Overall impressions are positive, we are not planning to change Bamboo for something else yet.

Pros

The customer focus is impressive! Very friendly managers, genuinely willing to help. The implementation of this system in our company was quick and easy. Very fast and qualified customer support team. The tool is really the easiest and most understandable among all analogs.

Cons

Half of the functionality is impossible to customize. I think the developers should take into account that their system can be used by companies from different countries and with different needs. Also, the interface is not translated into all languages, which limits the ability to use the tool.

### "The best thing to happen to our organization."

My overall experience with BambooHR has been nothing but amazing. From implementation to now, they have always been really supportive and great to work with when I have questions or want to customize something within our system.

Pros

It is had to chose just one thing about BambooHR that is most impactful to our business, because really we couldn't live without. Having an HRIS has changed the way we support our employees, and we can see that in so many areas. My top three features would be: time off, performance management and documents.

Cons

I wish that we could download more reports as PDF's or build clean documents to export - sometimes I have to take a screen shot to save something.

### "BambooHR - a great HR tool for companies"

We have been able to retire numerous spreadsheets and finally give employees access to their information, in a clean easy-to-use interface. Requesting time off is no longer a burden for both employees and management as the process used to be too time-consuming.

Pros

I especially like the ability of keeping track of the Paid Time Off (PTO) and other benefits as we used to have to keep numerous spreadsheets updated, which the employees could not access. This way the employees can transparently see how much vacation time or personal time remaining as well as the amount benefits still available. Being able to run reports on the various items is a great timesaver, as it gives us a quick way to notify management each month.

Cons

We don't like the way that it forces the remaining vacation/lieu days to not include scheduled days, forcing you to do a bit of subtraction to know how many days you really have available to book. It seems misleading when the big number that you see includes future booked vacation days. Should hopefully be an easy fix for the dev team to fix up in the near future. The Performance management feature is something that we are just now beginning to use. While it isn't nearly as full-featured as we'd like, it fits in our budget and we will make it work.

Overall good, just disappointed in the new home page layout and the issues with time collection and payroll apps.

Pros

It's user friendly and has the ability to collect PII and e-signatures and automate processes has made onboarding and offboarding so much easier! Employee information is robust and I love that the historical data is easy to see.

Cons

Recent changes to the home page moved important info too far down on the page. Who was off and the upcoming celebrations used to be front and center. Now you have to scroll down to get to them and the links. That info is way more important than who is on my team. I know that. Also, because we are a government contractor we can't use the fully integrated time collection and payroll apps. We tried ones that are supposed to integrate, but had lots of problems.

Overall, the software has been a great asset to our business. The team that helped get us up and running was very organized and helpful.

Pros

This product is very easy to navigate. The layout is similar to facebook so it has made it easy for our staff to use. The customer chat feature has been very helpful. The support that Bamboo offers HR professionals is exceptional. We had paper employee files prior to Bamboo and this product has made my life easier.

Cons

I wish the signature request would allow to customized certain job titles to sign off. I currently run 5 locations so the options to have the manager or manager's manager approve has been challenging. I have to create several different documents to make sure that the proper people are doing the approvals. Overall, the software has been a great asset to our business.

Overall I think it's easy to use and the interface is clean and easy to understand. However, there's room for improvement in most of the main features available for employees. At the moment I think there are probably better softwares for HR management (at least form the employee point of view, which is my case)

Pros

For employees I'd say it's fairly easy to use. The dashboard is very straightforward and most of the tools I need to use in my day to day (to request vacations, medical visits, etc) are accesible from there and I don't have to spend time searching. They also let you customise different types of days off, which is also nice from the employee's perspective. The calendar is also very nice, I think it's one of my favourite things from the software and the filters works well.

Cons

I think the hierarchy of the navigation could be improved. I only have the links "Home" "My info" and "People" and the only way to see any page inside "My info" is entering inside the page. Maybe they could add a dropdown with the pages that appear inside "My info" when you hover over the link in the menu.The cards inside the Dashboard don't link to the actual pages they refer to (when you click over them you expand them, but that's it).The "Upcoming Time Off" list, I don't think it's very intuitive. I'd rather have a calendar or something more visual to be able to understand which day of the week they correspond to (it's not the first time I mess up requesting a day in the calendar because the week starts on Sunday and I haven't realised about until later on). It would be much easier to check if the days I've requested are correct.

Experience has always been very good even if it does not go with improvements. At the beginning, I was quite impressed. Today, I am sometimes disappointed by the lack of operational common sense and the poor adequation with local requirements. As I pointed it out when I entered into the contractual relationship, it is still a US centric tool.

Pros

It is easy to use and most of the modules are well thought.

Cons

There is nothing I don't like, rather things I would improve: - org chart: we should be able to build matricial views - we shoudl be able to create open positions visible in the org chart - would be powerfukl if we could create customized fields - Reports are good but does not fit management requirements. As already mentioned in previous feedback, we should be able to create powerpoint presentation or management report. Every month, I have to run queries, extract in excel or do print screens to build my executive report. - Usually, customer support is good but very often I receive standard answers thta I know because I always read the tutorials before asking a question. - Some improvements are sometimes regression (ex: benefits) - The fact that the system forces some dates (like for the eNPS or the performance) is very annoying - As already mentioned, some API with important tools like payroll, Office365...should be a must

Exceptional!

Pros

I most enjoy how stream lined BambooHR is. The system is extremely user friendly and easy to navigate around. Everything you need is in one place and easy to share across all departments and employees.

Cons

If I could change one feature it would be the ability to upload files when you are creating new training programs, benefits, onboarding packets, etc rather than having to go to the file section to upload and then find them in the system/program you are creating. I also wish when rehiring a past employee that you could send the new hire paperwork packet and onboarding email before their start date. By not allowing this, it holds up the onboarding process to the first day of employment and eliminates the efficiency of having these documents and systems electronically.

Implementing was easy and the Bamboo staff are VERY friendly, engaged and efficient. I especially appreciate the chat feature if I'm in a bind. We really have high praise for the software.

Pros

Time off management, staff calendar with holidays, document signing, onboarding, tracking annual evaluations, pay history, org chart, document organizing, shared files with staff, hiring... I like so much about the software!

Cons

The Trainings feature; it doesn't quite work with how we need to enter data for our non-profit. We still use it but it could be better. I also don't love the Benefits tab. Entering data on the backend for me is always confusing.

Reason for choosing BambooHR

I honestly can't remember who else we reached out to. It was clear we thought Bamboo far exceeded other products. Plus one of our other Aging Office friends recommended Bamboo (Blair Senior Services).

We are a school and our teachers don't want to spend a ton of time on their computers trying to find the information they are looking. BambooHR's website and app are so straightforward, our teachers picked up on everything very quickly. There are always learning curves involved any time new software and processes are released to an organization but the whole experience went much more smoothly than I ever expected.

Pros

I have gone through implementation of payroll services with four different providers over the years and BambooHR was by far the easiest process with the fewest issues. While there was work involved, their expectations were very clear and they worked with us to determine the best way to manage unique situations specific to our company. The system is very intuitive and easy to use.

Cons

There are some small things here and there that we have encountered and have to work around, but customer services is always very responsive and help us find a solution. We have made suggestions to BambooHR's feedback team and they have already implemented some changes to help with some of these issues. They are always making improvements and additions to their products.

It's been great using and growing with BambooHR; customer service is always so quick to respond and so helpful. The system is easy to understand which is helpful when our employees run in to any issues.

Pros

BambooHR is super easy to use which makes you want to use it more. Since we've been working with you all (~5 years now), it's been great to see the platform grow and for customer feedback to be taken in to create updates and improvements where necessary. I like that so much of the system is modifiable to what we as a company need, and of course the fact that there can be various access levels helps you feel confident that the right people are seeing the right information.

Cons

It would be nice to have 1 BambooHR account across our 3 different regions, but have there be regional variations that can be modified for each regions needs. I can't remember the specifics, but I remember there was a lot of headache in using the one account for all 3 regions (how we initially signed up for BambooHR); but after all these years, I wish we still had some things connected to get that wider global view in to information more easily. And this would allow us to use integrations with Lattice, Slack, etc more easily.

The implementation of BambooHR is done very easily in a do-it-yourself mode, with the assistance of well-designed tutorials and the very responsive support team of BambooHR. It took 3 weeks, dedicating a few hours each week, to get BambooHR up and running for personnel administration and performance management. BambooHR takes care of several things including sending reminders for employee satisfaction surveys, peer feedback, or performance assessments. Working with BambooHR is easy, even for employees who use the system only occasionally.

Cons

BambooHR is a feature-rich, yet simple software that offers limited customization. If you have requirements that are not contemplated by BambooHR, you will struggle to find appropriate support from this software. However, for small-to-mid-size companies, you should perhaps think of whether your requirements do really add value to your company and must be implemented, or whether you could simply adapt your processes to what BambooHR offers as a standard solution.

Overall, really love the platform and would recommend it. Company is always trying to improve and continuously rolls out new products or enhancements.

Pros

While there is training that comes with implementing any new software, it took myself and my team no time at all to learn how to use BambooHR and get that ROI. Employees also find it easy to use which has cut down on the amount of questions my team and I get. Saving us time. Love the UI/UX - easy to read/find information.

Cons

Payroll 100% needs to be improved. If you are a company of 10 or less, TRAX Payroll will probably work for you, but anything over that and you have to manually do too many things. Also, the platform is lacking in robust features to help automate and streamline payroll.

Great tool and easy to use! Setting up profile information will take a bit long, especially if you're leading a large team (but that can be done by the individuals themselves), but if you commit to use all of its features, managing large groups and interact with them is much easier! I do recommend using it!

Pros

As an employee who joined a company where BambooHR was used, the interface is very friendly and easy to use. The system allows you visibility to information across the team, so it is easy to set reminders and deliver messages to more than one member. Also, you can see people's hobbies, set reminders for birthdays and so on.

Cons

Not one of the Cons exactly, but BambooHR is a vast tool with KPI management settings which, when not used properly, will be a big waste of time. For example, if you don't add your results, make notes of your feedback, and 1:1s, the system become useless, because all the reminders and KPIs notifications aren't something you can rely on. On the other hand, adding notes to all of this will take some time, so you can decide from day one whether you will add those info into the system, or whether you will have a different CRM for people management only.

Due to implementing BambooHR, we moved from having 8-10 spreadsheets that required daily maintenance to being able to have one system of record. This has allowed us to onboard employees more seamlessly during the COVID-19 pandemic. We went from PDF time off request forms and a Google Out of the Office calendar that we had to manually maintain to using time off in BambooHR and implementing the iCal feeds so everyone knows who is out of the office at a glance.

Pros

Getting employee buy in and adoption is easy due to how intuitive the end-user experience is with BambooHR, especially with Google Single Sign On. As the administrator, I have the ability to make changes and implement things quickly on the backend without having to make a request and wait for someone else to make the changes for me. Having a streamlined and consistent onboarding and offboarding process ensures that new hires are set up for success and offboarding employees accounts and data are turned off in a timely manner.

Cons

BambooHR may not have as many robust features as some of the other HRIS out there, but they are always adding new features and making improvements, which is good to see. You may have to add some app integrations in areas like recruiting and benefits administration, if you want all the bells and whistles.

We were cited for not having up to date employee personnel files in an internal audit. We implemented BambooHR and the staff had a fit. They fought the change but were forced into compliance. They are still not excited about all the features but this is our first year and we expect NEXT year to be both challenging and exciting as we bring on new features of the portal and develop strategies to engage them in the communications with their supervisors and other training opportunities. They will learn to love the portal because there they will find exciting surprises every month.

Pros

All our personnel files, online in one portal and easily accessible to supervisors and employees.

Cons

Bottlenecks when sending information to upper management for signatures and 3rd level sign-off. There must be a way to MAKE THEM check the portal and sign off on documents other than leaving them out of the signatory loop or making their signature 'optional'.

Reason for choosing BambooHR

BambooHR has all the services we needed and some we were not ready to implement. It has the power to do Payroll, and TimeClock but we are using another system for those currently and I could not swing management to convert all the financials. I needed a system that would automate the Human Resources Personnel files and allow for e-signatures on document at the same time give the employees access to their personnel files and ability to update their profiles.

I enjoy using BambooHR as I can easily find what I need when I need it. Reporting is great as well and incredibly user friendly system overall.

Pros

I really enjoy the user friendly nature of this product. It is easy to navigate and learn on your own how to function everything. I have enjoyed this software more than other HR platforms I’ve used in the past.

Cons

The performance management and support could definitely use some help. As well as the training function as it doesn’t allow reminders to employees themselves to take training.

Our overall experience with BambooHR has been nothing but excellent. Their onboarding team was phenomenal every step of the way. We had very good knowledge of how to use the software and felt comfortable from the start. The training is so good! Ongoing support has also been helpful, but honestly, we haven't needed it very much. Everything just works!

Pros

BambooHR is a fantastic product! Having all your employees, benefits, time tracking, and payroll all in one place makes managing HR so easy. We do not have a designated head of HR, so having this software helps automate things when possible and makes it easy to stay on top of things that cannot be automated. I like that you can add modules as needed. We really like their payroll and having it integrated, but you don't have to use it.

Cons

It's hard to think of something we don't like. It would be nice if the performance management module were more robust. They are constantly updating this area, and hopefully, it will improve to a level that will meet our needs in the near future.

Pros

I like how the software is very user-friendly. Employees can easily navigate to all the features by themselves. In addition, they have a great customer service team! I can get in touch with them either online or by phone call, and they are very helpful and friendly. Usually, I am able to fix the problem within a few minutes.

Cons

Things that BambooHR can improve on are those small little things that might tailor to the individual companies. For example, it is a little hard for employees to make changes to their time clocking feature if they forget to clock in.Our company doesn't give vacation time accrual if the employee is on unpaid time off, but I have to manually deduct it at this point since they don't have the function. I also hope they have the feature to remind employees to clock in and out on the phone. It is fine since we don't have a lot of employees, but it might be a problem once we have more people. They do welcome you to make suggestions, and I am hoping to see these changes in the future.

Overall positive experience. It serves the purpose for what I use with org chart, time off management, storing benefits and company policies, and direct report and personal profile info.

Pros

I am a user of BambooHR and find it useful to accessing the company org chart. I can search by name to see who sits on what team. This is helpful since my company is growing and hiring a lot of people. It can be confusing in a virtual setting to know what teams people are on, so I check frequently. I also like how easy it is to request time off and approve requests from the manager side. These are the main 2 functions I use.

Cons

I think my company isn’t using all the functionality and we have some disjointed systems, but that isn’t a fault of the tool. Since I use the org chart feature most, it would be great to be able to click into names and see a basic profile with their contact info.

The absence tracking, vacation requests, user profiles, and today's absence list are all fantastic features. I wish I had a more efficient way to keep track of time than updating it daily.

It's a breeze to use and geared toward beginners. There is no learning curve for end users; you can begin using it on the first day, and the API documentation is self-explanatory for developers.

It has an air of antiquity about it. The site's current facade could use some work to make it more appealing. When utilizing their API, the custom fields presented some challenges. However, I couldn't utilize the findBy api by all of the fields we had, which slowed down several projects.

Easy to use - the interface is clean and well-organized, making it easy to find the information you need quickly. Good customer support and is a great tool for small or medium businesses. Although it's missing some important features, but it seems the company is slowly implementing updates and improving it.

Cons

Reporting is very weak for Hiring/applicant tracking. There are useless reports like "Candidates by Veteran Status and Gender" , while the information i need the most would be like success rate - how many candidates applied and how many of those were hired in the last quarter? OR which roles are receiving the least applications, OR employee retention rates and many more missing reports.
