It is much easier to use than any intranet or HR management software I've had to use in the past. Pros I love being able to have a single "go-to" spot for all my HR needs. In past companies I've worked for they had their own system or intranets, but Bamboo puts everything I need in one spot. Need to check my leave balance? Bamboo. Need to double check my IRS documents? Bamboo. Need a copy of my paystub? Bamboo. No more calling HR or visiting multiple sites...super simple Cons I cannot think of a major drawback to this software. So far, one year into use, Bamboo has quickly become a staple, I enjoy how user friendly it is as an employee to do things like updating my contact information, request sick/vacation time, and access important company documents. Bamboo is well worth signing up for. Pros Overall design, ease of use, organization of inforamtion, cost-effective Cons There is nothing about Bamboo that I don't like, any time I have had an issue with something with the site in the past it has quickly been updated by their team and is well optimized. It also allows me to track my reviews and where I stand with completing my yearly goals. Pros It helps you track your time off. Allows you to see your reviews. Also let's you see who is in or out of the office. Cons In Bamboo, you can see who is in or out but it doesn't allow you to see if they are off, at a customer site or working remotely. April 13, 2018 5.0 Pros I like how you can see the tree chart of your company and all of the people under their direct boss, as well as the searching capability, and ease of use when requesting time off, AND linking to our HR resources Cons For an HR tool there isn't really much that I dislike. It's very helpful for non-HR employees, and undoubtably saves them a lot of time. Pros \- Very easy to use with a great UI - All information is organized in an intuitive way - When on-boarding as a new employee, BambooHR will steer a user through all the necessary steps without leaving the user "guessing" if all paperwork is filled out - All documentation is stored in a secure place - Integrated well with email to keep users up to date on all relevant company news. - Employee "tree" enables users to understand company structure quickly and independently Cons \- Bamboo HR does not currently integrate with out benefit providers (like healthcare, payroll etc). Pros I love that I can see pictures and names of all staff members so that I can learn names and faces quickly when starting a new job. I also love to see my balances for vacation and personal time and can make requests online or on the app. I love being able to put personal information in my profile in case I'm traveling and cannot access it another way. The app is also good for finding HR documents about holidays, work policies and the like. I love it! Cons It would be nice if there was better spacing for the profiles of each staff member. And I want to see the all-time historical changes for vacation and personal time, not just the current year. Review Source MN Matthew N. I only needed to use it fairly infrequently so it never bothered me too much but I do not like the time off functionality. Pros Performance reviews were fairly straight forward. Has a lot of features in one app. Cons I did not like the UI for this software, I found it hard to find what I was looking for. This software does a lot of things but it makes it hard to find what you need. The time off tracker was not intuitive and was harder than it should be to find remaining vacation days. I also like the features that can be used in the "hiring" section, including ratings, comments, stages of hire, etc. Cons It seems like this software is somewhat restricted to some users and not others. I'm not sure if this is a change in the software that happened recently, but sometimes I can see who's birthdays are coming up, who will be taking time off, etc., and sometimes my screen is completely blank. For a while, I also couldn't see my vacation days available or request time off, that was a feature that only appeared later in my employment. I worked for a startup and was sorry hadn't started using Bamboo HR sooner, because as our company grew and we had more employees, I think I would have had an easier time getting each employee set up if I had started when we were smaller. Word to the wise...get your HR organized early, so it's easier. Pros I really like how everything is personalized per employee so they can see where they are in terms of PTO and benefits, what forms they have on file and that management can change permissions for visibility and access. Cons I thought it was a little tricky to set up. Fortunately, the customer support is excellent and friendly. I chatted and called several times and was walked through to a solution every time. Cons As my company has over 2,000 employees, it's not as sophisticated enough to run some complex reports that Workday can. This software is definitely a budget option geared toward smaller companies.
