Pros I love the ease of personalizing thank you's to our donors. The software makes it easy to be intentional and thoughtful in a timely fashion. I particularly enjoy how easy it is to craft email blasts about events or updates to our organization. The templates provided make it so simple and aesthetically pleasing. August 19, 2021 5.0 I have found NFG to be a very intuitive tool that we were able to implement without a great deal of difficulty. It provides pleasant environment in which we are able to maintain effective communication with our existing donors and pursue new relationships with prospective donors. It has been a giant step forward for our nonprofit. Pros I like the filters available to aid in targeted searches. I like the integration of communication tools including video, newsletters, automated thank yous. Cons I wish there was an option for collecting/charging for transactions that do not qualify as "donations". Payment for resources with a cash value. It is easy to add names to the database, then use the database to accomplish a wide range of tasks, particularly communicating with various constituents. Pros I have found Network for Good easy to use. It has definitely helped us communicate with our donors, friends, and members. The ease of setting up email blasts, thank-you videos, and text messages to various groups makes communicating so much easier and consistent. We were able to set up a monthly newsletter template that has helped us share a wide range of stories and information in an easily recognizable format. Cons There are a few features we have been missing, mostly related to how and where we can place pictures inside the system. As a member who did our first round of peer-to-peer fundraising, I encountered some set-up issues, especially when trying to share through Facebook, so better/easier directions in this process would be helpful. It is always cumbersome when starting a new CRM solution, but between them and Joe, our onboarding specialist, the people at Salsa were great. We're still getting use to all the available tools, but have found great benefit in everything so far! Pros Lots of tools (Email, Events, P2P, Social Media, etc.) Great options for communicating to donors and receiving donations. A lot of customization for marketing and accounting. Cons Merging the two solutions (Engage and the CRM) has proven clunky, but the team is committed to fixing any issues. Also, be sure to check out Salsa Scholars, the interactive eLearning platform that contains instructor led training courses that will help you learn all the ins and outs and maximize the software. We can now do event management, donation tracking, donor communications and so much more with this one solution. Since it is a new merger, it is extremely affordable for all of the functionality. This system has good training and is generally easy to use. It is wonderful to go to one place and get so much information about donors, communications and results. We also appreciate that multiple users can access the system at the same time. Pros The integration of donor management and communication has been a game changer for us. We love the various styles of communication, email, text, group video and individual video and use them all. Next step for us is to use the event function, and then create a hybrid event. These last features so important in today's environment and will be in the future. Pros Creating campaigns and events is very straight-forward and easy to do, and customer service and tech support is readily available when needed. And it's very easy to navigate between pages. Cons Creating emails and letters has taken a little more time to learn. Formatting letters and creating mailing lists takes a little more effort. All of the templates/suggestions and the video/texting/e-news options are so helpful in creating sophisticated, entertaining and meaningful messages to our donors/community members. Pros I like all of the templates, the guided/suggested information about fundraising. The amount of information included in the platform is incredible. Cons There is not a good way to track grants - these are donors. There should be a way to track submitted/pending/awarded/declined grants. Currently, there is no grant management tool. Sometimes, all the information isn't there. Pros The product is easy to use, but it takes a while to find all of its uses. I like that it's easy to delete a record, but it's sometimes hard to know all the cogs that are moving for what I want to do. I'm used to a database acting one way and NFG acts differently from what I'm used to. Cons I wish I could work through a problem as I encounter it. The biggest challenge was the transition process. We were moving from google drive and several other platforms for ticket sales, emails, etc. so we didn't have any experience with this. It eventually all worked out and the Salsa team really stepped up to accommodate our needs. Pros Salsa is constantly updating the system which really helps nonprofits stay current in the technical trends also helping us make the best use of our time and funds. Pros The ease of implementation by migrating Quickbooks and excel files was great. User interface is very intuitive for a small organization that relies on volunteers for some data entry efforts. Information is now at our fingertips for looking at donor history over 5 years, top donors in previous years, donors who gave last year but not this, etc. Cons As a trade off for ease of use, this program is limited in its reporting capabilities and customization capabilities. Cons I have no negatives yet. Okay, well perhaps . . . I kept getting reminders to meet with my mentor, when I had already done that. But that's not really a bad thing. Cons Probably the only thing, is getting out our end of year letters. The company we had before did that for us, but Network for Good makes it as easy as possible to compile the letters.
