Owner Leisure, Travel & Tourism Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Low-cost but high-quality vector graphic editor" May 6, 2021 5.0 As it is very reasonably priced and full of useful features, Affinity Designer quickly became my favorite vector graphic editor. I use it on my production machine when making graphics for the videos we shoot, and for my pet projects. It is an excellent piece of software I recommended to all of my colleagues and they are very happy with it. I can definitely recommend Affinity Designer, you will not regret buying it. Pros As with the rest of the Affinity suite, Designer is a top of the line software with all the features of the competitors but much lower price. I am impressed at how professional the UI feels, and how well the program itself works. Cons There are no cons to this program. Affinity Designer covers all of my needs and more, and I haven't had the displeasure of finding any bugs whatsoever. Review Source CH Cyiza H. It works mostly the same way as Adobe Illustrator, but has it's own workflow that takes a bit of getting used to. But after that, it's a joy to use! Pros It completely replaces Adobe Illustrator without monthly fees. It has all the features needed to deliver quality vector graphics. Cons Illustrator has been around for a long time and has many people producing tutorials and other resources. Designer has grown and thus improved on this a lot but still has some way to go to be as comprehensive as Illustrator. It features many free icons along with the software itself. It's much cheaper than Illustrator as it does not require a subscription, (which I really like) as it's just a one-off payment. Cons Deciding when to use Affinity Photo and Designer is challenging as they can do pretty much what each other does. They are both amazing products that work very well together to cover all of our design needs. Pros Affinity Designer has all the features of other, more expensive software options, with a clean customizable interface. It loads faster than other software we have used and are very responsive to customer requests. Cons Truthfully there's very little negative about Affinity Designer. Every con I've had has been addressed by the company and fixed or added. If something does come up, I'm sure they'll fix it or integrate a new function. Although it does not have all the same features of the Adobe program, its great advantage is the price. Buying this software saved me a lot of money. Cons Unfortunately, it is still good to have access to sister software (Adobe), so you can get your preferred results. I do not think there is an ideal product that will meet all expectations. But let's remember that the two were not born for social graphics. it is still a perfect tool for photo retouching, but too heavy for a more restricted use to social media. Also Affinity when exporting allows many options, in a more fluid way. I use it all the time now. Very good controls. Illustrator is quite intimidating initially and takes quite a while to get use to it. Unlike affinity designer, you can get going straight away. The ability to manipulate PDF files with no fuss is another great feature. Cons Not really any that i can think of. Pros I bought this software with fairly low expectations...and they were blown away! I use this software way more than I was expecting and although it missing a few features, its a serious illustrator competitor. For the money, it's really hard to beat. I got it on sale for $30 which is the price of just one month of illustrator. We all know that Adobe Illustrator exists for graphic designing so you must be wondering why Affinity? Honestly, this team has done a great job. Almost the same kind of functionalities with easier feel. I guess even price-wise it's lower than Illustrator. Sometimes I feel like this is a lighter version of Illustrator, same functionalities and works faster in any laptop without any lag, unlike Illustrator. My latest work with Affinity Designer was a layout design I did for a campus newspaper. Pros I love the fact that it's lightweight, and I also love the simple and beautiful user interface plus an amazing user experience. It has some problems such as lack of tools, some functions such as pattern tool, tracing, etc. however they are secondary functions that you can replace. it has a very affordable price, and I recommend it. Pros I’ve been using Affinity Designer for the last 8 months, and I like a lot, it has a simple interface compared with other vector design softwares, layer management is great, I use it whenever I need to make quick architectural diagrams, It has a version for iPad that is very useful for quick jobs and a fairly cheap price. This software has been the absolute best money I have ever spent on a software program. This is a full-featured vector design tool that can stand toe to toe with programs like Adobe Illustrator which cost 10x more. If you are a graphic design professional that uses vector design tools every day it would probably be worth that extra expense to move up to AI, but Affinity Designer does 90% of what you'd get out of AI at a small fraction of the cost. Freelancer Design Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A great alternative to Adobe Illustrator" October 6, 2022 5.0 I switched to affinity designer from Adobe Illustrator. I would occasionally use AI to do vector work for graphic design or logotype, but the subscription was barely paying for itself. Switching to Affinity Designer allowed me to stop worrying about the financial side of my software, and it proved itself a very capable alternative to AI. Turns out I also much prefer it's UI as well. Nowadays it's main use is to make SVG shapes to import to Blender and Alibre CAD, though I still use it for occasional vector graphic design as well. It meets my needs and then some. I'm very happy with it.
