Pros

It's stable and reliable. Mavenlink has never been down. I also like that it has the capacity to store all the workflow information. A person may not know how to find it but it is in the system somewhere.

Cons

It's not easy to tell the deadline for tasks or the amount of hours that can be billed for the project. I also don't like how the messages are displayed. Maybe present them as speech bubbles. I don't like Slack but Mavenlink could be a bit more joyful. I also resent the constant pointless marketing emails from Mavenlink. Seriously what is the engagement on those? Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams, no other application sends me so much email. The color scheme is also boring. It's not very bold. The blues are light. The grays are light. Whenever I use Mavenlink, it reminds me that I'm a cog. I also don't like how one enters their timesheet. Workday is a better interface.

The invoicing and billing functionality is great as well as allowing resources to be forecasted and allocated to multiple projects

It is a bit clunky to use at first as there is a lot of functionality within it

Easy project planning, time sheet tracking and invoicing capabilities. Extreme user friendly interface!

Pros

The user friendly interface and the fact that the engineering team actually listens to the customers by putting recommendations on their road map and rolling out new features!

Cons

I do wish there was an effective date for cost rates. That would greatly help in calculating margins on projects.

Pros

Mavenlink has been a great improvement over our previous solution in its abilities with data and reporting. Looking forward to leveraging more of its features over time.

Cons

There are some key features that cause us problems, mostly around inflexibility in invoicing and time approvals. They just don't fit the way we do business, and we've had to put it workarounds.

Tons of access and reporting that we did not have with our prior in house legacy system. Ease of use, cloud based, the list goes on and on!!

Pros

I love the ease of time and exp reporting. Having an entire project in one spot that is not an email inbox is fabulous. RPF, proposal, agreement, work plan, deliverables and collaboration with staff is all on one project feed in the cloud accessed anytime from anywhere. Ditched the vpn too!!

Cons

Complex. Too flexible, can accomplish many tasks too many different ways. Steep learning curve for power users.

The chat feature is awesome if you have an easy fix. However, you are assigned a Client Success Manager for the more difficult requests. Overall, its pretty user friendly.

Pros

I like the time tracking feature the most about Mavenlink. Each employee must choose a project and the specific milestone they want to put time to in order to enter it on their timesheet.

Cons

I do not like that there you have to use "Groups" as where you put the client info. There is no quick click from the project to the client "group" page nor vice versa. It seems a bit clunky.

Since we are a growing agency with multiple project and hundreds of resources, it is easy to use Kantata for resource planning, allocation, and following that allocation during execution. We can aim for higher resource utilization with this.

Pros

Single Dashboard to review all submitted, resubmitted and pending timesheets which makes weekly timesheet review a simple task. It is much better than Tempo timesheets that I have used in past.

Cons

Nothing in particular but more filter and sorting options on project page would have been more helpful as it takes a while to find what you are looking for in it's current view.

We grew as a company really fast and we need a production/project/quality tool for scaling our consulting firm. We tested Mavenlink and we have been amazed by the subtil mix of consulting services for front usage with customers, while ensuring clean planification and tracking for production.

Pros

Very deep analytics, interface is clean and vision is aligned with today standards.

Cons

Expensive and a bit tough to use at first

Our website design & marketing team was looking for a project management system that could handle simple communication between ourselves and clients, management of both simple and complex projects as well as management of project financials/budgets. After hours and hours of research, we found that Mavenlink was the only system available that could do all of the above. We've been very happy so far with Mavenlink and their development team's noticeably frequent improvements to it. We look forward to using it in the coming years and highly recommend it for teams that need to stay organized and possibly manage project financials as well.

Pros

\- Best overall feature set out of all systems available on the market - Modern, ever-improving interface design

Cons

\- Only a small con: The only hurdle we've had so far is that we are forced to use a separate system to handle our invoicing (due to our industry/billing needs) and Mavenlink is built to use either their inbuilt invoicing system and/or Quickbooks as the basis for invoice management.

Great for intercompany organization and record keeping. Great way to see the efficiency of an employee all in one place. They were supposed to customize some elements of it for our company, but the customizations have been buggy at best.

Pros

We haven't even maxed out its capabilities yet. If we implemented the scheduling feature, we would be much more productive. The integrations are awesome.

The Mavenlink customer support team is quick to respond to any issues we had brought up and, other than the lack of integration with our Quickbooks, it is a solid project management service.

Pros

We've used Mavenlink for a few years, and the biggest asset to it is time tracking and project/task time allocation. The resource availability and scheduling are also nice features.

Cons

The biggest hindrance we encountered was the lack of integration with the Canadian version of Quickbooks we use. This led to some additional work required on our accounting side to export the time entries and bring them into Quickbooks.

We use this mostly for time and expense tracking. For what we use it for, it's very useful and much "lighter" to use than other products I've used in other companies.

Pros

We primarily use it for time and expense. Expense reports are pretty easy. The interface is very intuitive and additional feature to add notes to easy project is useful. It's pretty resource light so works well on slow internet as well.

Cons

It'd be helpful to have some sort of App integration to make receipt uploads easier (maybe this feature exists and isn't implemented in our company?).

Tracking, recording, and predicting a high volume of consulting projects across many clients and several consultants.

Pros

I can get extremely granular on a project or task if I want, but I don't have to. It integrates with Quickbooks extremely well. It allows my account manager and COO to dive as deeply as they want into my projects. Assigning and setting up new projects and tasks is a breeze. It's designed for people who think like me, it provides excellent time tracking integration with quickbooks, and deals with a high volume of projects very smoothly.

Cons

So far, no way of creating a recurring scheduled task in a project. The UI is very text-heavy, it can be a bit much when trying to find something quickly if I don't know where to look already and the potential for granular tracking seems overwhelming until users get comfortable with it.

The folks at Mavenlink have clearly thought every possible eventuality faced by a user on their platform – most of the time, it's a bit like they're in your head and understand what you want to do. Which is nice – the product allows me to track time in multiple ways, and I don't feel too restricted. Editing time entries is also quick and easy. My company uses Mavenlink for: – Project Management – Project Portfolio Management (PPM) – Professional Service Automation ...and so far, it's helped tremendously to all three of the above areas, and beyond.

Pros

As en end-user (and not an admin user for our agency), Mavenlink helps me stay on top of my deliverables, timeframes and deadlines – the automated email notifications only improve on this. It does this much more effectively than other software we've tried in the past. Having something like the Time & Expenses tab is also very helpful.

Cons

Though the demo videos/webinars provided by Mavenlink are helpful, there aren't any guided walkthroughs for when you use the system as a new user. So if you don't put in the time to find your way around, this could be off-putting (at least for some). Little hints, tips, and highlights of things easily missed could be really helpful, especially as (for some new users) there's already a lot of information to digest.

The comment section in the user help shows faults when sending messages. They should look for solutions.

We took on Mavenlink when we needed a 50,000 foot view of our department's capacity. The levels of organization that Mavenlink has brought our team's creatives have gone way beyond our expectations. People know exactly what they need to be working on when they come in in the morning. Plus, it allows us to monitor our team's capacity so we know when we need to add more than one creative to a job or even gives us backup when we need to prove why we need to hire more staff.

Pros

I love the way Mavenlink automates communication as the project moves on down through the workflow. By using dependency arrows on the gantt chart, our creatives are automatically notified when their tasks are ready to start. It's pretty slick!

Cons

How unforgiving the gantt chart is. I realize it's web-based in a browser, but it really needs an "undo" button.

Pros

I love how time tracking on projects is easily implemented. I also love how I can look at time spent on projects per individual and phase easily.

Cons

For our company and discipline, it is desired to see the percentage of time used on a particular phase. We used to have this feature in Archi-Office. Every time slip let us know of the percentage left in the project in order for us to receive a heads up when we are nearing 100% of our fee.
