I ignore every email from another vendor and thank BambooHR for giving me the ability to not even consider opening more emails than needed. ;) Pros Everything I need for a team of just over 50 people without the bells and whistles that I do not. Cons Occasionally there are glitches in email addresses 'already in use' when the system simply timed out or the user hit a wrong button, that cannot be fixed by deleting or reusing the address, which requires a discussion with Customer Service. While it is highly annoying, I will also say that the Customer Service it absolutely Top Notch; not only have I never had a problem with them, their service has always been amazing, which is something we are not accustomed to. Incredibly user friendly and adaptable, and the customer service has been fantastic - although I have not had to use it much (a definite testimony to the product)! Pros BambooHR offers an opportunity for real-time time tracking. It has made it easier for me to track time spent working on specific projects and provides an easy-to-understand breakdown of time spent on various organizational projects. Cons I would have loved to have the option of receiving notifications a day before my timesheet is shared with my supervisor for approval. After a very thorough review and subsequent implementation, we have used BambooHR to assist us in our hiring efforts and onboarding. In the past 7 months alone we have added 77 new associates. The customer service and support is the finest I have ever come across on my 25 years of experience. The portal is easy to customize and report creation couldnt be any easier. Hands down BambooHR will not disappoint! Cons I'd like the abliity to set up secondary approvers and notifcations when I go on vacation and I would like the ablility to segregate users for the Employee Satisfaction Survey. For example we house alot of Corp to Corp associate data in BambooHR however, as these associates are not our direct employees, I don't want to send them a Employee Satisfaction Survey. Pros With BHR we have one point of truth for our staff and our comms on HR, all documentation is stored centrally which solves a lot of issues and the reviews forms the catalyst for conversation between manager and staff. Ability to support multiple countries and their time off calendars. A simple ATS system was a part of the application, which makes it great for small organizations that do not have to purchase an ATS. Cons I have no complaints; it's a great tool. The performance management module had a restriction of a maximum number of questions, and they were not editable. That was a shortcoming. From top to bottom, our employees have nothing but great things to say about this software. Several cumbersome processes have been streamlined. For example, Bamboohr's applicant tracking system has given us the platform to compete for candidates who are not only more qualified but who also fit our company culture. Finding the right folks has decreased turnover and saved on training costs. The APS has streamlined our applicant workflow process. For instance, HR and managers now have the ability to work together in reviewing and scheduling applicants. This alone has yielded more qualified candidates in half the time. The PTO tracker is another Bamboohr feature our company absolutely loves. Prior to Bamboohr we used email and paper to track PTO. The double, sometimes triple, handling of requests was beyond frustrating. Employees now request off and receive their managers approval (or denial) within minutes. Employee records throughout the system are updated the moment their supervisor accepts his/her PTO request. Everyone enjoys managing their own PTO. Employee on-boarding is another process streamlined through Bamboohr. Candidate information is transferred from the APS to their employee record the moment he/she is hired. We customized bamboohr's on-boarding checklist to fit our company's needs. Any person, whether HR, manager or new hire, can be assigned items within a template checklist. Once a person is hired, the assigned items will automatically generate notifications to the appropriate person. Check-list notifications may serve as simple reminders to more complex messages requiring electronic signatures. Bamboohr's electronic signature feature recently has allowed us to enjoy our first "paperless" on-boarding experience!! BambooHR is without question a game changer. Pros APS is extremely effective. September 1, 2022 5.0 Pros I love how convenient and easy BambooHR is to use. It allows for the appropriate level of access and information to individuals by title and reporting structure but is accessible to all employees for ease of understanding the organization. Employee profiles are exceptionally helpful in a remote environment where you may not have the opportunity to put names to faces and allows you to easily understand who you need to reach out to across the organization. As a director, I find this tool very helpful for managing my team, including their general information, requests for time off, birthdays, etc. to ensure an effective and strong culture across the team. We are really glad to have implemented the platform and are excited to continue rolling out the features it has. Pros What I liked the most was the ease of implementation and use of the platform. It has been great moving away from paper and having employees see and update their information so easily. Cons There are no real cons that we have come across yet. We have managed to find a workaround if we did not have a field for information we needed for employees. Reason for choosing BambooHR We chose BambooHR due to the overall integration possibilities. We were looking for a long-term solution and really liked that we can add on other services or integrate it with solutions we have and automate tasks. Customer service was also a big component. Without the software, we likely would've had to hire at least 1 person to coordinate everything. It saved us some costs there but it also helps us improve our employee experience through onboarding and performance management. Pros We hadn't used an HRIS before BambooHR so we didn't really know what to expect. We started using BambooHR when we were around 20 employees or so. In the last year or we, we've grown to 50 employees so their various features from ATS to onboarding to esignatures have really helped us grow quickly while providing a good employee experience. Cons It took me awhile to get comfortable with the permissions but I was very cautious since HR data is very private. Once I got the hang of it, I found it very customizable. Pros Self-service personnel data management and reporting is made possible by BambooHR. Custom data and tables, automatic notifications, onboarding/offboarding task lists, time off monitoring, org charts, and comprehensive reporting capabilities are just a few of the features that stand out. Custom access control (at the data field level) is another. For both system administrators and end users, the entire package is wrapped in a very user-friendly UI. Cons There are certain common reports and notification triggers that lack filter options that might improve their use or relevance. Notification emails don't allow embedded data fields and don't have many formatting possibilities. There are several point-in-time reports, but there is no point-in-time organizational structure. Additionally, although there is a "power edit" mode that enables editing a field on many employee records, there isn't a way to make mass changes to other settings, such giving numerous users a new access role or turning off the birthday display for all users. It's hard to put a price on that. Overall, my experience with BambooHR has been excellent. Pros The employee pages for each employee are simply amazing. You can store a ton of information about each employee. This information rages from birthdays, hire dates to time off requests and performance reviews. The system does a great job of organizing documents for each individual. You can store employee reviews, I-4 paperwork and payroll documents. Anything you wish to save is available to store in this system. Cons The only complaint I have with this software is its inability to integrate well with 3rd party software. I am specifically referring to time clock and payroll software such as Deputy. BambooHR struggles at time to provide basic functions with this software. Review Source JS Juliet S. I love the quirky emails and the way they are written to the team and individuals. Pros I love that there is an app and employees have access to their data at their fingertips right from their mobile device. It is also very user friendly. Cons i would love to use their time tracking but have found that we can't limit it to people onsite at our facilities. by having it wide open, my employees could clock in from their phone when they are down the street to avoid being 'late'. this is an issue and the only reason why we haven't moved to their time tracking piece. November 9, 2017 4.0 Pros BambooHR has done their research on what makes a good HRIS system. They have made it really simple for HR reps to organize employee information and keep everyone in constant communication. If you buy this program you have to get the ATS function. It keeps all your applicants organized with a rating system and a quick email function. It now has a offer letter function to quickly send your new hires their OL and can keep track of when they view it and sign it. When their hired they're OL and application automatically go into their electronic file. Send them the new hire packet and they'll love the simple and fun communication. When I review the hiring process with my new hires, they always talk about how easy everything was and how communicative the process is. Cons It's a growing platform and a reasonable price. You can't edit every area of BambooHR so sometimes that is a restriction on what you can and can't do. However if you email their support team they'll help find a solution. Review Source SH Suzy H. Cons The software offers quite a lot of features but if you don't use them, you don't get to pick and choose what you want and get a discounted rate. For a non-profit, the cost is a bit high considering we don't use everything it offers. We don't use it because we are not in need of it.
