We have seen an increase in applicants and we save time on a daily basis through the use of the product. Pros BambooHR made our application process smooth for both administrative users and applicants. We are able to track someone from first application to hiring and then easily transfer over to the onboarding process. Cons Our only negative was that it did not integrate well with our payroll system that we were already utilizing, but even then I think we could work around this if we had the skillset to develop. Customer service always get back right away with clear steps and explanations. Pros The employee time off function is user friendly and well laid out. Employees can easily go in and request time off based on their needs; sick days, vacation days, unpaid time off, bereavement etc.. Once the request is made it is sent to the employees manager/supervisor for approval/denial and then uploaded and recorded into the employees BambooHR. Employees can view time off history, and up coming request. From an HR prospective this easily notifies, calculates remaining time, and records time off requests. Any adjustments to time off can be easily edited and adjusted. Cons Lack of training videos for administrators to access. December 6, 2022 5.0 As an administrator I love using BambooHR, and as an employee it's great too. I have gotten a lot of feedback from staff that they like the user friendly interface and enjoy using BambooHR. It really feels like a one stop shop for us with database management, reporting, time tracking & performance. Pros BambooHR is SO easy to use! For both admin and employees. It pulls many disparate parts of HR together for us. My talent management person loves it! It's easy to use, nice to look at, and I love the sense of humor that BambooHR seems to embody. It really automates things while keeping a personal touch and enabling us to do so as well. Cons I wish the reporting module was more sortable within BambooHR. When I share reports with supervisors I don't want them to have to pull a csv and sort there. I would like them (for example) to be able to pull a time off balance report and sort by that balance, or some other column, rather than just the employee name. User friendly and I like that they send out updates monthly on changes they made and things that are coming up. They are always improving and their help desk is helpful. Cons Can't think of anything. Maybe have it catered more to the Country the organization resides in. When I enter my current HR position, there was no HR system in use. All reports were completed using spreadsheets. Bamboo has been a time saver, and I have been able to navigate the system with ease. When the occasions occur whereby I may need assistance, Bamboo's customer service department is easy to reach, pleasant to talk to, and customize the conversations to meet the division's needs. Also, I love the hiring system. It allows my department to provide offer letters and have access to Indeed & Glassdoor and ZipRecruiter as a part of our contracted services. Cons My division would like to use the Time-Off Tracking system, but it needs to integrate with the Bright system which is currently used by Payroll. Reason for choosing BambooHR Very competitive price for all the bells and whistles I believe that our division is the only one using BambooHR in the state. The others have elected programs that offer payroll/HR combo. Our division must use Bright because the county requires it. It would be nice to have payroll with HR, but it is not a requirement. All employees give great feedback about the day to usage. Cons There is NO room for customizations. Some areas we create our own work around as there was a HARD no to make changes. When we were onboarding, we were told we would be able to have customizations - and that was not the case. This has allowed us to work remotely, easily track and hire, and work collaboratively not in the same room. Cons We have had a very positive experience with bamboohr. Pros BambooHR has been such a quick and easy implementation for our company and is so user friendly. We have employees ranging from 21-65 and all have been able to quickly and easily jump on board with using BambooHR in their daily functions. The transition was almost seamless. Cons I wish that it was easier to test onboarding tasks and processes without creating test employees. I also wish that you could cancel signature assignments should you realize that they are no longer needed instead of the employee having to fill them out regardless as that can be an inconvenience to the employee. If you're a large organization, you'd probably be better served with other tools, but it's hard to find other larger HRIS tools that offer the quality that BambooHR offers. Pros Super intuitive UX, offers a lot of beneficial tools for small to mid-size companies. Always upgrading and improving their product to better the employee experience. Cons Payroll and performance systems are a little lacking, and would also really like to see BambooHR go fully into the surveying functionality more than they currently do. Pros I can't even specifically mention features, it's almost everything that I like about BambooHR. It let's me sets goal, do performance management, recruitment, onboarding, leave management and administer benefits. I can also upload any document and assign signature for any registered employee. I find this very easy because I used to do this with pdf version which required back and forth. Now I can request a signature to any concerned parties. I also love how easy it is for recruitment, screening and setting status and communicating that status has never been easy. It also sends an automated email when performance time is due and I like it because I might be swapped and forget to fill in my performance review. Cons The app for the mobile can be improved. I have an admin access on Bamboo but I can't upload documents for signature request and also do the other things I can do on my laptop. Pros BambooHR is a platform with very well-designed features for the overall management of our company's human resources.It has allowed me to identify weaknesses and lazy employees that prevented better overall performance.It allows us to calculate salaries and deductions accurately, which saves us a lot of time. We were using our accounting system, spreadsheets, and scanned paper to manage HR. It has really freed up menial administrative time. Pros I like the ease of use for the average user. Our team, as well as new, onboarding employees, can figure out nearly everything without a problem. I like the constant innovation. Cons I do not like the forced access control of some features where assumption by BambooHR effectively dictates a company structure in regards to software interaction, withholding some approval features behind full-admin access. It also does not work well with the fluid reporting structure of the construction industry, where direct report relationships change rapidly; this causes problems with time off approval, performance reviews, goal setting, the org chart, etc. I also want to use two-factor authentication, but do not want to force employees to use another app to do so. I don't think we use the performance management tool as it is intended and I'm not sure our people actually enjoy that aspect of it. We are such a small company that feedback is usually immediate between manager/employee Pros I feel this system is very intuitive and easy to use. It's not hard to find your way around it or to find help topics if you are stuck. It's perfect for a small size company. I like how the company keeps you updated on what they are working on and how it will affect you. I like that we can pay a year in advance. The help desk is responsive in a timely manner. Cons I think we came in early to BambooHR and it was very basic. I'm seeing new features and product offerings though often and i've liked the changes they have made to the system. With COVID- i would like to see more availability of pulse surveys available to all clients instead of only those buying into a certain package. Customer service is very responsive and helpful. I am so grateful that my predecessor chose this product. Pros It is very easy to use and streamlined. It is very customizable and the reports and analytics have made my job so much easier. The more I continue to use the software the more features of it I implement with my staff. It is great to have all the information I need in one place and I can decided who has access to which features. Pros Bamboo HR allows me to track and apply for Paid time off, sick, and all forms of leave. It's also tracked in one place where you're able to see when it was applied for to keep track. Pros Easy to use, innovative, unique, and affordable. Support by phone is great, support by email is usually helpful, but with our time zone difference I always have to wait an extra business day to hear back. Chat support is hit or miss, but usually helpful for the most part. Cons Some reports/features have glitches (takes extra time to call or email support but they eventually get resolved), some things like adjusting pay schedules or writing complex PTO policies can really be daunting even to someone with 6 years BambooHR experience. We have an internal workflow in which whenever there's an onboarding/offboarding; it will send a message to the IT Depot (that would be me) to prepare equipment for the new hire, another one to the Accounting Depot to set up payroll, and so on. My favourite section of BambooHR is the assets tab, which gives you insights on what equipment each employee holds, when it was assigned, serial number, return date, and so on. We love how simple, intuitive, and customizable are the employee's profiles. We have employees in multiple countries, so the fields and requirements for each is custom according to our needs. Depending on your needs, you're able to search and pull data easily. Cons Email notifications can get quite spammy, especially during hiring seasons. I'm an admin user in BambooHR, and from time to time my inbox would get filled with BambooHR notification from new hires, probation period reminds, etc. All that is great, however, there's no direct way to disable email notification from a user's end. He is very supportive and has remained a support since implementation. Overall, a great software and very happy with our choice. Pros The software is really easy to use and has saved the entire team a lot of time, our admin processes have been halved in time due to our old system being quite difficult to use and clunky. Itis admin user friendly and user friendly for the rest of the company. We were supported a lot through the implementation phase and no questions were unanswered. Sometimes systems integration can be boring, but bamboo seemed to turn it on its head and make it interesting. Bamboo offers a range of videos and work instructions that mean figuring out problems is quite simple. Cons The support side after implementation were a little slower than we expected on one occasion that involved billing and I felt like I was chasing for an answer for some time. It has saved me several hours a month for my workload and others. Managers can approve their team's time off and have other views of employee data. This saves everyone time and decreases company bottlenecks. Pros We were attracted to BambooHR for the ease of the policy and time off tracking features. Cons Now we have upgraded to the advantage package and the software is very learn as you go. There is a large database to self teach and help support email but there isn't an account manager or someone who onboards you per se.
