I am using Network for Good to give us a more polished look and to keep potential and other donors educated about nonprofit activities.

Pros

I really liked being able to set up the donor page and have payments submitted through the software. It was amazing the night if our function to have the text to donate feature.

Cons

I cannot think if anything I dislike about it. The videos and access to technicians minimizes and problems.

Pros

Network for Good is convenient for both users and donors. It tracks all transactions in details that are needed for my bookkeeping and correspondence. It is reliable and certainly value for money.

Cons

I know I do not use all the features offered. I cannot really say there is something I dislike about it.

Our overall experience could not be better. It is great to have several options managed by one platform, such as donation, events, membership. Having the success team working with us to set up our pages and guide our initial steps has been amazing. I am sure that this platform will make a huge difference in our organizational capacity in the future.

Pros

easy to navigate, visual, customizable, great tech support (you actually talk with someone), success team availability, and ability to manage different options with the same platform, such as donations, events, memberships. Very effective.

Cons

The cost of the coaching hours was too high for a very small organization like ours. And I only found out about the software by chance during a webinar. (I wish I had known it earlier)

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

I was already using NFG light (free) platform since 2009 and didn't find out about the NFG software until very recent. This new version is much more robust and will be more helpful to increase our organizational capacity. Therefore, our small organization and board decided to make this investment in the platform and we are very pleased with the decision.

### "Some pro's but very difficult & terrible at Events"

There are some great features about this product, but it is a very difficult system learn and manage and the Event platform isn't fully integrated between DonorPro and Salsa (these 2 companies merged), making it VERY difficult.

Pros

Customer Service is great. Being able to call in and get a live person when I have a question is awesome. I also like the Salsa Engage platform for email blasts, posting on social media, and creating fundraising campaigns.

Cons

Difficult CRM to use and learn, and not that great once it's up and running. Also, Event Platform is not fully integrated between the DonorPro side and the Salsa Engage side. It is easy to set up the fundraising landing page and registration in Salsa Engage, but after that you are left to figure out how to bring those registrations back over to the CRM side, where you supposedly would assign them seats, bidder number and check them in. It was so difficult trying to find a person that could answer my questions, (they admitted that it didn't work properly), that I finally downloaded the info to an Excel Spreadsheet and highlighted 400+ people with a yellow highlighter! Also at check-in, we pre-authorized credit cards in the CRM, and used the recommended cc sliders, but it took forever as they wouldn't pre-authorize unless the address was exactly perfect. (Our old Event Platform would gather that CC info at check-in and pre-authorize with out having to type in an address, or much of anything.) This made registration so slow that we received numerous complaints and it was very stressful.

We have been very fortunate with our NFG experience. We had a great coach and awesome customer support. They send out ideas and newsletters which is very helpful. They are continually trying to improve the product which is a win for the end user!

Pros

It is pretty easy to use and it does a lot of different things for you, recording, tracking, setting tasks, doing email blasts, video sends, text messages, etc.

Cons

The reporting could be enhanced and made easier but for the price it is a great product.

Overall, I'm beyond satisfied with this product and I feel that the value of the product I receive is well worth the cost. I would recommend this product to others, especially individuals who are responsible for fundraising or donor tracking. This product is comparable to other software products and better than most.

Pros

This company offers personal coaching for non-profit users to best utilize the software to get the most benefit for your dollar. No matter what size company, this software can be personalized to fit your needs. The value of the software is determined by how the software is used. I prefer to implement just this software for all my needs and I eliminated spreadsheets, paper files, and all other reporting systems.

Cons

There were a few times that I needed to contact customer support and the hold time is sometimes a bit long. I wish there were more training resources for users to troubleshoot on their own.

### "NFG has changed our org for the better!"

You need to know this - the customer service we've received from Network For Good is AMAZING. I am serious! We had Neon before, and it was like pulling teeth to get ANY help. I am a customer service maven and I hated dealing with neon but I LOVE dealing with Network For Good because they help us to feel as if they value our business. The chat function works almost immediately and every query has resulted in a viable solution. What's not to love?

Pros

The reporting feature in Network For Good is intuitive and easy to use and integration with Neon was nearly seamless. We were able to cancel our email service with another company since Network For Good enables sending eblasts from the CRM - literally at the click of a mouse! And this system adjusts the profile should a donor unsubscribe. We are saving money and enjoying using this CRM - and I cannot say enough about their attentive customer service!

Cons

I'll let you know once I figure this out because I haven't encountered a problem yet!

### "Our Journey to Success!!"

I call our small Senior Center, The Little Senior Center That Could. We operate our very busy center with a minimal staff and the benefits that we offer our senior population is amazing. There are two of us that are learning this system and creating the donor and fundraising opportunities along with a long list of other responsibilities. We hope to start seeing the benefits in November when we launch a month of fundraising. Our coach, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\], has played a big part in our November plans!!

Pros

We are a struggling senior center with the need to establish a donor system along with ways to create a fundraising system. We were gifted with the opportunity to use the software for a year at no cost. Several months in and its been an amazing journey for us. We plan to start with our first big month of fundraising in November. The support system we received with this gift has been amazing. The software is very user friendly. Of course, like with anything else, the more you use it the easier it gets. I can't comment on the price since we won't experience that for a bit.

Cons

I haven't found anything, as of yet, that I really don't like about the software.

### "Bookkeeper's Perspective"

The Support representative I worked with to understand the Settings for syncing QuickBooks was very helpful and gave me time to absorb the administrative and accounting process details. Five Stars!

Pros

I stepped in as the new bookkeeper for the organization and was introduced to Network For Good. I found it simple to find Donors and donations, and identify donations critical to the accounting and tax preparation processes. I will implement protocols for the most efficient records and syncing with QuickBooks Online to eliminate miscoding. The features of NFG are robust, and once we simplify and properly utilize Campaigns in the Settings and donation link options, we won't need to maintain donor details within QBO, only what relates to Banking transactions.

Cons

When searching for transactions or donors, once I open a specific record, I often lose the search parameters and have to start it over again. Being able to save the searches is a good feature, but that list can become cluttered and needs to be cleaned up on occasion.

Overall, the Team at Network for Good is very helpful and available. The resources are helpful for small/growing nonprofits as well as larger ones. I have used the resources for a few years prior to using the software. Its has been a gamechanger for the work I do full-time as well as my time serving as a Board Member.

Pros

I love how easy it is to set up campaigns and donation pages! I also REALLY appreciate all t he training and resources that are available for free!

Cons

I did not like that I wasn't using it sooner. I've only used it for a few months and I have enjoyed the little that I have used.

Working with Network For Good has been wonderful. Every phone call, email, and zoom meeting has been helpful and efficient. The team at Network For Good are professional, and thoughtful of your organizations needs, and take the time to ensure that you are on track with your new software.

Pros

For our organization, the donor management feature was what really marketed us. Before, we were using excel sheets and having to manually enter every new donation, donor, donation information, etc... The Network For Good software took a HUGE part of our work out of the way for us and now adding and tracking donors and donations is easier than ever.

Cons

We are happy with the software. The data integration process was simple and made it easier for us to get started.

I love being able to manage all donor issues in one application. Previously, we had a cumbersome system of several different systems.

Pros

An all-in-one package, it's easy and intuitive to learn and use, strong instructional and support, always asking for suggestions and looking for ways to improve service.

Cons

I'd love for there to be a way to link our website sign-up to populate an NFG profile page. (Squarespace website). Perhaps one that would require review before activating, something like that. Can't think of anything else right now.

### "Hard to get your money"

We used them to raise money for an event. They only pay monthly, which stinks. A check got lost in the mail. A check was lost in the mail. We asked for a replacement and they said it would be NINETY DAYS before we could get another check. This means, we would get our money AFTER our event, making it impossible to operate the event without the MONEY WE RAISED. We had a terrible time trying to get our OWN MONEY. It took hours of jumping through hoops to get OUR MONEY, 90 days from when it was supposed to arrive. Then, they delayed the next check. Their payment policies can be devastating to a non-profit.

Pros

I liked the donor management. It flagged them.

Cons

They only pay monthly, which stink, by check. Most pay daily with direct deposit.

### "Everything you need in one"

Pros

It is easy to use and integrates everything we needed into one system. Communication, donor/donation tracking, event management.

Cons

Not the best for managing events that are not geared towards raising money. It's possible to collect a ticket fee, but it's not exactly set up to collect $$$ that isn't a donation.

We are really happy with our switch over. Great customer service. Great onboarding customer service. Responsive teams and user friendly platform.

Pros

This software is really user friendly. Easy to train new staff on. Easy to learn all functionalities. The Dashboard is great, providing a quick overview of a single campaign or recent transactions. Overall, the functions offered have allowed us to improve our donor outreach, improve donor retention and better engage donors. As for the database, that is pretty straightforward and also really user-friendly.

Cons

Overall this software is good, but as with most similar platforms, the e-blasts formatting have some limitations in design.

Pros

Initially our utility benefited by coaching sessions, After the first year we dropped that feature. Being able to send email blasts to selected donors was utilized frequently.

Cons

Learning a new system is always a challenge. Sometimes accessing staff for assistance caused delays.

It was as smooth as we expected taking almost 10 years worth of donor information and bringing it into a new system. The sales and data representatives were very helpful and we had many opportunities to chat with them as part of the onboarding process.

Pros

It's much more user friendly than E-Tapestry, which is what we were using before. It might not have the depth needed for much larger organizations, but so far it's been much more user friendly and straightforward for our needs as a smaller nonprofit organization.

Cons

We're still in the transition phase and learning how to best use the available features. So far there haven't been any glaring issues, but we haven't been using the system for that long.

We just renewed our contract with Network For Good for the second year in a row. We had a great first-year experience with them. We were so happy that we are looking to upgrade to their new event software to help us with in-person/virtual events, raffles & action items.

Pros

We found the product easy to use, and when we ran into a problem calling, customer service was quick and helpful. We love the donor management section - we can look up a donor and have all the information at our fingertips in one spot, such as their donations to us and where they requested their money to go, our communications to them, their contact information.

Cons

When setting up an event I would like to see more flexibility when setting up the home page - we would like to be more creative.

As an organization that went from paper to pencil and very archaic donor management and fundraising system, Network for Good was there when we needed them the most. As a small organization, they were able to meet us where we were and help us increase our fundraising by over 200%.

Pros

Network for Good provides easy-to-use customer management, fundraising, and event-based platform all in one. Already designed templates the constant customer support makes it a no-brainer for organizations to use.

Cons

From my limited use with it, the peer-to-peer fundraising aspect of the program does not currently meet our needs.

### "Take off is rough"

I have only been a Salsa customer for just less than six weeks. The salsa representatives I have talked with during the transition have been nice. I'm sure Salsa will end up being a great move, I just wish they were a faster and more empathetic toward our timelines and internal pressures.

Pros

The sales pitch we got was exciting. Salsa has it all. I believe it will be the software that will help our little nonprofit get to the next level. I specifically liked the donor organization, peer-to-peer fundraising and their sophisticated automatic email options.

Cons

Such a slow start. I was pretty quick and aggressive about getting Salsa all the info they needed but it took them longer then a month until we could even use the software (some of this was due to the holiday season I'm sure). Salsa touted about offering the first month for free, but I couldn't even use it that month. When I asked if we could get another month for free since I couldn't even use the software for the first five weeks (sometimes those little victories make all the difference when you are convincing the board to switch software) the declined. The transition process is unnerving, like maybe I'm taking a step backward.

The ease of transferring 10,000 previous records. Team was very helpful exporting from Donor Perfect and importing into Network for Good either using the NFG team or the self-import tool.

Pros

All the up to date features (text to give, video thank you, donor thank you letters) so easy to use and the process to import our previous 10,000 records was a breeze with the NFG team importing the majority and the rest of the records done by our team using the self-import tool.

Cons

Only been using the services for less than 6 months, so far we could not be happier.
