Pros: - Polished user interface
- Once you learn the software, the hotkeys and workflow are well thought out
- Easy for a novice to learn, and if you get stuck, you can easily search for and learn how to accomplish tasks
- Very configurable

Cons: With high-featured software, there is always a learning curve associated with learning such software. But with a bit of time invested you will pick it quickly.

Pros: Intuitive tools, smart and simple layer controls, streamlined UI. The use of the machine resources is optimal and I particularly love the easy switch between Draw, Pixel and Export persona, that significantly accelerates the way I work. It is a one time purchase (not a subscription) so it has effectively replaced my previous vector illustrations editing software.

Cons: Export options are a little limited and it just misses a few key features to be able to replace my current publishing software and their announced Affinity Publisher keeps getting delayed. PDF export makes files that are heavier in filesize than other solutions, not an issue when exporting a PDF for print, but can be for PDFs for a website where each KB is key.

Pros: I love that I can get a full-functioning design software for my Mac without spending a ton of money on Adobe. Affinity is one of the best reviewed and functioning options out there.

Cons: It's a learning curve. I've used Pixelmator for a while, and got Affinity Designer for the projects that it's more applicable for, but honestly haven't taken the time to learn how to use it better. Just the learning curve is a con- but that's with any new software.

This could well be the Adobe Photoshop alternative everyone is waiting for

Pros: If you know Photoshop you can seamlessly work with this software. Very familiar interface. Can buy with a perpetual license & free upgrades. Very robust. Not a watered down piece of software at all.

Cons: Not the greatest fan of the .raw photo processing. It's a bit less intuitive than the other parts of the software.

From a non-designer prespective - Great design program

Pros: I think that it is easier to learn and definitley worth a purchase becuase it is a one-time fee instead of a monthly fee. I was very surprised for how many features it had for the price. If designing was my full-time job, I may feel different.

Cons: Right now the online user forums are a little weak compared to Adobe illustrator. That will improve overtime and affinity has made training material on their end that is helpful.

Hand down the best design tool on the market at a fraction of the cost.

Pros: Affinity is hands down the best design software on the market. It's affordable but oh so powerful. I've been using it since it came out and it just keeps getting better. As a designer that used Photoshop for a long time I was excited to see something better.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that they are still building up a user base so sometimes it's harder to find design resources made for Affinity.

Overall: Using Affinity Designer allowed me to work with vectors in a format similar to Adobe Photoshop.

I've used Affinity Designer as an alternative to Photoshop for some projects.

Pros: I find Affinity Designer most useful when dealing with font files and icon sets. It offers a whole arsenal of useful tools for layered and vector graphics.

Cons: Affinity Designer feels much less intuitive to me than Photoshop and other programs in the Adobe Suite, particularly when editing photos and other image files.

Overall: It can be very useful in certain situations, but overall Photoshop is more practical.

Pros: Affinity Designer has 99% of what I need from a vector editing tool. The UI is easy to work with and some things are actually easier to do with Designer than Illustrator.

Cons: I wish the expand stroke function was more accurate. The results are inconsistent and makes the feature essentially unusable since you cannot trust what it will output.

Overall: An affordable, feature-rich vector editor that gets frequent updates.
