No benefits at all. What is the benefit of the program you Purchased! If you don't own it.

NOTHING, IF YOU DON'T OWN YOUR DATA. When you 'purchased' something you should own it.

Cons

1\. Too long to get support 2. I would urge everyone NOT to buy this program. 3. I have paid $465.00 per year for the past two years, that is $930.00. I have just received a renewal notification for another $465.00. WHAT !!!!!!! I rang C.F.M. to advise them that our business has now closed down due to COVID-19 and that I don't want to renew for 12 more months BUT I do need access TO MY DATA, to be able to complete all Financials etc. TO MY SHOCK I was informed if I didn't renew another $465.00 that they would give me TWO DAYS GRACE after the due renewal. 4. DO NOT BUY THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, IT WILL END UP COSTING YOU MORE THAN SOME OF THE BEST FINANCIAL PROGRAMS. IT IS A JOKE. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. Cheap to get started in my business. Tracked the basics.

Pros

If you want the simplest basic accounting software available to run your sole trader business then this could be it. It is a "to the point" software for simple business structures.

Cons

Does not have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive boys on the block. Could benefit from a facelift.

Pros

This program was great for our small business when we purchased it outright some 20 years ago. It managed our day to day business just fine and they would add new features from year to year to keep up with our needs. We were happy to pay the yearly support fee in case we had any problems or questions, though rarely used it over the 20 years.

Cons

When a Microsoft update caused problems back in 2018 the owners of this company, and I use the word company very loosely, simply lost the plot when it comes to what their customers were after. Simple things such as emailing an invoice through to a customer became a major project each day with the company quick to blame Microsoft and extremely reluctant to help out. After it was clear that there was no help in sight we switched over to Quickbooks cloud based system. After seeing the new features we were entitle to we should have done it sooner. Our punishment for leaving Cashflow Manager was for them to lock us out of some of the features of our existing program that we had paid for outright some 20 years earlier. What a disgrace!

Now charge me for using OWN Files where I have owned them since choosing Cash Flow in 1990

Hi Robert, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the changes we have made to the pricing structure of our product. Cashflow Manager has moved to a Software as a Service provider to ensure that we are able to provide our customers with a great service that helps them meet ATO requirements. The pricing structure we have moved to is on a per business/ ABN basis which meets with ATO requirements for reporting at an individual business level. Files in Cashflow Manager refer to an individual business/ ABN each of which now requires its own subscription. This change was communicated to all subscribers in March 2020 & rolled out on 14th April 2020. We are working hard to develop features that continue to make our software a simple, easy to use & value for money option for small & micro businesses, to give them back the time they need to spend on their business. ### "Mediocre Software, Shady Subscriptions"

Our church purchased the desktop version of Cashflow Manager and used that for ~8 years. We persisted in the face of bugs and data corruption. Recently we were convinced to purchase a 12 month subscription, on the understanding that we could cancel or go to month-to-month at the end. However, during that 12 month period they changed their terms and conditions to allow them to auto-renew for another 12 months without consulting us. I cancelled immediately upon learning of this, but they had also added a 30-day cancellation period and refused to refund the charge. In summary then, mediocre software backed by shady business practices. Avoid this company and their software. You'd be better off setting your money on fire, because at least then you'd save on heating bills.

Pros

The software was relatively simple to install, using standard install technologies.

Cons

We experienced frequent crashes and occasional data corruption (requiring us to send my data files in to customer service for correction). The overall UI is woeful, and simple things take a long time. The software lacks the basic automation features you would expect in a modern accounting package (e.g. bank feeds, though I understand they may have a basic version of this in their cloud product). Oh, and when you decide to move to another provider, forget being able to export any data. I found it easier to reconstruct data in our new platform from bank feeds and automation than it was to try and manually copy stuff out of Cashflow.

Pros

For a simple business, Cashflow Manager Gold was our vehicle of choice and worked well for us as our business progressed. It was not a sophisticated program by any measure when compared to other available offerings but it was certainly the most reasonably priced initially. We did move over to a competitors program in time as our needs became more complex.

Cons

Perhaps, with cost being a factor in our initial decision to go with Cashflow Manager, it was remiss of us not to further investigate the disparity as it would certainly appear to be one of those 'you get what you pay for' decisions. We note the use of the word 'extortionists' used elsewhere in these reviews to describe the actions of Cashflow Manager in dealing with some of their clients and our experience has decidedly left us with no doubt that such a description is justified. We were quite happy with their limited program for what remaining files we were using with an earlier version, at least until the release of the latest Microsoft Update eventually locked us out by default as we became 'no longer supported' unless we paid to update to a newer version at considerable cost, hence the 'extortionist' tag. All this on the 18th June, which for many would be a considerable imposition being unable to access any of the files in their existing version unless a fee is paid to upgrade to a newer version. Not for us with our side-by-side MYOB program as it is really little more than an inconvenience. Our sympathy does go out to those who did not have the foresight to changeover prior to this time as we suspect there would be many small operators held to ransom by these people who, after all, just have to make their program compatible with the Microsoft Updates as they occur. Be advised, it's all OK but if you're in for the long run it would be better to look elsewhere.

Customer service was very poor and useless. Never responded to any emails. When phoneing to try and getr any answers, put on hold for over 40 minutes and then eventually put through to a foreign country call center. When asking for the information I was given to be provided in an email, it never came.

Pros

Nothing. It is old technology that does not compete with the best software available. Always one step behind its competitors. Support is useless.

Cons

Beware of this company. When we moved across to a far better and more modern suer friendly and compliant software company, we did not realise that Cashflow Manager would want us to continue to pay an indeifinte ongoing fee to access our old data. How dishonest and decieptful. We have changed software providers several times over the last 10 years to suit our needs and all other software companyies allow a read only access to your old data. Not Cashflow manager. what a bunch of crooks.

The software did the job - good. It was purchased outright initially then there were endless emails encouraging you to get the latest version. When the online version was launched the old files were no longer compatible - good tactic for the program owners but not a great way of endearing yourself to existing customers. There was no support for old versions even if you wanted to pay.

Pros

It did the job it was designed to do - BAS, General ledger

Cons

The features should have been good but getting them was cumbersome and counterintuitive. It turned a one hour job into a two day job.

We have used this software since our accountant recommended it. Customer service is basically non existent meaning any issues required working it out for ourselves. The final straw was we work in areas that have no network conection so being able to use it offline and own it was great, until I made the mistake to take the partitioned section of my mac online and cashflow have locked me out of everything until I pay the new greedy subscription. Now we need another product and accountant because I will not support this mob. Do not buy this program.

Pros

That I owned it and our accountant recommended it.

Cons

Very poor invoice section and support but stuck with it because our accountant used it. Now with being locked out and being held for ransom I am not impressed.

Extortionists!! I cancelled my subscription to use another program which was better. Needed to reactivate Cashflow to be told I had to pay 10 months worth of subscriptions to print out some reports! Bad customer service & can never get through to anyone takes weeks for a call back

Absolutely shocking, they are uncontactable! I will be switching elsewhere.

Pros

It is easy to use, is cloud based which is handy if using at work or at home.

Cons

My account was cancelled by them and I can't access it. I've lost 9 months of data. Supposedly there was a problem with the billing that had worked quite well for a long time without any issues. There is literally NO customer support. I've been on the phone for days trying, on hold, going nowhere. I've emailed multiple times, I've tweeted them and still haven't received any contact at all. I've seen other reviews and tweets saying the same thing.

The extortionisst nature of cloud based programs Cashflow manager have fully embraced. The way things are going if they owned a shoe shop and sold you a pair of shoes they would lock you out of your house and wardrobe if you didn't pay a monthly subscription to them to wear them. Cashflow Manager seemingly studied the cloud based models and targeted their own business program to make the most out of their customers they could. Initially a great program now screwed no thanks to the owner.

Pros

I liked the purchase outright, the spreadsheet type format.

Cons

Problems correctly loading software, appalling customer service (at one stage non-existent), extortionist like cloud based programme. Other monthly subscriptions make it user friendly to correct a missed payment, not this one. It would not be surprising if their greed ultimately saw this software sold out to a bigger fish.

Customer service was appalling. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] spoke to me like I was an imbecile. When I asked him to stop doing it that he kept going and told me he had done a good job. I told him he spoke over me, did not listen to me, and that he was rude. I asked to speak to his manager and he said no. The issue was that I had paid for a subscription (new business model now prejudicial to long term loyal customers) and the software does not work on my Mac. He said well it's your fault you didn't read the website. I said I am a long term customer and I just wanted to keep the program going so paid it. I didn't read the website and when I looked at it later it did not advertise this limitation on the main page. If you pay the subscription unwittingly it will debit your card then you will not be able to operate the program, and you will not get a refund. They will also not direct you to ways you could have your Mac run windows to run the program "go to a computer expert". This company used to be great but have now lost any credibility. Do not, I repeat do not buy from them. They would get hundreds if not thousands of people being hoodwinked and are making money off them with no ability for redress. Shocking in this day and age when customer service is so vital.

Purchased, bought updates and paid for technical support with Cashflow Manager happily for 30 years Last couple of years after sale of our business just used the program had purchased without updating or paying for the support as not needed. Two weeks ago, without warning my access to Cashflow Manager was cut off, if i wish to retrieve any data have to pay them a years subscription. No negotiation. (I feel like i'm being blackmailed)

Cons

No help from there help line, just talking over me and trying to justify their actions Would not deal with them again and suggest you be very wary about Cashflow Manager

Very bad experience dealing with a disreputable company who have no qualms about acting illegally to put money in their coffers. Imagine if Microsoft acted like that and denied you access to all your documents unless you subscribed to their online product.

Pros

I bought this software several years ago after a recommendation from my accountant and it performed as expected. Nothing special, but it did the job like many other programs.

Cons

Be prepared to be harassed by this company. After purchase I received regular emails trying to get me to pay a software maintenance fee which was about 70-80% of the original purchase price yearly. I ignored it until I tried to access it one day and found that they had illegally accessed my PC and removed the license that I had paid for so I can't even access the years that I had completed. Their excuse was that I had to purchase a subscription because that is all they offer now and the old software is no longer compliant with current requirements but what about access to my prior years records. Too bad, you have to pay!!!

\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] from Support was condescending when discussing the fact they took money out of my account without my permission.

Pros

Product was fairly easy to use and linked into the Australian Taxation departments requirements and obligations

Cons

Each year I would update my subscription (not cheap) and would perhaps once a year call the help desk. Very hard to get anyone to answer the phone. They provide a call back system (nobody calls back). Most times the help desk was unable to fix the issue. I finished and retired from Business last November yet this February they automatically took AUS $ 468 unlawfully out of my bank account and are refusing to return my money. I have never given permission for them to take money out as I have always called them to pay over the phone or do a bank transfer. They must have illegally kept my bank details to be able to take the money out of my account.

Untill 2018 I was happy with the service and product. Not now, I will explore other options.

Pros

It works and has suited our small business needs since 2007

Cons

As on 2018 we have been forced to pay monthly for this system, we purchased it outright in 2007 however this year monthly fees were introduced. I have had issues with the system this past week and have not been able to resolve these with cashflow, I have been on hold for long periods, cut off, not received requested call backs last Thurs, Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday, I needed to re-do our invoice layout as it was corrupted ? and when re-doing it was very glitchy, I ended up getting a tech person in on Wednesday to sort this out for me as I had had no assistance from cashflow.

### "Bad back up service"

I have asked CFM for a refund of my subscription fee because I am unable to use the software which they have flatly refused

Pros

I've used CFM since 2002 and found it easy to use.

Cons

I have not been able to use it since they locked me out and forced me to upgrade to a net version. It disappears off my screen as soon as I open it. This has happened on 4 of my computers. Re- installing it hasn't helped. It takes 30 mins before a phonecall to the support team gets answered and the answer they gave me was that it was a problem with my computers.
