osConcert provides a complete solution for customers to reserve and pay for e.g. theatre seats. Because it has evolved over a number of years, there is a wide range of options e.g. reserved/general seating, payment methods, sales via website or box office agents, various ticket options and also many detailed configurable options. Seat plans for different seating layouts can easily be produced. The procedure for getting started with osConcert is to agree a level of support with \[sensitive content hidden\] to set up the system to meet your needs so that you can subsequently manage your events and ticket sales. Although there is a lot of help documentation available, there are a lot of options some of which will require help and explanation.

Pros

We are a small community theatre. osConcert gives a professional appearance to the customer and supports all our practical administration needs. The one-off fee allows us to keep our prices low and not pay additional commission on sales.

Cons

There is an extensive range of options and these are sometimes difficult to find in the Admin interface. However \[sensitive content hidden\] responds very quickly and fully with help.

Pretty good. You pay a one-time fee to purchase the software and then have total control of your ticketing experience as apposed to being held to the whims of a ticketing agency which charges a fee per ticket

Pros

The fact that we have control of our money, it isn't held by a ticketing agency until the end of the show. Gordon is very responsive to any questions we have had.

Cons

Nothing major. There are some minor quibbles but you get that with any software, nothing is perfect.

I really think this is the best event ticketing platform out there and I can't say enough about how good their customer support is.

Pros

Most importantly, customer service is next to none and very responsive. I have posed so many questions during and after implementation and they have all been answered with so much patience. The features of this product are incredible. Every permutation of online ticket sales has been thought of.

Cons

The layout is not as intuitive as other platforms I have used, but the other platforms could not do what osConcert does.

Just the right product for concerts and shows. Plenty of features and easy to use.

Pros

Seating plans are really ease to manage and reuse. Admin hast great overview of all features.

Cons

Sales from same booking appear in the report individually. One option in the report when you can group sales for each user by date would be nice.

Pros

Easy to install and set up. Good value for money. Very responsive customer support. Open source so easy to integrate into existing website design and tweak as needed.

Cons

Some of the settings are a little hard to find at first in the admin client and in the documentation.

We use it to sell tickets on on website.

Pros

If you want to maximize the amount of ticket revenue there is no cheaper option than osConcert. The only fees are the annual fee for software upgrade and support. If you go with PayPal you only pay their fees for purchases. Same with Stripe. Stripe is very easy to use with this. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] has also been very helpful when something goes wrong or even setting up. With each upgrade the software has gotten better and better. It looks very professional.

Cons

Though the report generation options have gotten better there are still some bugs and limitations. However I have not had much difficulty sorting out the minor quirks. I also am able to edit the code myself when I need something in particular. PayPal interactions could be better but that is mostly a difficulty with PayPal constantly changing their interface defaults (Stripe works perfectly). I think you need a bit of web technical savvy to comfortably use your own ticket selling software (but osConcert is one of the easiest -- I have tried several others). If you know nothing you should probably go with one of the dedicated ticket selling providers (Ticketmaster, etc)

Reasons for choosing osConcert

osConcert was the cheapest overall. We didn't like the per ticket fees on top of CC fees.

Very good experience with plenty of quick and helpful support when needed.

Pros

This software is great as a one off solution rather than pay by ticket options of other companies. Very easy to self manage and adapt for each use. Plenty of options and choices and ability to keep it simple or expand features as needed.

Cons

Ability to copy seating plans and adapt them but this has just been released as a new feature!

Reasons for choosing osConcert

osConcert was chosen due to the ability to purchase once off and have control over the software. pArt from an ongoing yearly payment for support here was no need to worry about fees on an ongoing basis. This is much easier to control costs and retain show income for the group.

A bit of a learning curve but customer service is good at assisting with this. There are tutorials that are helpful as well. Too many clicks to purchase a ticket frustrates customers. Would like other choices to use other than PayPal for revenue deposit. Like directly into my business checking account.

Pros

Scanning tickets, being an admin to add and change things quickly, having control over my own ticket program. Less ticket fees.

Cons

Too many clicks to purchase a ticket. However the new version is suppose to have less clicks to purchase tickets. Once my website is completely updated will purchase the new Version. Wish it had an option of connecting to my Bank so ticket revenue is directly deposited to my business bank account.
