June 21, 2018 4.0 Pros The flow charts that allow so many personalized options are unique and a life-saver. The time tracking options are also a big hit. The entire office is able to utilize multiple aspects with ease. Using it feels like they began with good questions about how a robust project management tool SHOULD look and work, and began developing from there. The interface is clean and open and the tools you have access to are head and shoulders above "free" offerings like Asana and Trello. Pros Nested task view is awesome, dependencies and Gantt charts are great and the multitude of ways you can parse the data is peerless. Cons Their "app" is a web app, with no offline mode. Really disappointed about this one, since we're moving from Asana, who's app is WONDERFUL. Review Source TM Taylor M. Used the software for: ### "Simple way to manage client project collaboration online" October 6, 2010 5.0 Easy to use and helps me save time while juggling multiple clients across the US. I had been looking for a way to organize all my project communication and collaborate online with clients and subcontractors all in one place. Previously email was the preferred method of communication, but its not ideal. Mavenlink allows me to keep all group communication in one place on one page. This keeps everyone on the same page with very little additional effort. Once implemented everyone I work with can be more efficient and clients feel like they are being kept in the loop. My goal is to work smart....not hard. Using Mavenlink with other Google Apps products like gist and freshbooks is going to help me get there. Pros Project collaboration, time tracking, invoicing (HUGE PLUS), easy to see the entire project and all back-and-forth in one place. The new time tracking software and invoicing software have really helped my small business. My company only used it for timekeeping pretty much at the time, and was just beginning to understand the usefulness of this software. Pros Effective for managers to see project status and give information about full projects Cons I do not feel it was used as much as it could have. My company was not really monitoring use and it usually was used for large projects. It is very easy to track the progress of my project and make sure everything is happening on time and on budget. I love that they take my suggestions to heart, their support is amazing! " March 30, 2016 4.0 Pros Mavenlink is very user-friendly and made it really easy for us to introduce the software to our staff. All information is kept in one place, which makes information-sharing much easier and everyone on the project has a better and more realistic idea of timelines, deliverables, allocated time etc. Mavenlink has really helped us to improve our time-keeping and get a better idea of the time that our staff actually spends on completing specific tasks. The financial overview on all our projects has also proven to be very useful. Cons The integration with Quickbooks UK is still very basic so we can't really make use of it at the moment. I'm still in the learning stages but can already tell that Mavenlink is going to save me so much time, an amazing amount of time. I can't wait to dive in and learn more. The training that our Client Success manager has given us has been top notch. We have also successfully used live chat a number of times and when I submitted a support ticket for a question, the response time was very quick, the question was thoroughly answered and the follow up was quick and thoughtful. We've tried just about every major application, and as developers & designers all of them are equally easy to use. However, Mavenlink's big win is the fact that you don't need to be a developer to understand the interface, and you don't need to have project management experience to understand how projects work and how to collaborate with a team online. It's truly the perfect solution for any business that has short and long-term projects where clients need to be involved in the process the entire time. There is no learning curve, and the friction is so low on the client end that adoption is just wonderful - there really is no training or explanation necessary. I find the tasking very helpful, but the navigation and interface is not extremely straightforward. I think there is a lot of functionality that I'm not aware of. Pros Ability to categorize and organize tasks; assign estimated hours and budget to each tasks, and view the project status and burn rate throughout the cycle of the project. Cons The interface is a bit difficult to navigate- lots of clicks to get to the right place. Unable to log time to a deliverable, and lack of options regarding different task statuses. Would be a good solution for agencies tracking billable time to clients. Cons Very expensive for the way our team is able to use the software. There's not a great view for an administrator - the navigation is not great and as an admin, I can't easily see all projects and status from a total company perspective. It's really set up for agencies and clients tracking time to expense to them. We use it in a similar manner but we have to do workarounds to make it work. Review Source ME Massimo E. Pros It does a good job with hours tracking. I am able to see how much budget is left on a project. They also made major improvements on the ability to approve hours. Previously it was only approved by project which would be hard if you had multiple projects, but instead you can now approve by person when all their projects report to you. Cons It is a little hard to manage timeline with resources, but not because it doesnt offer it, but because projects always change and its hard to find the time to modify the changes needed that constantly happen. Overall, a good option if you need more PM than anything. Pros I really like that you can include P&Ls in your project planning, and the planning portion of the platform itself is relatively straightforward and offers all of the required items a PM and team would expect. Cons It feels like the platform is simply trying to do "too much", meaning it falls down on a few different fronts. While it could be an exceptional PM software, it also tries to be an accounting and BI platform. This results in nothing being a perfect fit for your needs. Review Source SS Samir S.
