I think it has a great potential to become better, but it needs to improve its functionalities a little bit more. Pros As an employee, everything you need can be coursed through here. Need to apply for a leave? Check. Need to go through your Payslip? Check. Need to sign some documents? Check. Need to apply for a job? Check. They offer a service that is automated and organized. Cons The Announcement section needs a better functionality, it's too simple. I don't have admin privileges but I remember when we were helping setting up the platform, the settings were too complex and possibly too confusing for a less techie individual. I think BambooHR lacks a comprehensive FAQ or how-to guide that's accessible to all (I think, if I remember correctly, the how-to guide were only available for those with full admin access). It has many useful features for company growth and flexibility. We enjoy using BambooHR for our Human Resource and Administration needs. Pros BambooHR is very easy to use, offers great courses to learn how to use the program, a helpful support team, and BambooHR is always improving features for ease of use. They also make this program flexible for use with a variety of different companies and roles. Cons A few things could be improved on, such as: being able to save job offers as drafts and sending out timed signature requests. I think these two features being added to the program would significantly improve our experience. It is also important to note that the ability to pull report is user friendly , setting up performance appraisals, and to further communicate announcements group-wide. BambooHR also integrates with a lot of tools making the value skyrocket. It's also visually extremely easy to use and set up, and running reports is simple and fast. Cons We're moving into being a bigger size company which is complicated our workflow and the number of tools/integrations that we have set up with it. We're having to do a lot of different customization which means it's adding a layer of complication to our daily jobs. We now need something a little bit more robust. It has simplified some of our work load, which enables us to stay caught up on other important responsibilities. Pros The software is user-friendly, and it offers many options all together. One of the things that makes Bamboo better the new employee onboarding system. Employees create their own profile, enter in all of their information, and all of the documents are in one place. It is also a lot easier to create payroll journal entries. In addition, employees can request time off, and view time off, who's out each day, birthdays, and anniversaries. Employees are also sent reminders of direct deposit. Cons The time tracking is a little limited. They don't offer a kiosk to clock in and out at the location. Employees can only clock in from their phone, which sometimes is hard if they are having difficulties. Communication with employees has greatly improved over the days when we were still using spreadsheets and internal forms. I love the history of documents, it shows every DocuSigned file since onboarding. Further to this, it is nie to know that those documents are very secure. As a manager, one of my favorite features is performance tracking for staff. Pros It's #1 for a reason. They have designed it really well, it is efficient and fast, it's intuitive and very easy to use. Managers are able to track all kinds of info, from PTO days to salary, salary increases, bonuses, e-signed documents, hierarchy, and much, much more. Cons It's probably a security feature, but it would be nice to have access to external vendors to submit invoices. The mobile app greatly limits features, which is probably another feature of the platform to prevent craziness happening if your phone is stolen or left alone. I would like to see a more fully integrated scheduling system, as well as multi-level approvals for time sheets. Review Source SB Steve B. It is customizable, has a rich reporting capability and sticks to doing HR very well Pros The setup and moving to using the product. We had been told it would take two to three weeks to setup, that was an understatement, it took us about three days to have up and running and all staffing using it. Cons I haven't come across anything g as yet I do not like. We were able to set it up, implement benefit administration and train new HR employees to use the platform with little help needed. They provide excellent customer support if ever needed, they welcome suggestions when a feature is requested. Customizable website design makes it truly feel like a system that’s part of our own company rather than an outside product. Cons Integration was very easy and I can’t think of a feature that we’re missing or a con to share. Pros Bamboo really strives to make their product easy to use. Their help section is filled with many different how to articles with picture and most often a video tutorial. I really like to 30/30 product updates they do, every 30 day they send out a video showing the new updates to the software for the last 30 days and what they are going to be working on for the next 30! This is constantly showing me all the different way to use Bamboo! They also will help create sections and tables so you can customize the program a lot. We also use it for performance management. We have heard that some people don't like that the limit the total number of questions in the review section we LOVE IT! We use the review period to "check in" with our employees and use the few basic questions to start a conversation about how happy they are with work and it has done amazing things for our company! Cons At the beginning it was a little difficult to get all of our custom tables set up and functioning the way we wanted but I think that was just some misunderstanding on my part, just not being a programmer! Bamboo has amazing customer service so they were happy to help make any changes we needed and made sure we were happy with everything at the end! For the software being as amazing as it is and the fact that Bamboo is always improving I don't know if I would even necessarily call it a con but the price is a little high. The implementation specialist at Bamboo have been very nice, knowledgeable and understanding through both the BambooHR implementation as well as the TRAX payroll implementation. Pros BambooHR is very user friendly. I love how hit houses all of our employees including employees outside the US. Everything is easy to find. Pros We use this service everyday for timekeeping and accurate payments. It works well, the interface is clean and clear and it does everything we need it to. From the admin and user perspectives. I have an older workforce that does not usually embrace new tech but they are utilizing BambooHR with no issues. Cons Would love to be able to turn off the mobile app for certain employees (who abuse it) and/or add geofencing to only allow clocking on/out within a location. I would like a page selection at the top of the employee list page. Currently, need to scroll to the bottom to change pages when I the employee i want to access is on the second page. They don't let you over-configure the software so you end up torturing your employees; they simply won't let you. Example: They designed the Performance Review module very thoughtfully, posing the minimum number of thoroughly-researched and carefully worded prompts to drive a strong review for both Manager and Employee. They won't let you turn the Performance Review into a 5-page write-up like some circa 1980's multi-national. Good UI design, and requires minimal configuration out of the box. BambooHR integrates with many other vendors up and downstream in the business: candidate tracking, payroll, time logging, etc... Cons The Training functionality is designed to allow documentation of employee education, and requires an instructor to mark the education as complete. Sometimes, education is self-service/eLearning...there's no way for an employee to mark certain themselves "complete" for certain training modules. It's rather unfortunate hole, which caused us to look at an LMS. It is also great to see who from the company is OOO on that day. Overall, it is great for smaller companies (less than 100 people). Pros BambooHR is great to track employees vacation days, sick days and basic information. The platform is also great for employee reviews and tracking performance. There are many benefits to using BambooHR and ultimately it should be used by smaller companies who want all of their employee information in one place. Cons Nothing to dislike about BambooHR- it is simple to use and people can learn it on their own. It is great since it has all your employee info in one place and prevents you from losing out on your vacation days! It works well but isn't the greatest for measuring core HR activities. Pros I liked that it was easy to use and it didn't have too many bells and whistles that you often find with other larger HRIS. Pros UI is super easy to use, same for setting Cons peformance management and goals - not flexible enough, no way to capture the full employee pool without having to type each name to share. For peformance specifically Full admins should have control on how to distribute the performance review, we should not be held to Bamboohr and what they think an "objective" review is.
