Pros: We like that we can view all of our jobs and theya re sorted by easy to navigate categories. Inputting information is simple.

Cons: There are frequent drop outs and it can be annoying having to individually add locations when you can't select multiple items at one time.

Cons: When you try to find an address, it shows up and then disappears. You have to then get out of the work order and start again. This happens quite often.
Sometimes, when you are busy, it slows right down.
Sometimes, it will just stop and a window will pop up asking you what you were doing. This is infuriating when you are trying to talk to a tenant and have entered a lot of info, only to find you have to start all over again.
I find I don't trust the programme, I make sure I write everything down and then enter it into the programme after the phone call is over. This is a waste of time, but I find I have lost work so often that I do it as a matter of course
The Description gets lost a lot. I make sure I copy the description every time, because if I don't, that'll be the time that it gets lost.

Overall: I feel that the programme is fragile. It slows down to a crawl sometimes, which is very frustrating when there are people waiting on the line. I find the navigation down the form could be improved, as the scroll bar doesn't work very well.

Recommendations to other buyers: I know this programme does more than just record and send work orders, however, I have used other programmes that manage rent rolls and send work orders that are much more user friendly and faster to use and on the whole don't lose the information just entered on a regular basis as this one does.

Pros: It has desktop and mobile apps.

Cons: The mobile app is extremely limited in its capability.

Overall: Loc8 can be frustrating due to the fact that work order disappear from the app as soon as they go into 'Completed'. Their should be the option to 'hide' a work order once it's completed. This makes it very difficult for a supervisor to monitor jobs on the road and you have to log on through a third party flash browser app, or take your laptop with you everywhere. The sub-contractor desktop dashboard is not as detailed as the supervisor's desktop dashboard which also makes finding details difficult for them. Does have some good features, but the frustrations out-do the positives unfortunately.

Recommendations to other buyers: May be good for certain companies and situations. Would definitely need to be reviewed for use on a case by case basis.

Comments: We use Loc8 to manage a large scale government Facility Management contract that commenced in April 2016. I have found the team at Loc8 very professional and accommodating to work with during our customisation process for integration with our client's IT Systems.

The Loc8 interface is extremely user friendly and the service stability is very good.

There are still some features to be added to Loc8 in the coming months that will further enhance our ability to administer the contract. We are very much looking forward to enhanced reporting functionality and moving to HTML, which will allow our field staff to operate the full interface of Loc8 on a tablet.

The Customer Support provided is excellent, any critical issues are always addressed promptly.

We are looking forward to working further with the Loc8 team to develop features that will be beneficial to both parties. Overall we are very happy with our investment.

Overall: Good features but needs to be much more user friendly. Software needs to be easy enough for a first time user to grasp without the need for extensive training.

Overall: This could be a great tool if it worked & you could use it when required I know that the connection is not really Loc8 problem but use another provider or network

Comments: Loc8 is easy to use in general however greater access ie: mirror the desk top version would be a great advantage. Detaching photos from orders owned by others on a mobile device would save a trip into the office to access a desk top. Or relying on another staff member to dettach and send via email. .Since the new installation of ISO 10 loc8 will not hold preference settings ie priority /selecting all orders each time you close the app you always start from the beginning and often takes longer to load each time. Seem to be have more issues with logging on, more ISP issues?

Comments: I understand that this software is in development and my comments are based on its current format. To manage maintenance today life cycles are critical unless I have missed it residual life, failure codes or condition reporting is not included . When someone is starting out you need as much out of the system as possible so work orders inventory and its control PO system not reliant on having another account. Might be worth making some comparison. We do not need a comprehensive system, but it should allow a company to follow the path to ISO 55000

Pros: Getting jobs is quicker than on paper.

Cons: It boots me out a lot and deletes my user details.

Overall: It crashes less these days but still frequently goes back into job cards after I have gone back out to the list. It has server connection issues a lot but that could be due to the country I am in.

Recommendations to other buyers: The ability to group jobs by address would be great for multiple jobs for the same address.

Pros: The ability to show when particular equipment is moved from one location to another. The ability to produce work orders.

Cons: Nothing negative so far.

Overall: We are still at the implementation stage of using Loc8 but I can see the benefit this software will have for our company. Loc8 is a great tool for equipment tracking and asset management.

Recommendations to other buyers: We are only at the implementation stage so it is hard to comment on this until it is put into use.

Pros: Different filters to find exactly what you want/need

Cons: Sometime very slow and needs to be closed and rebooted

Overall: For all the filters you can use to find things you need its a great program, the use of the enter button instead of the Apply button would be nice though.
The program has it's up's and down's has a tenancy to be Slowca8 sometimes at least once a day it has to be rebooted.
But for the most part it's practical for what we need it for.

Recommendations to other buyers: When you type in a Work order or site etc you have to hit apply with your mouse, being able to hit enter as you are already on the key board typing would be good

Pros: Easy to navigate

Overall: Overall Loc8 is a easier app to navigate once I had a few goes at it. There are some issues at times where the app shuts down midway through inputting data and the ability to search by the serial number of an item would be helpful, currently I only know how to search by the barcode/id #, if the item I have lost its barcode I have to input it as a new item which then doubles up that item on the register. Also if I am in an area with no mobile reception and creating a new item and task I can't access the area to input the whole description of that item in "view". Other than those issues I like the app.

Cons: touchy paging down on some screens

Overall: Loc8 is a very useful tool. Still needs some tweaking but very valuable in assisting in regular maintenance and asset listing

Comments: We got some support, tried to configure for a pilot run but instead pivoted. To be brutal, support provided was a veiled attempt to hook a sale. The UI is great but user experience poor because it's not intuitive.

Pros: Apparent comprehensiveness of the functionality of the software.

Cons: I think that the Help documentation could be a little more thorough

Overall: Introduced to Loc8 when both maintenance team members were off sick. I was able to pick up the basics in a short time frame. There is obviously some fantastic functionality within the software - just need to the time to learn.

Pros: The accuracy and consistency

Cons: The captured new asset is still confusing and not really understanding how to capture new asset properly

Overall: It's easy to use and also time saving on jobs just asset capturing is still a bit grey on how to put information of items on as a new asset but the system is extremely good

Pros: The link it will have to our system. It will take away a lot of man hours and manual updates. It will save time.

Cons: That it has taken a while to be up and running to its full potential.

Overall: I don't doubt that this program will be a good resource for our techs to use, however it has taken a while to get up and running! There has been issues getting it set up to work a certain way for our company, but i believe it will be a handy tool when it is working smoothly.

Comments: I'm an iPhone 5 user. The main problem I found was the when trying to move from Mobile Data to Wi-fi or the vice versa. The save username and database domain name gets disappeared and requires a full mobile restart to get it back again or need to type the whole lot. Typing the username and password is Ok, but the domain name is annoying.
I think that is something to do with retrieving data from database. Quiet often I login and logout but the initial hurdle to get pass always annoys me.

Overall: I am only using the free version, so great value and unbelievable customer response time (do you guys ever sleep? :-)
I definitely would like to see some improvements in functionality :
1) the ability to change job priority after creating the job
2) the ability to add or modify the job priority system/scheme
3) the response time is very very laggy ... it takes too long for the screen to update after you do something
4) even for the free version, why not let a user select from a drop down Corrective or Preventive maint,
5) reporting features could be enhanced (more custom reporting would be nice)

Comments: I work off a Tablet & the screen does not rotate! Notes only hold 120 characters. We need to hold more ! ! My trades have limited notes when they carry out the tasks and it chews up my time emailing and calling them to complete the tasks correctly and in turn they are required to return to the property using more of their time.

Comments: An unnecessarily complicated and user unfriendly piece of software. The mobile app was promising, but then, hold up, we are told you can't enter defects with it! The amount of man hours staff have wasted trying to grapple with this software's many foibles and trying to get the thing to sync must be absolutely astronomical! I have never heard one positive comment about this software from field or office staff.

Comments: I think once all the bugs are fixed Loc8 will work for our business. Currently it is only able to preform half the job we anticipated. It is creating a mountain of overflow work as our Techs are not able to add new assets, this is a huge administration expense.

Comments: Generally the experience has been good. This is the first time I have used Loc8, so I would never create negative comments until I have generated more time in the program. I have been on the system since April and we have changed some of our work structure. At times we find the system to be slow, but with upgrades Loc 8 has provided a good response. I feel sure as this Company progresses with this contract, and our training moves forward I will be a competent user of Loc 8.

Comments: We have a dozen devices with Loc8, many with multiple daily jobs, so we have a very good feel about the software.
I suppose accountability is the big plus for with photos and comments our admin certainly knows what is happening, in real time.
The one problem we gave us when there are several different jobs in one work order which often is completed by different teams .... ie fencing and clearing fencing line( trees etc) are done separately. Because we cannot access charges our end of Loc8 we end up doing a lot of manual book work which in today's world shouldn't happen.
We have approached you about this but result.
We have also enquired about our own Loc8 for work other than HNZ .... we still wait after 2 years

Comments: I've used Loc8 v3 for over 4 years and implemented it into the company I currently work for. Please note; I've not tried Loc8 v4 so I'm not sure how many issues have now been addressed and new features added.

Firstly, it depends what you want out of a system and want suits your company. If you're looking to just log engineering time against work orders and schedule works, then Loc8 has pretty good features in this area. However, if you're looking to accurately control and report on SLAs for HelpDesk tickets, then there are multiple weaknesses that will cause you to struggle unless your teams happen to update everything in real time 24/7.

Pros:
- Extensive asset management
- Detailed field service reporting (normal / overtime hours, travel time and distance)
- Large selection of columns to customize views
- Strong task / sub-task customization (e.g. checkboxes etc.)

Cons:
- Not very user friendly - can be time consuming completing basic tasks, especially when system is slow
- Not possible to assign normal working week / hours (other than normal / overtime hours, but this purely works out cost not SLA)
- Not able to report on SLA clock stopped duration or retrospectively update HelpDesk tickets
- Different mobile version for engineers that is far less detailed and functions differently. Regular problems with syncing and engineers losing data (e.g. field service reports)
- Despite having decent task / sub-task configuration, it's not possible to print a completed work order to show ticked checkboxes for example, only blank versions to for handwritten. Same goes for signatures.
- Exports are limited to 5000 rows of data - makes it either impossible or extremely time consuming to conduct decent reporting
- Pricing model based on license per user and is not particularly cheap. There are better models out there such as cost based on end user domains so everyone in a whole company can have access under one license
- Customer support in UK when Loc8 UK existed was pretty strong (very good community page), but this has since been disbanded and simplest requests required extensive chasing
- Customer Portal lacks customization to fully lock down potential sensitive information such as internal email correspondence. No support for end users either.

Overall, despite there being some good features, many of them are either poorly thought out / executed or lack the backing of additional features to make the most out of them.

Comments: A practical and well built product that is easy to implement and fit into any business which requires an asset management and online helpdesk tool. Comments: Loc8 has provided us with a solution to maintain our facilities management operation. We needed an effective simple solution to manage contractors and assets, which resulted with what we were looking for.

The system will provide a management service to identify, schedule, manage and collect all documentation. This will provide assurance that out buildings are meeting with current regulation. This service operates on line, and manages the recommendation and approval of invoices.

We have been happy with the service and their development and support team and would recommend their service.

Pros: Other benefits include no programming required, safely edit contents, search engine friendly, minimal training required and reduced cost compared to other FM softwares.

Pros: 1. There are a wide range of options in relation to areas to input information

2. Reports can be generated for any and all information within the programme

3. The programme can be tailored to meet any requirements

4. Customised maintenance schedules are available

5. Self generated work orders for scheduled and preventative maintenance

6. The entire programme is user friendly

Cons: 1. A few glitches in relation to server size and availability and some connections issues when editing large amounts of information, although this is probably due to our network connection speeds to the hosted Loc8 system.

2. Unable to custom design PDF output of work orders as of yet.

Overall: Overall I would definitely recommend this programme for use in the commercial real estate sector in relation to facilities and asset management. Loc8 successfully lends itself to a wide range of industries.

Pros: Loc8 is an extremely easy to use Asset Management system. Previously we managed everything in spreadsheets, which made it extremely hard to run reports. We can now export data, bulk import and run queries on users with a few clicks. Support is also extremely helpful and get problems fixed with great speed

Cons: Can be a little tricky with importing data

Overall: Definitely recommend this to anyone looking at recording all of their assets in the one place. Whether that be physical hardware, software or phone numbers

Comments: Fantastic for facility management with one or hundreds of technicians. We maintain 27,000 buildings right across Australia, in remote locations, and have over 70 mobile technicians using Loc8 daily.

Pros: Great User Interface. Navigating is easy; icons make it user friendly for all types of users. Asset Management Tool for all purposes. Speed of system is good on both LAN, Internet & wireless. Implementation is easy for end-users. Web based.

Cons: System is dependant on Adobe Flash Player, which means ensuring the latest version is rolled out. However, it does give a great user experience.

Excellent job and SLA management facilities, very flexible set-up options for BU's.
Almost unlimited fields for asset data collection.
Auto dispatch and scheduling capabilities.

Cons: FSR design and content, RA reporting options and tasks/activities settings are somewhat limited.

Overall: ACES have gone paperless since the implementation of Loc8 with average turnaround time of jobs substantially reduced. Highly recommend it for critical job and asset management.

Pros: Template driven asset library which can be customised to suit any type of asset.
Very functional Helpdesk with good SLA management and notifications system based on both incident and workorder status.
Web based application, providing quick and simple access to users anywhere, anytime.
Fully integrated Mobile applications that eliminate paperwork, enhance field workforce efficiency, provide real time asset/maintenance feedback and speed up invoicing.
Asset-centric system that provides historical maintenance data down to the asset level, including individual faults and fault rectification status.
A very flexible set and forget planned maintenance scheduling system that auto creates/dispatches workorders when required.
Excellent dashboard reporting tool. Many other really great features and benefits I don't have time to list.

Cons: Reporting is easy to use and functional but can't produce comprehensive custom reporting.

Overall: I highly recommend that organisations (large or small) looking for enterprise grade asset management, CMMS, and helpdesk functions neatly packaged into a single on-line system, take a good look at Loc8. You won't be disappointed.

Overall: Broad Services Pty Ltd manages a variety of commercial property maintenance service contracts that vary in size and nature. Due to the large amount of information for sometimes very urgent tasks we were searching for an online job booking system that would be fast, flexible and reliable to provide real time service to all our clients. Loc8 Software as a Service has provided this for us. Loc8 has been invaluable in helping us continually achieve top service results .
We have recently increased our service area to include outer regional areas of Victoria which would not have been possible without the use of Loc8 and its ability to convert work orders to SMS.
The Loc8 support team have always been very helpful with their training and we would have no hesitation in recommending the use of their Software as a Service.
