Pros: Many options available for faculty and staff to personalize content for individual students. Whether they need help academically, socially, psychologically, or something else. Students are connected directly to the most appropriate office on campus to help them resolve their issue.
Cons: Starfish as a software platform is slow and not very intuitive. Load times take forever and you have to dig through menus to find the correct applications you want to sue.. It doesn't integrate well with Moodle or other systems on my campus. Updating information is tedious and time consuming.
Overall: When a student is having trouble academically, socially, or psychologically are are better able to identify them before the issues become too large to handle. We are making better gains in retention of students exhibiting various problems. It helps to create a more connected campus.
