Pros

BamboHR is a great HR tool to help keep your employees' information safe, current and available at your fingertips. No more searching in online servers or lost paperwork.

Cons

It's very robust and takes a bit of time to get to know. It is intuitive but it has so many wonderful features, it does take time to understand and use them all effectively. The support staff is truly amazing and helpful though!

### "Middle of the road software that needs improvement"

We are currently researching other HR software. I'm not sure which is better, software that contains the modules needed with obvious and crippling flaws or software that is easy to use both by admin and employees with limited modules.

Pros

The idea of on-boarding a new employee electronically is a huge plus. It engages employees before they start and makes it so that they come in with paperwork already filled out and spend their first day doing more than just paperwork. Most of the framework is in place, but EACH area needs improvement, both in the functionality for administration and the ease of use for employees. The sections offered are vital, but aren't complete.

Cons

The benefits area is lacking a lot of common sense tools - like the ability to attach plan documents to an insurance plan (only a link can be used), display plan cost information to an employee BEFORE they sign up (the pricing is only available AFTER they sign up and become eligible). Many things like this create double the amount of work for the administrator. The actual on-boarding process was a struggle because even though the forms were done properly by the employees (I sat with a few and watched them), it didn't save all information in completed fields. Employees were frustrated when they had to fill out forms multiple times because you cannot edit once saved. I love that employees can e-sign documents, but preparing the forms is cumbersome and they can't be customized easily. For instance, if you need to update a form because something has changed or didn't save properly, you have to delete the task and resend to any employees who need an updated form. When I discussed a few very basic items with support, they just offered a work around that many clients use. These are obvious flaws in the system that need to be addressed, but aren't necessarily a priority. Bamboo HR seems to focus more on flashy design than actual content. It makes them seem like a leader in the industry, but as soon as you dig in, the flaws are obvious. For the price, there needs to be more development in the software.

Pros

The thing I like most about BambooHR is that it is an easy place to not only store employee documents, reviews and information, but it is easy to access and navigate. We have some employees who are not as proficient in technology and they have picked this right up! You can also create any kind of report you want to for any category, which has been super helpful for us!

Cons

When power editing employees on certain things, it does not edit only the employees who you have changed information for, but creates a new line for everyone.

I started this job with no HRIS at all, not even a single HR spreadsheet, so I needed something that would be quick to deploy, a lot of self-service for employees and easy to understand by all users.I'm really pleased with my experience so far.

Pros

So far, I've enjoyed the procrument process. I saw 10 platform demos' in 1 week, shortlisted 3 and Bamboo was our final choice. Anthony at BambooHR made it easy to understand how to use it as a HR manager and also did a great job of 'selling' it to the organisation.I've also found implementation to be very straight forward to.

Cons

So far, nothing of note.I have feedback that it is far to 'USA centric' and I've given them a website of 'global' holidays so they can include public holidays per country. I've also asked them to include the tax reference numbers of each country, make veteran status a 'toggle' feature.

Reason for choosing BambooHR

For where we are in our HR journey it was the most 'easy to understand' for everyone.

Overall it has been great. It has allowed me to effectively manage all of our staff in multiple countries. Even if the functionality is not currently available, I can often find a workaround and the product development team has a mechanism to provide feedback and are constantly rolling out new features enhancements.

Pros

I am a 1-person HR team. BambooHR allows me to easily manage all staff in multiple countries. It integrates with a number of add-on services. We are a small. virtual company and BambooHR enables us to have a top-rated on-boarding program with minimal work.

Cons

The ability to fully customize and add features that are not available yet.

BambooHR software and management system is not the cheapest option out there but you get what you pay for. Well-organized, visually appealing tools that are simple to set up and run. This solution has an open API that allows the software to be integrated with a company's existing HR tech vendors, and the performance review function fits with the way more companies are working. I would suggest this product to small to medium companies.

Pros

BambooHr has allowed our management team to be on the same page with employee Management. Our managers are able to access our Bamboo account from anywhere, allowing them to keep updated on their team. This product also allows employees to enter & update their own personal information reducing user error. This software reporting has several automated functions for manual reports that my company generates for the corporate office. We continue to automate more processes with the help of the Bamboo development team. The onboarding and offboarding processes are streamlined and offer electronic onboarding, task assignments, and e-signature documents. Bamboo HR is able to support every aspect of employee administration and HR management.

Cons

The biggest complaint I have with BambooHr is their customer service and support team. While the team was really hands-on with us for implementation, the support has since left us to figure out our problems with the software ourselves and basically just sends us links to tutorials. The tutorials are ok but we usually end up having even more specific questions after watching them. It would be nice to see them be more hands-on after implementation.

Outstanding. I've implemented and worked in 4 other systems and Bamboo has been by far my favorite.

Pros

Bamboo is the most intuitive, simple HR software I have ever used or implemented. Super easy to navigate as well as create/generate reports. Upon implementation, our employees started navigating through the system, adding dependents and headshots, inputting their self-reviews and requesting PTO before I ever provided a prompt or instruction. It's been quickly and easily adopted by my team as well as our employees. Customer service is friendly, prompt, attentive, and very knowledgeable. I know when I reach out for tech support that I will receive the answers and guidance I need. The open API makes integrations with other systems easy.

Cons

I did feel the implementation was a bit rushed and too scripted. While I truly enjoyed my project manager, there wasn't much time allowed for questions outside of the scripted implementation nor deeper dives into some functionalities.

Mass change feature cannot be back or forward-dated. The effective date of the change has to be the same as the date of the event.

Our experience has been really good. We have had very few issues and onboarding was handled very efficiently and I felt well trained when we went live. I am glad we chose bamboohr

Pros

Love having one place to store all my employee documents. Also love sending out forms I need signed and completed. It is so easy to see who has completed the forms and who needs reminding. Keeps me from having to keep track and from chasing people down.

Cons

Trax payroll seems a bit clunky. It is completely functional but is not as intuitive as it should be and the interface/look is out dated.

The ability to run reports on information. In comparison to pulling the information from paper files - invaluable.

Cons

The access levels are challenging to navigate, and essentially the premade are built in such a way that effectively entirely replacing them is nearly always a requirement. Adding a new pane to a drop down bow is not always obvious (ie creating a new job role )

Pros

This program has endless functionality 4 call HR aspects of our company. I use it to track my training for each of our locations. I use it for notifications for multiple platforms the main one being a reminder that an evaluation is due for a staff member. Their program also integrates and with great third-party partners such as deputy for scheduling and gifted which I use to automatically send my employees gift cards for special occasions.

Cons

I wish there was a more simplified version of an evaluation section to be more adaptable to the QSR industry.

Wonderful experience. Customer service is always responsive and positive, the system is very intuitive for admins, managers, and users. It ticks off all the major HR needs including reporting, time tracking, performance, payroll, employee access, as well as a fantastic dashboard that portrays employee data like turnover, which executives love. It has great customizable features but keeps things simple when they really should be.

Pros

The time off module is better than any other HRIS time off system I've ever used, or implemented. We love the strategic dashboard and the automatic notifications keep managers and staff on track.

Cons

I wish the calendar showed pay days as well as time off.

Reason for choosing BambooHR

My past experience with Bamboo was very positive, my past experience with the alternatives were not. Knowing that employees would pick it up very quickly and manager's would be provided greater access to useful information without extra work was a huge selling point. Not to mention the BEST time off tracking module I've ever used.

Es un buen software, pero siento que con un poco más de herramientas y aplicaciones que le incluyan sería mucho mejor.

Pros

El interfaz que tiene es bastante bueno, se puede visualizar con facilidad a cada empleado, team, tiempo de trabajo, etc. Las notificaciones son de mucha ayuda para conocer los temas importantes que están próximos a ocurrir.

Cons

Que no existe una fácil integración con otros software de monitoreo por ejemplo el tiempo que nos toma hacer una actividad, quisimos hacer la integración con time doctor y nos resultó mucho trabajo pues no había integración y todo el proceso tuvo que ser manual, y adicional para medir las actividades debía monitorearse manualmente y no existía una opción de como automatizar.

So far, this app has been improving based on the needs of the administrators and it has been super helpful to keep track of every benefit or update that is offered. I have no complaints because they've proved to keep up with the demands of the admin.

Pros

It's a personal file for each member of the company. It gives you most of the information that you'll need. From how long they've been working for the company, their job position, salary, PTOs timeline, goals for the quarter, trainings or lessons that have been taken. There's even an Organigramm for all the individuals that work with the company and the hierarchy within the same. Im currently not an administrator, but from my POV it helps us locate our progress within the company, the benefits, and works as a newsletter for important updates about upcoming events or courses.

Cons

It seems like an old interface, the timeline for the PTOs could be more intuitive (it's from the oldest to the newest request, I think it could be the other way around), and the breakdown of the requests needs to be more clear since the format can be a little bit confusing

Pros

BambooHR has a great user interface, robust integrations, a wonderfully designed time tracking tool, and their payroll is reliable and easy to work with!

Cons

I think BambooHR falls short with some of their HR compliance stuff, which has recently become more complex.

Cons

That you are not able to speak to a human to figure something out. There is a video for everything but sometimes you can't find a video for the exact thing you are looking for. Human is always the best option!

It has been great! Their customer service is quick to respond and the platform is easy for all of our employees to use.

Pros

The fact that each employee can have their own profile that we can use as their employee folder and they have access to update information such as direct deposit which saves time on our end

Cons

The fact we had to change payroll processors when they decided to integrate with a different one than we had began with. We could’ve kept the original table processor but it is much better now having the integration.

Very positive! Their customer support is next level and incredible. HUGE kudos there! Keep making those small improvements.

Pros

It's so easy to use and intuitive, it has a great layout and has a variety of features that are incredibly useful in a variety of HR/Payroll features. Customer Support is unparalleled, excellent job to that team! Always helpful as well and I've never been disappointed by their efforts, even if the answer is a "no" to what I want to do.

Cons

There are still some features that are clunky (new hire packet, performance management, surveying) and don't have the customization I would like. I do see improvements that happen over time since I've used them though.

### "Hiring is easy with BambooHR!"

We didn't have a centralized area to keep our data before BambooHR. This issue has been effectively resolved for us by BambooHR, and senior management can now quickly view every employee. Considering that we are a distant corporation, it has also benefited us in regard to accessibility and awareness.

Pros

Excellent usability. All possibilities have been considered. If not, they will always welcome and put into practice any criticism or recommendations. It is simple to make and use individually tailored reports. Every person I've met or worked with has been really polite and pleasant. The staff at BambooHR treat clients well.

Cons

To make use of this function more frequently, I would want to see more filter options available when sending out announcements. As an illustration, there are instances when a message is best sent to a select set of our managers or attendees of a certain event. Though I had preferred it, we ended up utilizing both email and BambooHR to distribute all HR information. Another excellent improvement would be to make entering holidays simpler.

My experience has been great. We implemented Bamboo few months ago and it has been awesome have all employee's data in one source. In addition, have access to reports and HR analytics with the data.

Pros

This software is very good, intuitive and easy to use. If you have employees in 1 or 2 regions work perfectly. Manage the system is very easy and the support team responds very quickly to the inquiries. Also they have a lot of tutorials. Setting up bamboo was very good and smooth.

Cons

I have experience some issues with bamboo, especially downloading historical data of custom reports. The system allows you to make custom reports but then you can't download them in specific dates. Also if you have employees in different countries that have very strict rules, it's very hard to set that up in the system. This is an HRIS system not payroll, so for countries outside the US is hard to connect to payroll systems.

They hired me. I logged in. That was the start of something great.

Pros

I can simply log in (if I even need to do that much, thanks to robust SSO support) and take care of my personal matters quickly and easily. Everything I need is available with a few clicks, and so is everything I don't think of until it becomes important.

Cons

They only show the next three birthdays or anniversaries on the home page. That's great for smaller companies, but for larger companies, I'd prefer a longer preview.
