In general my experience was good when I had to build a brand equity marketing simulation model

Pros

What I like the most is the business orientation of this dynamic system model simulation software

Cons

the only thing that I can say as against is that it is not in Spanish

Excellent. This is the best product currently on the market for large scale system dynamics modeling. The versatility and ability to handle large complex models and data sets is unmatched. Responsiveness of the vendor to technical issues and feature suggestions is outstanding.

Pros

Implements the system dynamics methodology but is capable of adding other methods into model variables to perform non system dynamics data handling and mathematical manipulation (e.g. GIS, operations research) via embedded VB Script. Implements standard MS Windows interface look and feel. Handles large data sets and large models (thousands of objects, millions of data elements). Excellent handling of variable dimensionality (units). Hierarchical modeling features. Built-in optimization and risk analysis. Many sample models and tutorials available. Good built-in user interface tools. Excellent Interactive Development Environment (IDE). Communicates with MS Excel and relational databases and SAP. Has very good debugging and model management tools. Several licensing options including a Software Development Kit for connection to other tools. Free fully-featured 30 day test license. Independent international user group and website.

Cons

I cannot identify any aspect or feature that prevents me from getting my modeling work done. Of course, like all users, I always want Studio to do more! I selfishly would like to see a free crippled 'student' version.

I would recommend it but with cautions on using some of the advance features.

Pros

Overall it is the best System Dynamics Software available. It is able to handle large modeling projects pretty well and has a reasonably good user interface.

Cons

Some features that we would really like to take advantage of such as Stored Runs, while look pretty good on paper do not function well enough to be used. When we report the problems with these features we do not get any feedback from Powersim.
