Tracking donors easily, easily sending out communication.

Pros

What I like most about Salsa Labs is the ease of use. Although as the administrator I am in the database daily, everyone on my team can easily find what they need and update donor profiles, and find out information about donors. The robust queries is also huge for me. The fact that I can easily segment out multiple layers of donors makes my job much easier. So far there has not been an output that I am looking for that I can not get through Salsa queries. The integrated emails and unlimited donation pages are also wonderful and have reduced the number of platforms we have to use.

Cons

I do wish there was a little bit more integration between the CRM and the Engage side of the systems. Currently if I send out an email blast it does not add a note or activity to the donor's profile on the CRM side saying this was sent. Currently I have to add them to a group and then add a note to their profile. There are a couple of other little items that are more wish list items rather than items I have to have in a CRM. Also, the customer support, although they are always helpful, it is sometimes hard to get ahold of them. Emails usually take a good 3-7 days to answer (sometimes mores) and if I call I am on hold for a good 15-30 min sometimes. It is nice that I can call anytime, but frustrating that it can take awhile to get ahold of anyone.

It's been great. I've had coaching and now we're implementing the steps. It's easy to learn! That's probably the best part of it.

Pros

We love the gift tracking and reporting. Email blasts are so easy, and our donor communication has improved dramatically. Our donors seem to like the video messaging.

Cons

Nothing much. There's nothing to complain about. It just works like it should.

I like being able to create my own filters when querying the database. It is very efficient in generating mailing labels for my print donor newsletter.

Cons

We use QuickBooks for accounting purposes, so I have to manually add all donations into the NFG database. It is a quick process though.

Pros

We are very pleased with the ease of use of this software. We were very happy with the continued support we received from our coach. She was very happy to help guide us with any questions we had. We had a mentor that helped us with any technical questions we had, and she made the whole experience a very delightful one. We were able to raise what we needed to purchase a new security system for our childcare center. I would highly recommend Network for Good to anyone looking for a great experience starting fundraising.

Cons

There was nothing we didn't like. It was a scholarship so there was no cost. The help we received from our mentor was very helpful and continues to be helpful.

We were introduced to Network for Good by a Community Foundation. As a small non-profit it is difficult to raise enough funds to purchase a security system. This was the only one we had heard of.

So far, it's been wonderful! The only recommendation we have is to try to make it competitive to PayPal's arrangement for non-profits in terms of processing fees. NFG allows the donor to cover the credit processing fees, which most do. However, our PayPal waives processing fees for non-profits completely. Having the same arrangement as PayPal would make it easy for non-profits to make the decision to transfer immediately to the use of NFG.

Pros

This software is easy to use! It's especially helpful for us to track donations. We are just beginning to explore the other uses such as on-line fundraising, but are excited to try out all of the features!

Cons

The only con is really not software related, but more time related. As with many smaller non-profit groups, our administration is all volunteer with all of us working full-time outside of the non-profit. This limits our ability to dig in and use all the features. However, when we do have time, we find that the features are pretty user-friendly. Plus, the support is great!

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive service. You feel like you not only have support but are PART of something. And the product itself is excellent.

Pros

We're still new but I find it powerful and sophisticated and easy to use. We've never had such a good platform to do so much and will be "growing into it" for awhile. But that's more exciting than intimidating. It's integration of communication, fundraising and donor management are great.

Cons

No obvious weaknesses. Our old set-up was so bad (and had so many unrelated parts) that transferring data is hard, but that's more a function of where we were than of NFG software. And our support team is there for us.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

The approach to introduce us to the software was low-pressure and supportive, never high-pressure (or even "scolding" as some others were). They met us where we were, respected how busy we were (especially, hello - remember the pandemic) and waited for our timing to be right. Once it was, we were able to look at the presentation of the software in an engaged way and were truly impressed. Frankly, we also found the pricing good.

All in one donor management. Was using different platform for email blast and text to phone before. Had to go through third party to collect online donations. Also, have to manual track donations that go to different campaigns before. NFG does this for now.

Pros

Easy to use. All in on platform is great. Can track donations on different campaigns. Great customer support.

Cons

Report function is a little bit complicated. Just take a little time to learn how to generate good report.

We're just getting started, but I am delighted with the product and the support. I expect this to be a very active tool in our arsenal as we get better and better at using its capabilities.

Pros

We were looking for an obvious format that could be learned quickly and easily shared among data input staff. Just as important, we wanted the capability to track donations and use the data to build our donor base, without so much detail and structure that we never used the reports. NFG is giving us our wish. We were also very much sold on the additional capabilities of email blasts and texting service. But the clincher has been the start up service and follow up we received. When I was too busy to focus on a new software, your customer service staff poked me and kept me going. When I got mixed up in data import, your customer staff sorted it out. And when I needed a little hand holding on a problem, your customer service staff came to my rescue and followed up and followed up. I am comfortable that we did not just purchase a subscription, we joined a team.

Cons

We have a lot of uses for email blasts, and the functionality is a little clunky. I can get it done, but the design function needs more refining.

The pricing was consistent with what I needed, and the capabilities went beyond what I had planned.

My biggest complaint is the reporting. Aside from that it is a fairly straigthforward platform that allows for coordination between your email marketing, fundraising, and advocacy.

Pros

Can create custom roles and permissions, organize constituents and users by chapters. Create and save multiple email and form templates.

Cons

Reporting is not the easiest and a lot of the report display in the browser and are not immediately exportable. The aggregate reporting is powerful but finicky - if any column is out of order the whole report is broken.

Network for Good is a great way for us as a non profit to track our incoming donations. We are sent email notifications when a new donation is added directly other then our staff manually entering it, to ensure we can send out an acknowledgement letter or email. There are several tutorial opportunities to learn how to navigate the site and get the most out of it.

Pros

It's handy to be able to store all our contacts to send email blasts and to have their information all in one place. All donations done via Facebook and our organization donation web page, are automatically added into Network for Good. The software is very user friendly to enter donations. I like how acknowledgement letters are integrated into the program to ensure we thank our donors in a timely fashion. Any time I have a problem I know I can send a message via live chat and get the answer I am looking for.

Cons

I cannot point out any cons at this point for I am still learning all the different features Network for Good has to offer. Any questions I do have, someone from live chat helps me out and their quick response is pretty amazing!

We love NFG and have been using their CRM since it launched. We actually switched to something else that had more tracking features but came back because the simplicity and integration of NFG was more valuable to us.

Pros

We love NFG because it is easy to use, has a beautiful interface, and has most of the features we need integrated in one place. It includes the CRM, email platform, and payment processing all in one which is great for our small organization. The customer service is very responsive, and they are adding new and improved features all the time.

Cons

There are a few things that we wish could be better customized, like the list of relationships between donors, but that's probably the tradeoff for having an easy and robust platform out of the box. We are also hoping for better analytics and segmenting for the texting feature, improved household tracking for couples, etc.

We had a need to have a nonprofit. The issues that go with this type of setup are huge in what you can do, and what you can not do. So I surfed the web and read a few articles two named this product. The learning of the product just takes a little time but that time will keep you legal in audits and Thank you's from your donors. We happy with this product. Our experience is if you used salesforce, excel or word you jump right in that the tools are in this package.

Pros

It is a software geared towards charitiesand nonprofits and money or Fund Raising! As we have a need for 501(c)3type of operation this procut gives you control of the process and keeps a papertrail and aids you to be legal as a non profiT.

Cons

None this product if you have not used any others is not lacking in features. You need to spend sometime learning the product then you see that it will provide you the audit trial, marketing, accounting and more in one package.

Network for Good has helped us to combine and streamline all of our development functions and information, and eased our accounting procedures through the online Quickbooks option. I love the excellent coaching sessions and the professional customer service that Network for Good provides.

Pros

Network for Good organizes all of nonprofit development and fundraising functions and data into one software which is essential for running a state of the art development operation. In addition, the software is connected with with Quickbooks, which is an excellent way to streamlime accounting functions. The coaching and customer support is both professional and educational.

Cons

There are several multi-step processes that are unique to Network for Good that a new user must learn. However, once the new user becomes familiar with the software, these processes are easily learned.

### "Has sustained and helped our small nonprofit grow"

Great! We were lucky to have Network4Good offered to us as a grant from a funder; otherwise we might not have sprung for it given the cost. But I'm so glad we did, and now we have such a sophisticated system for a very small nonprofit.

Pros

We like how easy it is to display progress toward goals, how robust the filters and groups are, how robust the e-blasts platform is, and how professional it feels on the user side. The coaching is awesome!

Cons

There is not an option for Spanish translation. Sometimes the help articles explaining filters still leave me with questions. It is too bad we have to pay so much for the service and yet our donors still have to pay the processing fee. I wish there was an easier way to use the event/ticket purchase option for a training type registration (as we offer trainings).

Experience has been very good except for the tech support. The people that answer the phone are not users of the system and don't know the shortcuts. It seems they just read their manual and tell you what to do even though it's not the best way.

Pros

Having all information in one data base makes life easier, saves time and I can run reports easier than before to record donations into my quickbooks. Has many features that are much better than the way I was doing it.

Cons

Certain things take more time than I hoped they would. When you make a form for your email contacts to update their info, it doesn't integrate and has to be done manually. Can't easily find answer to the questions asked on donation page.

The customer support is excellent. It is fairly easy to learn and use.

Cons

Engage There are some inconsistencies with email set up. I HATE the way the email series set ups are, the scheduling is horrible, it should just use a calendar like a regular blast. When exporting any report from engage id like some options for what I info is included in report.
