

Cons

### "One of the most complete email marketing solutions, at a price"

October 4, 2025

3.0

Several years as agency making email campaigns from customers' lists for the automotive industry in Europe.

Pros

One of the most reliable email marketing platforms, with a lot of years in the business. They also have the Mandrill service for transactional emails. Lots of tools, integrations...

Cons

For agencies, they forced that the pre-paid credits expire in a year, and the list plans aren't worth the money unless you send a lot of frequent mails. If you send campaings from time to time to different customers, unless your volume is huge, fees make it unpayable. If you are an end user, then the story is different and prices will make more sense (maybe that's their idea of customers right now).

### "Great Email Marking Tool, But Can Seem OVerwhelming"

May 13, 2025

5.0

I like Mailchimp because I have a lot of email marketing and web design experience and I find it very straight forward and easy to use. So many different kinds of campaigns can be created and you can integrate it with third party systems.

Pros

Mailchimp is affordable and offers to many tools to help small business owners market themselves.

Cons

It can be overwhelming for someone who is not familiar with email campaigns to use this system. There are a lot of steps to go through to set-up a campaign properly & effectively. You may need to hire someone to manage it for you.

### "Easy to get started on a free plan, but beware the limitations"

December 28, 2025

5.0

Happy with my choice for getting started in email automation. However, it really needs the paid plan. At that point, I would carefully consider which features are actually needed and maybe make a more rational choice of cost, plan, and features

Pros

Features are fairly good and easy to get started. It's intuitive to create messages - nice builder for designing mails. Plenty of analytics available and advice too

Cons

takes quite a bit of getting used to create a first audience and distribution list and the first templates. Free Plan is okay but quickly hit limitations in terms of numbers of emails and unlocking the templates

### "A little harder. A lot better."

October 20, 2025

5.0

There is a decent learning curve, but our team seems to have the system down now. We have explored the SMS integration a bit, but use it primarily as our email engine for our church subscribers.

Pros

Mailchimp has beautiful templates, as well as the ability to reuse past campaigns (emails) as a template. It's a bit more complicated than sending a simple email, but the end result is much more attractive. Also also love the integration into our website for others to subscribe on their own!

Cons

There is no "just send a quick email to a designated list" option. I can email a draft to the system to import it into the body of a template, but I still have to set like 12 other things to get it sent to my audience.

### "Great system for newsletters and eCommerce emails"

August 30, 2025

4.0

For email marketing services it works great, for eCommerce it’s even better as the revenue tracking works very good, compared to other systems. It’s easy to set up, plan newsletters, automate cart emails, and workflows.

Pros

It’s very easy to use and and it’s available for integration in the most common type of website CMS, such as Wordpress, Shopify, and square space. The integrations are usually super simple and gives a great use for data management.

Cons

It works great for what it was built for, the reason I have switched afterward to other systems it’s because of the need of CRM and not just an email marketing service. So, what I like the least, would be the lack of CRM features that could be added such as a sales pipeline, or sales activity logs.

I have used Mailchimp for years now for my coaching business and I am extremely happy. It is the only service I recommend to my clients to help them connect with their database. And I love how easy it is to create landing pages for my lead magnets! A+++++

Pros

Cons

### "Mailchimp: EDM's made easy!"

January 19, 2026

4.0

Overall, Mailchimp is a fantastic EDM software with plenty of options for being creative, but also has premade templates to make the process of making a campaign easy and quick. Whilst it does have some cons, its pros outshine them!

Pros

Mailchimp offers a great way to market our conferences, from registration dates to sponsorship opportunities. The UI is very easy to follow, clean and everything is grouped together in a way that makes sense. The ability to schedule the emails has been a game-changer for weekend deadlines and when things fall on holidays.

Cons

The ability to save a copy of audience data before deleting audiences could be slightly faster and easier to do; it feels like it takes a while to do this, especially when you have 50+ audiences. We are also experience some issues with the button shapes not always saving when sending an EDM.

Pros

Behavior‑driven flows greeted new leads, nudged abandoned applications, and followed up after an event, so teams sent fewer and had more time optimizing message timing and content.

Pros

Customer journeys, segmentation, and A/B testing make targeting easier, drag-and-drop builders and integrations maintain campaign consistency and ease of use across applicant, parent, and partner lists with minimal design effort.

Cons

Pricing increases with contacts and features, advanced automation is on higher tiers, and support quality fluctuates during busy periods, so budgeting and timely campaign repairs are challenging.
