It's pretty intuitive for me which I appreciate. Pros Each user can update their own staffing projections (including time dedicated to training and vacation) online to allow for visibility into their capacity or lack thereof for future staffing. Cons Our team had a tough time getting used to the time tracking aspects compared to the previous software that was used. They truly work to understand your use case for the product and offer solutions, and even involve us in conversations with the product teams to share our perspective on new feature sets. Pros It's clear that the platform is designed to fit many different styles of work, and much of it is highly configurable to your preferences. With the integrated APIs to Salesforce and Active Directory, among others, it's worked well to seamlessly stay in sync with the rest of our systems. Cons The Insights reporting platform is very powerful, but complex to learn how to implement custom configurations. You'll do well here if you have experience querying relational databases like SQL, but otherwise you will depend heavily on assistance from the support team and documentation to make adjustments to the custom reports. The product is very very feature rich, almost anything from scheduling, project management, tracking, reporting and billing, everything works. The flexibility in terms of user access management is also great, can use with consultants and customers as well. Cons The product is expensive, also the focus on plug and play the product is rigid in terms of adopting to custom requirements. Mavenlink has definitely helped us open more schools worldwide efficiently and effectively. Before Mavenlink, communication and documentation were major issues around our projects. With Mavenlink, we are able to document our calls and follow ups within the system itself. Tasks linked to communications are also very helpful. The features I like best are ease of use, Dashboard view of all projects, Templates, sync to Google Apps, and Gannt. Pros Ease of use and communication. The ability to start threads regarding specific tasks, upload/share google docs, post messages that also go to email, etc. has been critical to successfully completing projects. Cons The only dislike I have is that I cannot push a change across multiple projects at one time. We use templates for almost every project we launch. They've come a long way from 4 years ago and there's been many updates and improvements that pretty much covers everything you would need in order to manage any projects with team members across the globe or locally. It's a very robust solution that makes things easier to communicate with team members, assign tasks, dead lines, create templates for projects and even involve your client to review the progress and comment. It also intergerates with Google Apps which is great and you can easily sync your tasks on to your google calendar and attach email communications. any firm that focuses on team projects should give mavenlink a try. Our company used to use Salesforce fro its Project Management and recently we switched to Mavenlink. Its so much quicker and lighter to find things, love the Task Tracker view of a project and all the sub projects within them. VEry nice at a glance viewing things. Also, the communication activity feed is nice to communicate with clients Cons Only real negative that we've experienced or noticed is how reliant things are for views on the dates things are due. Some seem to cascade from a previous stage but doesn't seem like all are, so seems like unnecessary updating of dates in multiple places. Review Source SS Subrata S. After researching a ton of project management tools, we found Mavenlink to be as robust as we needed it to be without being overwhelming. The quick snapshots of the Analytics reports let you know if you're on track while the trends that are pulled from the Insights are very powerful to help us manage and course correct our estimate, resourcing and burn rate. Onboarding was easy and I always felt I had the support needed. So happy to have a single tool to help me do my job successfully. Pros Resourcing, Scheduling for projections, the ability to compare actuals vs. scheduled/estimates, timetracking with a timer/timesheet or in the weekly timesheet tool - flexibility to do it however works best for you. Easy onboarding of team... Cons The Gantt chart is slow to load when you have a large project plan, there is no in tool estimate feature really that is comprehensive, there are workarounds, but would love to see that added. I am able to find all my projects in one place with all the files and links that I need. It saves a bunch of time than to be digging in folder after folder. There are some great integrations with Google. We use it to also track time and expenses. Cons I think it is expensive. If it was cheaper, I think the entire company would implement this software. Pros There are few features that are my most favorite and also provides me support is its advanced searching features with its effective search bar that helps me to find each and every document from my system and even the content present between them can also be find through this platform. It also enables me to track time that helps further in achieving goals and certain aims in an efficient way that increases the productivity of work as well. Cons This particular product has no big issues only it lacks a good customer support system that can respond accordingly. Pros There's a lot of functionality at the higher up space Cons As a user who enters their time the time entry screen is an extremely overcomplicated experience. It should be as simple as picking a project, sub-code and then entering time. My experience so far is vastly overcomplicated with different places and ways to enter it. I came from using harvest to track time and their weekly view with a row of the project and code i use frequently is most excellent. Switched from [Harvest](https://www.capterra.com/p/75598/Harvest/) I didn't. I don't know their reasoning. Maybe they liked the reporting or other features as a higher up management experience. A UX overhaul is needed in order to make this product intuitive. The first rule of UX is to not make the user think. Pros Honestly nothing. I dislike everything about this product. Cons \- Adding people to tasks is confusing and prone to error. Options that are not needed cannot be removed. - Unsubmitted time cards count against project budget. This makes zero sense and cannot be configured otherwise. - Reports must be exported, downloaded, opened in Excel, and manipulated in order to see anything meaningful. I really liked the feature where you could update project managers/admins on how far things were completed - saved up a lot of time and unwanted "Where are you on this?" emails/Slacks/etc. Cons It was easy for tasks to get muddled together. I use this feature to plan my day and to ensure I am reaching my total hours. It also helps me to plan projects: if the time I actually spend on each project differs from what I planned or allocated, I know to adjust my forecasted time in the future. Cons The resource management feature can be confusing. Viewing the difference between forecasted time and actual allocated time for each person is difficult, and having to click on the down arrow to input the time seems unnecessary. June 27, 2018 2.0 Long story short, I had been paying a certain amount for 6+ years, they kicked my credit card, made me reenter the info and told me that plan wasn't available anymore (no prior notice). Then I was faced with the decision to upgrade to a plan that was 6x more than my original plan! I talked to 2 reps and they both told me "we don't offer that plan anymore". All of this happened in the middle of the week while I am trying to deal with my clients. Anyway, I began using zoho projects which I like much more, it has an app and it integrates with a lot of other zoho products. I would highly recommend since the pricing is similar. I left Mavenlink mainly because of the inconvenience, but ZoHo truly provides the same service plus more! Pros The workspace was professional, branding gave the sense of personalization. The file space seemed to be unlimited at the time. Cons They don't have an app, the mobile equivalent site is not as user friendly as an app would be. The Mavenlink team worked very closely with Operations to incorporate new processes as we evolved into a new company. Previously, our company used another program to track project progress and time sheets. Mavenlink offered more features, visuals, and overall better experience. Cons Although Mavenlink does offer more features for users, there is definitely a learning curve to using it. It did take some time to find places to input hours or track projects and our company still works closely with the Mavenlink team to discover new functionality and learning how to effectively use the software. However, overall would definitely recommend this for any Marketing agency.
