Pros: It has a lot of awesome features. I can work with Illustrator files, so the transition from one to another was good because I kept all my files.

Cons: It is a little complicated to use, so it would be nice to have more tutorial videos and Q&A for the new users to learn how to make.

Pros: Affinity Designer is a refreshing alternative to the Adobe Illustrator for budding designers to use on a budget. As a newcomer in the free-lance artist arena, I find Affinity more user friendly than the longstanding Illustrator option due to it's draw persona and learning tool.

Cons: It is not as advanced as the Adobe Illustrator and is confined to the MacOs in many ways so when creating digital content, we cannot rely solely on Affinity.

Pros: One time fee like any desktop app, it's easy to use, really good performance and it will allow you to move out of the Adobe monthly fees.

This isn't just a replacement, it's a great software by its own and allows you to create awesome pieces of art with vectors.

Cons: There's nothing that I don't like, of course, there's a learning curve and can be hard to forget the hotkeys and the ways of previous tools that you used for the same purpose, but once you get the hang of how it works it's a one way ticket and you won't look back.

Overall: Great value of the price, you can do whatever you do with more expensive tools. Do more or the same by paying less, who can beat that?

Pros: It does everything essential, plus uses way less resources and is much faster than Photoshop. I seriously could see switching from PS to Affinity, especially since it can open PSD files

Cons: It's a completely different UI than Photoshop, so it will take a little bit of learning time to get used to. But so far no disadvantages that I can see.

Pros: Originally purchased this as a more cost effective option for design (images/PDFs mainly). The features, functionality, and even shortcuts are very close to what I would get using an Adobe equivalent, but it's much more budget friendly and the support and dev team are phenomenal. They have an outstanding user/support community with quick responses and they are always keeping users up to date on what enhancements are coming next. I will enjoy seeing how this continues to grow and develop over time.

Cons: If you got in early, there were definitely some features that weren't there right away and could put users off. If you looked at this a few years ago and didn't go with it, I would strongly encourage anybody to try it, at minimum, if not go ahead and just purchase.

Pros: I'm personally user of several SERIF products so I was very happy to get a new generation software solution. And is very good. This is a fantastic media editor/designer for some serious work. There are plenty of options for all type of design needs. My personal is light tool that can make very interesting effects.

Cons: Some time, with bigger files, work becomes slow, for no reasons. Also, in very rare options, program can froze. Learning curve for some options is slightly problematic.

Overall: Fantastic solution for most/all type of design/editing needs from a company that is not known so well.

Cons: Being used to other softwares its hard to adapt, and since i had all my designs in other software formats sometimes when trying to open them here, some information is lost along the way.

Pros: It is a powerful and versatile design tool that allows you to design, retouch images, and create graphic vectors, you only have to pay once, and its features make it one of the best and most complete softwares in the graphic market

Cons: The only drawback of this software, is that there are no precision tools or shape building, it is a bit basic, but it is still a very complete program

Overall: I learned how to use this software and the experience was very positive and professional for my career

Pros: There are times when we need to deal with vector illustrations. Adobe Illustrator was considered and then I found Affinity Designer. It is a reasonably priced alternative and offers all of the features we need for graphic design. This isn't a subscription based software, so after you try it you can buy it. Before purchasing this software we were hiring third-party designers to do the tasks that can now be done with Affinity Designer. Saves us money and time waiting for projects to be done.

Cons: There's a lot to it and not not as intuitive as other software programs that I have used. But the good news is there is a book you can purchase Affinity Designer Workbook which offers step by step instructions.

Overall: Saves time and money with graphic design projects.

Pros: It's a very software for designer. Affinity Designer is a great option to vectorize and graph.
On the other hand, this software has a single payment and doesn't require updating a license

Cons: Affinity Designer is a not popular software because it was exclusive to Mac, therefore, few people know how used . On the other hand, it's a complete software to work for vectorization and graphics, but still lacks new tools that allow to do things that other design softwares already do, such a powerful web design sections

Overall: Affinity Designer is compatible for a year with Microsoft so it is no longer exclusive to Mac PC. This is very important for user Windows like me.

Pros: The layout is smooth and effective. It works really well and was not hard to figure out. I had to google some suggestions but other than that it was great. Very small learning curve.

Pros: The layout is easier to work with. Great tutorial videos on youtube. I use it all the time now. Very good controls. Illustrator is quite intimidating initially and takes quite a while to get use to it. Unlike affinity designer, you can get going straight away.
The ability to manipulate PDF files with no fuss is another great feature.

Cons: Not really any that i can think of. Maybe the option of changing the screen background colours from the dark black to white.

Pros: The price, of course and the fact that it's easier to manipulate and more robust than other vector drawning programs. I tested it as a replacement of a well-known vector software, and fell in love with it. I use it every day, to nearly all the use you can imagine a such a tool. Really one of the best value you can find !

Cons: Nothing really, maybe, and that's a maybe, a lack of typo tools that other package have form a long time.

Pros: I love the cost of Affinity Designer. A one-off straightforward price. The features are more than adequate for most designers and it competes with the behemoths of Design/Drawing software.

Cons: The only issue for me was the changeover from my other design software. Having to relearn toolbars, shortcuts and menus took a little while, but cost savings overall made it worth the effort.

Overall: Affinity Designer has saved me hundreds in subscriber fees to its major competitor.

Pros: It's an incredible app that has everything you need for designing, sketching, drawing and more! I't one of my favorite apps of the decade! All the features are amazing: the infinite zoom gives you precision, the smart guides are really smart, the layers panel, the tools, the view modes and more.
Serif really have achieved a masterpiece that competes directly with other vector graphics platforms.

Cons: It's a little limited on typography tools, and object effects as blending between shapes, gradient mesh and others are on my wishlist.

Overall: The fastest proffesional graphic design software, with great results and amazing speed using symbols.

Pros: It has a good drawing platform. It's actually pretty similar to adobe but a little less advanced. It's a good program that will get the job done with ease. Exporting is easy and making adjustments or cutting frames is quite simple. I'd recommend it, especially to anyone, moderately skilled to a beginner.

Cons: There isn't 24/7 support but it's lower cost so I would expect that. I'm really reaching to find a con, but it would be that there are fewer features than illustrator. Not enough to discourage my use, however

Pros: Surprisingly, this software packs in most of what Adobe Illustrator has, but without the monthly fees. That is one heck of an offering! Although I still prefer Illustrator, I often recommend Designer to a lot of my student friends that are learning design on a budget. It's a great tool!

Cons: Still not quite as good as Adobe. They are getting closer and closer... But haven't yet hit the mark. I've heard they may come out with an iPad app, which would make me think about switching. Stay tuned, I guess!

Pros: Designer, along with its brother Photo, makes the best out of a designer software, without the hustle and cost of a larger suite, such as Adobe CC. Every feature you are used to having on Illustrator you will find in Designer. The layout is very similar and with some name changes you are just at home. Additionally, Serif develops templates and themes that you can use just by being a registered user.

Cons: The only problem for most designers is to find where the usual tools (shadowing, rasterizing, among others) are located. Once you get familiarized with where is what, you are free.

Overall: Being able to pay for a licensed fully reliable software, at a reasonable price. Hey! It's a no-brainer.

Pros: The Affinity line of products is truly amazing. I use Designer as well as Photo and I can easily say that I many never go back to Adobe products again. One time purchase, not a recurring fee. Even their mobile apps are excellent.

Cons: Some of the workflows are a bit different than what you might be use to in Illustrator. That being said, there are some shortcuts that I feel should have been used in the Adobe apps we've all used.

Pros: Affinity Designer is a deeply-featured vector drawing software system on par with Adobe Illustrator at a fraction of the price.

Cons: Some of the features and functions of the tool feel a bit unnatural if you are converting over from Illustrator, so it will take some getting used to, but it is worth it!

Overall: I have been using a very old (CD-era) copy of Adobe Illustrator because I could not get myself to pay the upgrade cost. Most of what I would need from a drawing program could be done with the basic toolset and wouldn't justify the cost of Illustrator. Although some online tools like Vectrr and Aviary are nice, they weren't deeply features, and frankly at times had performance issues. When Affinity Designer came along, it seems to have the power and stability of Illustrator without the expense. After giving it a try, I am very satisfied with the purchase. Although I am not a power-user, it does seem to be very deeply featured.

Pros: I love the vector based tools of this App. I used to be an avid user of Fireworks and when Adobe decided to kill it I kept looking for a good replacement that offers the best of both worlds: pixel based design and vector. So far Affinity Designer covered both and now I even feel more comfortable using it than I ever did in Fireworks.

Cons: Some text tools are still rudimentary but every update keeps getting better. For example they only caught up with vertical alignment on the last update and I'm sure they'll keep adding more details in the future.

Pros: It is one of the best companies in terms of web design, not only because it tries to help in all possible ways to its customers but also because it presents a wide variety of services and is extremely effective in each and every one of them, I recommend it 100%, currently it is very difficult to find a company as effective and fast as Affinity Designer. If you are thinking about working with this company let me tell you that you have nothing to think about and you should start doing it now, I recommend it 100% effective, fast, attentive, versatile .. it has everything a customer needs and knows how to use it ..

Cons: I really do not have any complaints about this company, I go alone with nice and good comments, because it is everything that the company left me, I am 100% satisfied and very happy to have worked with Affinity Designer without a doubt I will do it again a future .. Very good company and very good way of working, really admirable and recommended, I'm not disappointed even for a second. There should be more companies that do everything as simple as Affinity Designer does and treat clients' doubts and concerns in the same way that they do. It does not compare with anything, its treatment and attention to details are very good. Highly recommended

Pros: The big thing that Affinity is capitalizing on is the aversion of some people to the subscription model of Photoshop. So that's nice that once you purchase Affinity you get to own it. It is also impressive that Affinity can do most of the stuff that Photoshop does.

Cons: No batch processing. Considering that Affinity costs about 1/2 of the price of Photoshop and Lightroom and Affinity will probably come out with new versions every year that require purchase, you aren't really saving that much if you are spending any serious amount of time on your photos.

Pros: Affinity Designer is a great tool for graphic design. It offers pretty much all the features you want and the cost is very affordable. I've used Gimp, Pixelmator, and Photoshop but compare the cost and features, Affinity Designer wins.

Pros: Affinity Designer is high-class software. It has every feature that you would ever need for designing vector-based artwork. Unlike Illustrator, Affinity Designer *also* has a powerful raster-art mode (called a "persona") that allows you to mix vector and raster art effortlessly. It's really a joy to use.

Cons: As with any complex software, there is a learning curve. Affinity makes it easier to learn Designer by way of several videos that you may watch. They also have a workbook that you can buy, if you'd like to follow along with a project-based approach to learning. Lynda.com also has a nice video series on Affinity Designer.

Pros: Excellent design software. In most cases it will be a great replacement for Adobe CC tools. It's powerful yet affordable. I like its pricing politics, that you pay just once and use it forever. No subscriptions, no monthly payments, no hassle :)

Cons: Despite of all its pros it doesn't contain some advanced features like Illustrator or Photoshop. In addition it much harder to find learning materials to improve your workflow in Affinity Designer.

Pros: The cost is for sure a big selling point for this program, but it is pretty good overall too. I have a coworker who loves it and so I have some experience with it through him. There are things with it that seem a little off, but things that also seem a lot better than other programs. It overall seems pretty comparable to Illustrator.

Cons: To me, some of it seems a little less intuitive than Illustrator, and although it has a lot of great stuff, I just don't like it quite as much because of those things. I know that if I spent some more time getting to know it better, I may not feel that way as much, but it definitely just feels a little lower quality and user-friendly than Illustrator.

Pros: First of all, the cost is very low, if compared with Adobe softwares. Affinity is a very good design software, very intuitive and beautiful. One of the best features is the possibility of editing bitmaps and vector at the same time, in the same workspace. That's just great.

Cons: There's only one thing I missed: support to touch workspace. For people who work with illustration, it's a great function.

Pros: Works extremely fluently on mac and the interface is well adopted.
After checking different alternatives (free and paid ones) I've found this one to have the best balance of functionality and price. Hope that the company will keep the no-subscription pricing model as well as reasonable price tag in future.

Cons: The most annoying thing is the default save in the own format. As a programmer I can understand the reasons for that, but still if I'm making minor changes to a file, it makes sense to keep the original format. At least try proposing to save in different one, but keep the original one with default selection. The 'save' hotkey is usually used automatically and here you need to go through export...

Overall: I already recommended it to some people

Pros: The price of Affinity is hard to beat -- I am an accidental graphic designer for smaller parts of my job and, with no formal education, training, or experience, I didn't want to make a large investment in the mainstream design software. Affinity can do everything that I could ever dream of and is a breeze to learn.

Cons: I wish there were more "tutorials" in the software itself, but that's likely only because I had no idea what I was doing when I first started using Affinity. After diving in, the software is quite user friendly!

Pros: You can create logos, business cards, images for marketing use, or for websites, and of course it allows you to retouch photos. The quality is amazing, the finish product is good for web use as for printing. I did our business cards and they looked great. We created a bunch of images for our website and they look amazing. Most of the tools are easy to get them to work, you can naturally tell what they're for and how to use them.

Cons: Some tools were a little hard to get the hang of it (if you're not a professional) and it takes some time to learn how to use them properly, but once you get it, your images will have a professional look.

Overall: Good quality images. Easy to use, it takes some time to learn to use the tools you don't know but once you learned they are very easy to use them. You can create anything you want, I've created business cards, images for our website and retouched family pictures on it as well. Images have a professional look when finished.

Cons: Learning curve is a little steep. There doesn't seem to be a good tutorial for this software. More templates would be great too!

Overall: Designing your own stuff

- Easy for a novice to learn, and if you get stuck, you can easily search for and learn how to accomplish tasks
- Very configurable

Cons: With high-featured software, there is always a learning curve associated with learning such software. But with a bit of time invested you will pick it quickly.

Pros: Intuitive tools, smart and simple layer controls, streamlined UI. The use of the machine resources is optimal and I particularly love the easy switch between Draw, Pixel and Export persona, that significantly accelerates the way I work. It is a one time purchase (not a subscription) so it has effectively replaced my previous vector illustrations editing software.

Cons: Export options are a little limited and it just misses a few key features to be able to replace my current publishing software and their announced Affinity Publisher keeps getting delayed. PDF export makes files that are heavier in filesize than other solutions, not an issue when exporting a PDF for print, but can be for PDFs for a website where each KB is key.

Pros: I love that I can get a full-functioning design software for my Mac without spending a ton of money on Adobe. Affinity is one of the best reviewed and functioning options out there.

Cons: It's a learning curve. I've used Pixelmator for a while, and got Affinity Designer for the projects that it's more applicable for, but honestly haven't taken the time to learn how to use it better. Just the learning curve is a con- but that's with any new software.

Pros: If you know Photoshop you can seamlessly work with this software. Very familiar interface. Can buy with a perpetual license & free upgrades. Very robust. Not a watered down piece of software at all.

Cons: Not the greatest fan of the .raw photo processing. It's a bit less intuitive than the other parts of the software.

From a non-designer prespective - Great design program

Pros: I think that it is easier to learn and definitley worth a purchase becuase it is a one-time fee instead of a monthly fee. I was very surprised for how many features it had for the price. If designing was my full-time job, I may feel different.

Cons: Right now the online user forums are a little weak compared to Adobe illustrator. That will improve overtime and affinity has made training material on their end that is helpful.

Pros: Affinity is hands down the best design software on the market. It's affordable but oh so powerful. I've been using it since it came out and it just keeps getting better. As a designer that used Photoshop for a long time I was excited to see something better.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that they are still building up a user base so sometimes it's harder to find design resources made for Affinity.

Overall: Using Affinity Designer allowed me to work with vectors in a format similar to Adobe Photoshop.

I've used Affinity Designer as an alternative to Photoshop for some projects.

Pros: I find Affinity Designer most useful when dealing with font files and icon sets. It offers a whole arsenal of useful tools for layered and vector graphics.

Cons: Affinity Designer feels much less intuitive to me than Photoshop and other programs in the Adobe Suite, particularly when editing photos and other image files.

Overall: It can be very useful in certain situations, but overall Photoshop is more practical.

Pros: Affinity Designer has 99% of what I need from a vector editing tool. The UI is easy to work with and some things are actually easier to do with Designer than Illustrator.

Cons: I wish the expand stroke function was more accurate. The results are inconsistent and makes the feature essentially unusable since you cannot trust what it will output.

Overall: An affordable, feature-rich vector editor that gets frequent updates.
