The customer service is outstanding and I love the hold music and the overall tone of the company. This is a growing company that makes improvements all the time based on suggestions from users. Cons You cannot generate individual employee reports such as timesheets or payroll record without exporting to another program and then deleting what you do not need. Easy to use and has cut way back on paperwork and copies we had to make. We literally have gone from 40 employees to 78 and this process has really helped us. Pros We love the onboarding. It is clear and precise and those responsible for various steps can see and participate in the process. All the paperwork can be completed for onboarding on line. Fantastic and it is saved in the right files. Also like that our annual renewal paperwork we required from all staff is streamlined and staff can sign off on it on line. Reviews and increases are easy to do now. And lastly, we get the right information to the right departments in a timely manner! Cons Bamboo is very easy to work with as far as being innovative and creating processes as we can. It would be great if we could add links to forms. It has been easy for employees to navigate, the ability to talk to a live person "chat with us now" function is great for getting things done or getting answers quickly. Bamboo is also cntantly updating the platform - the 30/30 videos are very helpful to stay up to date on improvements. Pros It is easy to use, looks great and easily customizable. Cons Some features like having a "search" function for company announcements or the ability to set up email alerts for changes. For example I would like to receive an email when there is an addition or change to the "notes" tab. Implementation was easy and almost pain-free, but our implementation team did a great job. This program makes my life and our associates lives easier. Pros All features we use on BambooHR have made my life easier. Applicant Tracking, PTO Tracking, Onboarding, Goal Setting, etc. I could not handle the volume of work needed for this position without BambooHR. Cons The only downfall for us being a construction company is that BambooHR does integrate or "talk to" the accounting software we use. Payroll is done in house and job costed in house which makes things more complicated than other industries. There are plenty of integrations and options for employee self service. The customer support is also very helpful. You cannot go wrong with this. Pros It has a very user friendly interface which is easy to navigate. It's also easy to onboard new employees. The integration with linkedin is seamless and easy to use. HR reporting is great too, making it easy to track the performance of employees. Cons The pricing options could be better compared to other ATS solutions. It also doesn't have a built in LMS system for which companies need to invest in another resource. February 11, 2022 5.0 Staff really like Bamboo as it makes booking time off much easier, also signing documents and accessing their information. The Bamboo Support Team are amazing - whenever I have needed to contact them, they have responded swiftly and are always great to deal with, even if the issue is that I am being a bit of an idiot!! Pros Just being able to organise all employee information and documents in one, safe, place is great, as well as easy time off booking and tracking. The recruitment side of things is so easy with Bamboo - again, it keeps everything together in one place, including correspondence with candidates, and the application, offer, and onboarding processes are easy to set up and save an enormous amount of time. Signature templates - we really love these! Being able to send out documents and get proper electronic signatures on them is a huge benefit for us. Cons We would love to be able to use the Payroll function, but we are UK-based, and it only works in the US. It is very American in language, and it would be good to be able to change some of that, e.g. use CV instead of Resume. Small things, and certainly not game changers in terms of us using Bamboo. Reason for choosing BambooHR We were initially going to go with People HR, as it is significantly cheaper than Bamboo. But, in the initial set-up discussions we realised we would not be able to configure it in the way that would work best for us, and we would be able to do that with Bamboo, so we went back to Bamboo. Employment history is also useful and knowing the information on past employees is stored safely in BambooHR is very helpful as I am confident this information is not going to be lost or damaged if there is a computer crash, etc. The software is very user friendly and also provides an opportunity to onboard new employees with their help! Self-service is the wave of the future and also helps the new team member become familiar with the software before they even begin working for our company. This has been very useful and I have received multiple compliments on our on-boarding process through the use of BambooHR. It's also a nice touch to introduce new employees electronically before they have met. Goal tracking has been useful in many ways. It keeps the managers engaged with their direct reports and also allows senior management to keep an eye on what is happening as far as education and growth. It helps us keep a birds-eye view on performance and growth on a continuous basis. If a team member is falling behind it's a useful tool to have in our arsenal to show them where they are falling behind and why there are concerns regarding their growth and performance. Bottom line, It helps get to the bottom of issues before they become major problems. Cons To be honest I haven't come across any components of the software that I do not care for. Pros The support is quick when replying to requests. Overall I love using BambooHR. Cons 1\. The pre-existing reports are not 100% trustable. For example: if you book vacations and they're not approved yet, they won't count as used vacations, and it already caused constraints when exporting info for payroll purposes. A few days after the payroll was completed, the manager approved vacations and it didn't count for payroll. 2. The applicant tracking system could have a stronger tagging functionality, to make it easier to categorize candidates and find them when recruiting. Cons We have so many divisions - filtering down to the one you want doesn't take long but I would have organised our divisions better during set up! However, I would need to strategize how to get folks engaged. Many of our employees have Bamboo for time off requests, but they have trouble taking advantage of some of the other features available in Bamboo. Pros Bamboo is a great value for basic HR needs. The pricing is what makes it really competitive, and it's the reason my company has used it for such a long time. Cons As my company has grown, we've really felt the lack of certain features you'll find in bigger/badder software meant for midsize and enterprise clients. Plus, communication between management, employees, and HR has never been more streamlined! Before BambooHR, we communicated primarily through email throughout the company. Our HR office was stacked with file storage to organize employee files, and information required us to be on-site in the HR office to access. Announcements were often posted in our break room and through email. Pros From a manager's standpoint, it's incredibly easy to navigate around BambooHR to find annual review documents, approve OOO/PTO requests, and access timecards. The software has also provided a way to quickly see who is out of the office at any given moment, access our other HR resources, implement a digital company directory, and sign off on HR forms. I no longer need to search emails for PTO request approvals or other communications—I simply access my BambooHR inbox from my laptop or even on my mobile device while I travel. In addition, BambooHR has also allowed us to create a branded portal with our own brand colors and logo, which is quite a nice touch. BambooHR's mobile app makes it simple to find incoming out of office requests, company links, a directory, and file access. I can also submit requests and access my own information pretty quickly. Cons There is facial recognition available the app, but it's a toggle that needs to be activated within Settings once you log in. There isn't a pop-up when logging in that offers you this option, which makes logging into the mobile app a little clunky upon first use. In both the mobile device and the browser app, a calendar view provides a summary of who is out of office each date. However, there is not a filter option to isolate this view to your direct reports. This makes it difficult to quickly approve time-off requests if you are unable to quick reference a calendar for when team members will be out of office. Review Source KP Kim P. I am an HR Consultant so I work with a lot of my client's HRIS systems and this one is, hands down, the best. It is so easy to use and has everything you will ever need. It is the one software program I recommend to all my clients now. I happened upon it because one of my current clients was already using it and I was sold from that point forward. When I see people list cons on there, I wonder if they are really using it to the full capacity or just not sure how to best utilize it. I have yet to have any issues and I've been using it for at least 5 years now. Cons The only con I see is when BambooHR does the implementation as it just takes too long. Pros The best thing about BambooHR is how user-friendly it is for all of our employees. The interface is so efficient which limits the amount of time we spend training new employees on the software. I also love the level of support we receive from BambooHR when we need it. Their customer service is top-tier! Cons Although we have seen Bamboo grow and adapt in many ways over the years, there are still features that we'd love to see come to life. I appreciate the straightforward UX of the program. I like that I can easily use the time tracking system for my vacation or sick days. Likewise, I always know the company structure, and at the right moment, I can find the contacts of the colleague I need. Cons Outdated UI design, but it isn't scary at all. The customer service is better than any other vendor I have EVER worked with. Pros We are a small HR team and tracked everything on spreadsheets. This took an exorbitant amount of staff time to keep updated. I love the time tracking, our mother organization deducts leave one month after it is taken and so no one ever really knew how much leave they had. The electronic signature feature has been a game changing time saver. Supervisors being able to view employee documents at any time without having to come to our main location to pull the heavy paper file has been fantastic. And I always have current data at my fingertips including historical items that we used to have to go wade through old memos to reconstruct. Cons There's not much to not love. I wish there were a few more features on the application part. I wish I could have files stored that employees could fill out and forward to us without having to ask us to send them a signature request. Cons There isn't a single feature of this program that I don't enjoy. A new feature that could be helpful is the ability to specify which days of the week a person is "off," so that they do not appear in the calendar at all on those days they are not scheduled to work. Thier levels of service is consistent from the sales team to support team. This makes approaching them with queries or concerns extremely easy. Feedback is timely and consise. Pros Bamboo removes the use of multiple systems and platforms that don't speak to each other . All employee data from oboarding to offboarding is housed in one area where relevant persons have the relevant access to view. Ease of use and acces to mulitple learning experiences also sets Bamboo apart from other systems tested. Cons There are a few things in the Performance module that are not customizable. In our context scoring is extremely imortant to us. Notifications on when persons complete reviews would also make this more effecient. Right now I have to manually check to see who is completed.
