I have had a good experience, there is more I want from it as far as reporting. But, the main goal we had for BambooHR was to provide better onboarding for employees and that has gone very well.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use the platform. I also really like the dashboards.

Cons

I think the reporting out of gusto could be better. There are a few dashboards that don't match up to the reports. I also think bamboohr could stand to integrate have APIs with other major payroll softwares to ease the benefit updates around enrollment time.

I have used other platforms in the past and Bamboo is easy to use, navigate and deploy to users.

Pros

Bamboo is easy to use and the interaction with employees, potential employees and applicants is makes my job and that of the team simple. The reports Bamboo generates are easy to create, access and modify.

Cons

I would like Bamboo to have and allow for text communication and not just email. Most employees reply and respond to their mobile devices.

Pros

Where do I even begin? All other HR systems out there should take note: BambooHR is how you do HR. My company was in need of software that dramatically cut down our paper usage, particularly for the onboarding process. The paperwork folder that I'd hand each new hire on their first day, was far too much and too overwhelming. With BambooHR, we are now able to have that onboarding process be completely electronic and have each new employee complete their new hire packet before their start date, at their leisure. That way, their first day (really, just about their entire first week) could be spent participating in valuable hands-on training sessions. No one wants to be bogged down with a massive folder of documents on their very first day at work, and the likelihood of employees retaining any of that information while a ton of other thoughts and nerves are flying through their heads on that first day, is VERY low. With BambooHR, new and veteran employees can revisit that information anytime they'd like. The PTO feature is top-notch: employees can view a time-off calendar within the software and request off without having to physically check-in with HR or their direct reports, first. All that's needed from me or directs, is approval or denial of such requests. Job benefits, bonuses, raises, and a whole slew of other job-related information can be tracked in BambooHR, making it the most comprehensive, easy-to-use HR software that my company has ever used.!

Cons

There are, in all honestly, absolutely no cons to this software. It'll fit into any company's budget, and I promise, your employees will enjoy it just as much as your HR team does.

Pros

Very good - Email notifications is an asset, as you do not have to constantly log in and monitor activity on the site- you can review you emails to see if htere has been any new candidates or even notifications of new hires/teminations within the organization.

Pros

Employee information, on boarding, policies and hiring all in one location Mitigates the requirement to have multiple spreadsheets and resumes having to be correlated for HR tracking. New hire information is compiled and historical records for former employees are also retained for vetting refererence information etc.

Cons

Organization stucture shows the names and titles of employees, but does not have any other information i.e. branch/dept which would halp when trying to establish contact with the co-worker from other departments.

Easy to use, easy to utilize. The concept of electronically integrating new employees is a significant benefit. Because they're brimming with clerical work and engaging employees before they start, the first day is more than simply administrative labour.

Cons

There is inadequate reports and analyses tool kits. Conditions of cancellation applied to transactions performed by mistake during the booking holidays. Employees can arrange holidays even when they are not available.

The management is excellent, and the objectives are simple to achieve. Despite the fact that COVID-19 had relegated workers to work from home. Business continuity was ensured by the software.

BHR is great for smaller business needs. The functionality of the program for smaller HR/Payroll teams is great. For larger employee count that does multiple bonus and other unique payroll needs are a bit more manual in getting the system to work the way needed.

Pros

Integration of Trax payroll to BHR. Eliminating Remote Link and allowing more direct integration from HR to Payroll has been a great upgrade. Payroll processing is smoother and faster.

Cons

Need to see more Payroll reports in BHR and allow for custom report writing of Payroll data.

Pros

First, Bamboo HR is very user friendly. Our employees love this feature. It houses everything in one place for us. Also, the integration to some of our other software is amazing (Ex: TripActions). On the payroll side, I love how I can make the change on the bamboo side and it rolls over.

Cons

I believe that the TRAX payroll side can be improved. It seems that platform needs upgrading.

My overall experience with BambooHR has been fantastic. From day one, it has been easy to use and made my job as a manger easier.

Pros

We are a small business, so our HR is outsourced. Bamboo has been easy to deploy from the start. It is user friendly and easy to train your employees to use. It helps tremendously in tracking all of the mundane manual tracking we used to do before we had bamboo!

Cons

Perfomance Management system. I would like to see bamboo have a more involved system or atleast customizable in the future.

I don’t like that I’m unable to resend a document electronically to a candidate if they make a mistake on a form. I then have to email it, hope they have a printer and capability to send it back.

Great experience. Our HR manager picked it up and ran with it. And I've recommended it to several of our clients. Great solution.

Pros

The visibility into my team, reporting of things like headcount over time, and the flexibility of the info on reports that either I or my HR manager can build. Reviews, and the reminders to ensure people get those done.

Cons

Performance management is a little lacking, and compensation plans and bonus plans aren't flexible to set up, they're pretty out of the box and don't account for (for example) quarterly bonuses and commission plans (i.e. inputting a number and getting at commission payout number based on a formula, then being able to automate that message from the HR system to the employee.Hob listing options are also a little lacking, especially with doing remote job offerings where we wanted to target certain regions around the world.

It has revolutionised our HR processes and functions and how people interact with the company. We introduced this at the beginning of Covid and it was rolled out very quickly. We as a company love it, so much so we're integrating it with our new T&A/payroll system as we're just not ready to let go of BambooHR.

Pros

The UX is so user friendly for managers and employees. The reporting suite is fantastic and easy to use. I really struggle to fault the product. It was so easily integrated into our company and with a 6 week implementation! The software updates are fantastic and readily available.

Cons

There really needs to be an ability to archive old signed documents. The signed documents report page is extremely messy.

The combination of an extremely flexible system and a support team that is always quick to respond with an answer makes this one of our most favorite SaaS purchases. As our business continues to evolve, BambooHR is right there to support our needs.

Pros

The overall flexibility of the system and the always available feel it gives our employees. A friendly interface that is not intimidating like the much larger HRIS systems.

Cons

The biggest issue we run across is the missing ability to schedule reports for delivery. Our business model is such that push of information in quite important. We have needed to use the API feature in order to pull data and make it available on a schedule to close this gap.

Overall I have had a really great experience. So much so that we kept BBHR even though our payroll company has an HR database included. But BBHR is super simple and clean. We wanted to switch to BBHR payroll, but it isn't powerful enough to run payroll the way we need to run it. Then, I was on the old plan from their early days and they just eliminated it and are automatically moving us to the current plan, which will be about double what we pay now. So, we are exiting the software and will work with our payroll company HR software that is not as pretty, but will save me more than $1,000 a month. I'm definitely bummed they are pushing us into a more expensive plan. For how we use it, it just doesn't make sense to keep it.

Pros

The simplicity and beauty of the design. It is not encumbered with lots of deep menus and convoluted ways to find what you need. So clean and intuitive. That's my favorite feature of BBHR.

Cons

The price is unreasonable and the storage allotment is simply ridiculous. We don't need the full blown features of the software, yet we have to pay a lot of money to have just the basic, simple features that we use. I wish they had a lower plan that allowed access to the database features. Also, the storage is a thorn in my side with BBHR. They charge a ridiculous amount for additional storage and the storage runs out after being on the system for a few years. You can buy storage from Google or Apple or most places for pennies. But with BBHR you pay 100 times as much as any other service. They get you locked in and then you can't get out unless you delete former employees or pay a ton for additional storage. When I called about it, even the rep said, "I know, it's so over priced." Listen to your employees BBHR.
