Salsa was great for helping us manage our growing database.

Pros

This was an easy to use software for our small nonprofit and helped us grow. We moved on to a more powerful database with integrated organizing and website management tools, but overall Salsa was a good program.

Cons

It didn't allow us to integrate with our website in the ways that we wanted. We wanted to have more built-in forms and take action options.

We moved from simply accepting paypal payments 4 years ago to Givezooks. Salsa's acquisition and implementation of givezooks into their CRM gives us exactly what we need for our small 501 without paying for a lot we don't.

Pros

How easy it is to create annual campaign and new grassroots fundraising pages.

Cons

I wish my team members could reset their prior year pages without creating new ones, and i could just re-link them to the new annual campaign

Very good. Every problem I had was taken care of in a timely fashion.

Pros

The ease of use after and during training was fantastic. The suport tools, and idea sharing was also a great benefit to a novice user like myself.

Cons

Hmmm, not found many, I guess at the start it would have been the imprting of data directly. I had to do it a few times before it was the ay I needed it to be. I have not used all of the tools available to my for my version yet.

This was our organization's first move to online software. Network for Good helped make our transition go smoothly, especially the importing of our data. We decided to enlist a Coach, which also provided a level of comfort in moving us forward.

Pros

Ease of use, guides that explain processes for each product and their use. The Support is offered and given promptly when needed!

Cons

They are very open to suggestions for improvement. I only made one regarding email blasts.

Easy to use and was a good fit for our organization. One of our partner nonprofit organizations has worked with Network for Good for years and reported their insights and success with their experiences with them.

Pros

This software is customizable and has endless features to help manage all levels of operations. We only use a fraction of its power for what we do, but I am thankful that as CCinc grows, our ability to use the same software will be there since there are more functions we can explore.

Cons

Report Queries are very difficult to understand. This is not an intuitive process and you need to be practiced in queries before trying to use this part of the software.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

This product will provide everything we need as we continue to grow. We won't have to find another product in a few years.

Ease of use. Web based and beta platforms.

Pros

I love that you can store queries and easily edit them to run a completely different report in just a few clicks. Queries are easy to create once you get the hang of it.

Cons

I'm not too keen on the event module. It's just never been something that has worked for our organization. I know many others who love it, but it's just never really worked for us.

Pros

Although I had restricted access of the soft wear because of my volunteer status, I used filters in the donor contacts the most.

Cons

This was my first experience with this type of platform so I wasn't sure how to use charts and grafts in a useful way

I would not recommend this software.

Pros

I do not like much of anything about this software since Salsa took it over. They are non-communicative and support is not good.

Cons

They keep updating the software but they tell the users nothing about what the update is. The user is forced to try and guess what is going on. Each update seems to make something about the software worse. Took 7 days to get a country code added. This took 2 hours when it was Tower Care. Spreadsheet views keep getting messed up. Says there is an error, then the spreadsheet opens and the software closes.

Cons

There are cheaper ways to create a donate page, you just have to do your research.

Pros

It's very easy to use, intuitive, straightforward, easy to set up. They also provide occasional fundraising tips via an e-newsletter that are solid. They offer Peer-to-Peer fundraising as a component of their packages.

Cons

You have to pay for each additional donate page you wish to create beyond what you get in your bundle. They offer different packages, but all have a monthly hosting charge in addition to the standard credit card fee. Once you start using it, it's hard to wean yourself off.

At first the CRM program is over whelming if you are not familiar with a CRM program. There are very good aspects to the program as well as a few downfalls (most of which can be solved by research).

Pros

I appreciate these features: donor cultivation, tasks, custom fields, finance summery options (batches etc), custom appeals and campaigns. The custom campaigns and appeals are perfect for businesses that have multiple and/or ongoing events.

Cons

The Salsa Labs Email product needs some serious updates. Such as E-Mail themes and easy to use forms. The forms are prehistoric compared to other email marketing products (such as constant contacts). Because of the merge of Donor Pro and Salsa, I have to manage three separate accounts (including merchant services) which can take a lot of my time. The help site offers some good training videos but does not always cover the specific questions or topics that I need. This requires more time watching videos in hope that I get my answers. I have usually okay customer service but often get referred to a manager to get my answers. There needs to be more customization properties to the event form to tailor to certain events (individuals vs. teams) and integrating payments according to the sign-up forms.

Pros

Salsa CRM is user friendly and easy to learn. After using similar products this one is the best I have seen and so is their support team! The team goes above and beyond when training and that great service even extends even after training is complete. I always recognize familiar names and voices when I call/email with questions. The also offer online help and training videos so you can stay up-to-date on new functions that may benefit your organization. Salsa CRM offers a fantastic product and the support to meet your needs. They communicate with their customers well and are always updating information for the customers and asking for feedback to make the experience better.

Cons

There is no one thing I would change. If there is something I think may have an idea or have a suggestion, I can submit to Salsa CRM. They always respond to customer feedback and review to see if in is something that can/should be implemented.

### "Inaccurate information "

I found that it doesn’t take into account the customer experience and the reporting provides inaccurate information. What’s worse is that we discovered this accidentally, they already know about it because of complaints, and don’t seem interested in fixing it.

Pros

Customer set is prompt even if not satisfactory

Cons

It provides inaccurate information and staff is unable to provide a work around even though they have had several complaints. They take the decision making away from the customer about important aspects of how we run our organization and they don’t seem concerned about our frustration

Pros

The software is somewhat easy to use - after you play with it a while, you can usually figure it out.

Cons

I have been told our platform looks cheap and almost to the point where people are unsure whether it's "legitimate". It does not have all the capabilities that Donor Pro's peer-to-peer software had so we are unhappy that it feels like we are getting less for our money this year. (e.g. participants were unable to track off-line donations)

### "A game changer for me as the only staff in my nonprofit!"

As a new nonprofit, I am Executive Director and everything else, including fundraiser. I did not have the know-how to create and run a fundraising campaign, let alone the time to do it. I was given a great one-on-one onboarding session that explained the key features. They have great on-demand support within the system when you're logged in. I am also able to set up an appointment for a one-on-one session if I need more assistance on something. I have always felt that Network for Good is there for me when I need help.

Pros

Network for Good is intuitive and easy to use. I created my first fundraising campaign in a matter of minutes, and have now raised almost $20,000 with 4 total campaigns in the first 10 weeks. For me, Network for Good made fundraising easy, professional looking, and successful.

Cons

I had some trouble with a campaign focused on organizations, not individuals. To assign a contact to an organization, you can only select an existing contact. It would be nice to be able to have an organization-based campaign have business info and POC info included in what the person fills out when donating to the campaign.

We couldn’t be happier with NFG ! Provides a fast, easy, free way for us to fundraiser! Highly reccomended!

Pros

Intuitive dashboard, easy to register your non-profit, fast and easy fundraising tools, no fees, customizable fundraisers

Cons

Process to apply for direct deposit needs some work, took way too long for our org to be approved and the verification team made several mistakes, causing us to go without fundraiser funds for an inordinate amount of time. However, they do have really good customer service, can be reached by phone and did resolve the problem, so I’m happy

Pros

It's very easy to direct possible donors to the site and, if they do donate the ease with which you can send a thank you letter and log their donation.

Cons

It was a bit difficult to learn at first but the online tutorials really helped. Not really a con.

Network For Good is allowing us to quickly enter gifts, thank donors, consolidate information, and do some big-shop level fundraising with a small shop.

Pros

NFG's visual interface is so easy to use. The automation of data evaluation (auto-ID of lapsed donors, for instance) allows us to use our time doing donor relations instead. Built-in modules for campaigns and tactics, such as #GivingTuesday are guiding us and making it easy to maximize our impact as small-shop fundraisers.

Cons

Our only issue is the records tiers for pricing. We are currently at the top of one tier, but the next tier is far beyond what we would need so we are struggling to keep our records below the current tier cap.

Feel they could use more support. Though their support team is always friendly and helpful, don't always receive answers in a timely manner. A lot of back and fourth with email when picking up the phone would be faster and easier.

Pros

For the most part Salsa CRM is user friendly, the cost is reasonably priced and works well for our foundation.

Cons

Some features were misleading, did not offer certain things needed for our foundation. Always room for improvement.s

It is helping us to manage our donors more efficiently, the tech support is superb when there is a problem.

Cons

It was difficult to set up initially and there was a learning curve for my colleagues and I. The cost of the software is more than the competition but worth it.

Pros

I loved the idea of having all of our donor information in one place with the capacity to email directly out of the software.

Cons

It is hugely expensive and not overly user friendly. It did not live up to all of the sales hype. Uses Constant Contact as the emailing program with little ability to customize emails...not the same Constant Contact interface. Customer service was responsive but always in sales mode vs problem solving or helping.

Network for Good is enabling our organization to see itself better through the analytical, tracking features of the software. We have better awareness of who are stalwart supporters and who among our supporters could be cultivated to be recurring, long-term contributors. It's leveraging of automated tools, i.e., e-mail blasts, thank you messaging, etc. has increased our efficiency, professionalism and outreach activity all at a cost savings if we were to have continued with our previous way of doing business.

Pros

The acknowledgement features and contact filtering are features that facilitate personalized outreach efforts and also help us discern trends and tendencies among our giving population.

Cons

Mastering the use of the filters to pull together specific data points takes a while.
