Easy to get to most of the key features with 1 or at most 2 clicks. Pros It's very easy to use because the layout is very simple and intuitive. I also like the Employee community page, where you get quick update on important announcements in one place. Cons The AI-based help function is not as useful as it could be. Basic queries, like "How to update profile picture?", were not resolved. Instead, it redirected to the HR manager for help. The software is very complicated in ways that it shouldn't be. The inability to view time off requests on the same page as the time card made it very difficult to get a good overview of time needs without constantly changing screens. Pros Not much at all. It was not a pleasant experience using Bamboo HR at our company. I will explain further. Cons Time tracking and entering time and tracking vacation/pto was confusing. It has made submitting time sheets and time off requests sooooo much easier than our old time card system. Being able to track my projects as well as add collaborators has been a wonderful perk of the software. Pros BambooHR is super easy to use. Being able to see all your PTO hours in one place makes tracking things very simple. I am also a huge fan of the Goals section where I can add projects and breakdowns of what benchmarks need hitting and when. I also like that I can tag colleagues when collaborating on projects so we all are on the same page. Cons For me, the limit of 10 item breakdowns per project goal sometimes cause an issue and I have to do multiple goals for the same projects because I run out of boxes. The phone app also bugs out occasionally and I will have to reload it before I can log in or out. It makes it easy with new hires and also with organization of our team. If it integrated more tools like feedback ones, it would be even greater. My overall experience has been really positive so far. The platform feels modern, easy to use and very well organised, which makes completing everyday tasks quick and stress-free. I’ve found it especially helpful for accessing important company information, managing leave requests and staying connected while working remotely. Everything is laid out clearly and the user experience feels very intuitive, even when using features for the first time. Compared to other workplace systems I’ve used before, BambooHR feels much more streamlined and employee-friendly. Overall, it’s made HR-related processes feel simpler, faster and far more efficient. Pros I love how user friendly BambooHR is! Everything feels really clean, simple and easy to navigate, which makes day-to-day tasks much less overwhelming. I especially like that important information is easy to find without having to click through lots of complicated menus or systems. Features like leave requests, employee information, company updates and performance tools all feel very streamlined and intuitive. It’s also really helpful having everything centralised in one platform, especially while working remotely, as it makes communication and accessing HR resources much more convenient. Overall, BambooHR feels modern, organised and efficient, which creates a much smoother employee experience compared to other HR platforms I’ve used previously. Cons Hmmm, I can’t say I’ve found a major con about BambooHR yet! So far, my experience has been really positive and the platform has been easy to use across the features I interact with most regularly. If I had to mention something minor, it would probably just be that there are so many features available that it can take a little time to fully explore and learn everything the platform offers. That said, the layout is intuitive enough that it still feels easy to navigate while learning. Sr. Director, Talent Management Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Bamboo is a Solid HRIS for Growing Organizations" September 4, 2025 4.0 Our usage of Bamboo was more as an overlay system - as a multi-national employer, we have multiple payroll systems which created challenges with reporting and data analytics. The Bamboo platform allowed us to aggregate our data and maintain a unified system for reporting. We do also use the Onboarding module which has definitely helped us streamline the onboarding experience for both the new hire and internal teams. Not having leverage the Payroll & Recruitment modules I can't weigh in, though we did obtain a quote for full-service payroll at one point which was extremely competitive and comprehensive. We didn't pursue it as we weren't ready to move our Payroll at that time, but it was a compelling option! I'd recommend Bamboo for small to midsized organizations that are looking for a platform that has the ability to integrate with a multitude of HR and non-HR platforms, has solid reporting and an overall good user experience. Pros The Bamboo platform is very intuitive and customizable. The availability of integrations enabled us to combine records from multiple payroll platforms so we had one unified system for reporting & analytics. The Bamboo support team is also top notch - super responsive and easy to reach. The cost of the platform is very competitive, though some recent changes were implemented that force you to purchase modules you may not need. Cons Based on our usage of the platform, there was very little we had issues with. Perhaps the one area that we had some challenges with was the Onboarding module and the way you're able to configure tasks. For example, there isn't an option to configure a task based on whether the role is a people manager role. In the reporting functionality, there is an option to filter for whether the person is a Supervisor (i.e. has direct reports). But this option doesn't carry over to Onboarding, so unless you build a task by Job Title and maintain that task, you have to manually add the task when the person being hired is going to be a Supervisor. I mean this in the best way possible: Writing this review is the most I've ever thought about it -- it just does what it should, and otherwise gets out of your way. Pros From a user perspective, it just works the way that it should. It concisely and intuitively serves up the data necessary for an HR platform, it is easy to navigate, and it is easy to configure what widgets in the dash are hidden or visible to further streamline the experience. Cons I'm struggling a bit, because I generally don't have much negative to say about it. It's not the most lightning-fast, taking a few seconds for internal links to be followed and loaded. From the user's perspective, the UI and various functions are easy to understand, and for most day-to-day functions, you are just a click away. Cons The UI for Time Tracking is atrocious, but it used to be good. If you need to view the entirety of your tables, you cannot do that unless you engage in side scrolling. To edit records for a given day, you need to enter edit mode for a specific table and again scroll down to the selected day.
