It has been a great experience thus far and we've seen the wisdom and potential with growing our business with the FieldEdge System.

Pros

1\. FieldEdge is a very intuitive tool that has streamlined Pohlman Plumbing & Home Services daily operational processes. 2. The dispatching drag & drop, creation of works orders, assigning multiple techs for multiple days is super easy. 3. Ability to generate detailed reporting for more granular Business Intelligence.

Cons

1\. Google Map for the dispatching could be bigger. 2. Viewing multiple unassigned work order on the map at the same time. -When a technician arrives at a work order early, it does not move it on the dispatch board. Suggestion; it should move to show the office that they now have more time available on the board.

Pros

Hard to say anything nice about the software when I have been working on getting flat rate items to work for over a month now.

Cons

Implementation of Callahan & Roach flat rate into FieldEdge has been an absolute nightmare. What should have been simple has not only taken way to long in my opinion but it has officially lost me money on a few service calls.

We have been using Desco since June of 2015 when we decided to switch from a different dispatching software. I was hesitant to switch because of the time it had taken me to set up our old software and didn't want to deal with new head aches. After finally taking the big leap I was in shock of how easy it was to get up and running and how helpful and patient the staff is. Definitely this is one of the best business decisions we've made. Our company is growing and we have been able to keep up mainly because of Desco and its power to be in control. I have learned how to make it work for me and make my job much easier. As new situations come up I quickly run it by the staff and they amazingly always have good news for me as to how this software will help me make my job easier. I don't see our company switching from Desco, I'm sure we will keep discovering every single resource it has to offer us. In the past 10 months I am still able to learn new things as I go, sometimes daily. I definitely recommend this product if you don't have one in place or if the one you are using currently is giving you nothing but dead ends.

Pros

The customer support staff has provided the best training that we could ask for. With the training that we have received we been able to utilize the software very easily and comfortably. His knowledge, patience and guidance has helped us benefit from Fieldedge in so many levels. He's never overwhelming, i love that he follows up to ensure we are happy with the software and if we have any questions. His passion for what he loves doing definitely has shine since day one!!!

Cons

I have not had any issues to report at this moment. The System updates are constant but a necessary to improve the software.

Cons

Set up took a while to perfect. Between menu pricing and the existing customer list, getting it all into the system correctly took time.

Great software, and support! Considering the circumstances we were under to convert to new software, I don't think we would have gotten as good of service and support from any other providor. I would defintely recommend this software to anyone!

Pros

Access to the different modules is much easier, and quicker. Much of the processing is streamlined, and access to doing other transactions is very easy. I was concerned about the accounting module, but it is very comparable to others that I have worked with, and very user friendly. Implementation and conversion was so much easier than I expected.

Cons

Using the mouse instead of tabbing/entering, slows down things a bit. I think we prefer getting around the other way. Also, the company remittance portion of checks, doesn't give enough information. I have to write down the vendor name, date, etc., on our copy for our records, as it doesn't print that info.

The most important part of our business is quoting jobs. The customer service people say " quoting is our weak point". Yeah, it doesn't work. Most of the features don't work properly for our company. A significant amount of history from Quickbooks wasn't transferred into FieldEdge and about 95% of the information that was transferred from Quickbooks wasn't correct - the customers' addresses were not transferred. We are having to manually enter most of them. We continue to have technical problems and are unable to login. This is causing major problems for our dispatchers.

Too many unproductive parts and not enough help with work. Too many bells & whistles.

Pros

Customer service was great getting started. They worked and answered questions they knew the answer to.

Cons

Not user friendly for techs in the field. Work orders started could not be changed. We ran into many issues that customer service and training had problems with. We wanted a program to make work easier this added more steps and more complicated. Gave us nice credit BEFORE PAYMENT...Then kept a substantial amount of my money we paid when we canceled before the 30 days was up. Not as much knowledge about Quickbooks syncing as we were lead to believe by the first salesman.

Pros

Multiple Warehouses and ability to track and manage, Custom reporting, custom fields, custom invoice forms. Great customer support. Have used ESC for a long time, and am very happy with how it works. Good Customer Service.

Cons

Not the most modern looking software, the mobile app doe not quite work for our work flow. Wish you could take the software and create a cloud based system!

We switched to ESC just over a year ago, the transition went very smoothly and we were able to customize a lot of the program to suit our company. The program is so easy to use and if I am unsure I just click the help button which takes me right to a list of tutorials or I do a live chat which is super quick, no waiting for a help desk to call back. I am obsessed with the webinars - the best part is that they record them so you can watch as you do it and pause when you need to! The biggest value ESC has added to our company is efficiency - with the mechanics invoicing using mobile we can upload the invoice, take payment and book return calls before he has even pulled out of the driveway. If a customer calls and asks for a copy of an invoice or a statement of their account we can email with one click they have it before they hang up the phone. The marketing tools that are available within the program are amazing! I would highly recommend this ESC!

We have been using ESC for just over 2 years and cant say enough for how great its been. We are a locksmith company, so we have 6 vans as well as a shop and office and currently use it for all of our accounting, ordering, dispatching, and billing. The only real issue we have had is the POS takes a bit to get used to, but the benefits to managing the workflow, ease of use and ability to facilitate clear communication through the company more than make up for it. By far the best part has been the support we have received. They have an EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful staff who go above and beyond to resolve any issues even if it may not necessarily be an issue with their software. Additionally they are very open to suggestions to improve the software and seem to constantly be working to make it better each year.

Overall this was a good product. Most days I would recommend it to others.

Pros

Not a bad program. It's easy to use once you get use to it. Starting out was hard. It was even harder for my collegues who had to switch over from the old program. The dispatch board is really easy to use.

Cons

I've been asked to send in a review. Talked to some people in our company and asked them for their view. The number one suggestion was for the ability to be in a quote be and still able to copy the parts and and materials over to another quote, change the quote number, change teh type of quote AND have the ability to pull a GENERAL quote, give it a quote number, customer and give it materials and labor specific to that job. An UNDO button. I'd like to be able to see the date that the price was last changed for an item in the computer.

Pros

Easy to create dispatches, easy to create invoices, and inventory tracking is great. The ability to automatically put inventory from warehouses when it gets sold using flat rate codes is very efficient.

Cons

The reports leave a little to be desired. Maybe rewording some reports so they're more easily found and you instantly know where to find them would be good.

We most liked the scheduling aspect of the software as well as the integration with Quickbooks!

Cons

It was extremely difficult to navigate - had almost too many features. The technicians also struggled to learn the software, therefore cutting down on them actually using the software. May be suited for a larger company.

Cons

Sometimes sales are a little slow returning calls regarding purchasing other features when you are already an established customer.

We've been using the ESC software almost since the inception of our company. What sold us on it initially was the gentle learning curve. The features that are most important to the day-to-day workings of your business are easy to learn and in plain sight. However, once you are comfortable with the basics of the software, you quickly learn that there are a wealth of advanced features (drill-down reports, advanced dispatching techniques, mobile applications, serialized inventory, etc.) that can really let you fine-tune the software to your exact needs. We came for the software, but we stayed for the post-sale support. Even years after our purchase, we are still impressed with how hands-on and personal the Customer Support is. Just like any business, we run into questions or issues that we simply don't know the answer to. Desco always picks up the phone. On several occasions, they've gone far beyond the call of duty to help us with immediate concerns, and you can't put a price on that.

Audit trail, better dispatch mapping, lose mappoint, way to see all dispatches on a map, maybe at get map button, when you click, it open a google map page with the address filled in, Scanning of parts on dispatch and parts verification of dispatch through bar code scanning Way to create a packing list from dispatches Create a PO field on Customer Locations screen so you can locate a customer by PO, just like search for address, name, etc, need a way to prevent duplicate locations under a customer or some sort of notification. Pull documents attached to Customer into Dispatches, so that duplicate documents don't get attached. need a way to pull equipment from parts list in a dispatch to the equipment screen, maybe some sort of auto fill.

Pros

Nice upgrade from version 10, but still a ways to go

Cons

no audit functions, needs better dispatching board and maps, need way to prevent duplicate locations under customers

Pros

We started using Fieldedge in May 2018. Since then we have clear procise reports of collections. The entire office and Technicians can see what is going on with each account. Easy to use and manage.

Cons

Not really sure we have any issues that customer service has not helped with. Any issues they have immediatley jumped in to help us with.

Excellent product and support!

Pros

The amount of customer information available instantly is powerful. Tracking service calls, equipment, invoices, purchases, repair recommendation, dispatch notes, payment history are all recorded and can be retrieved within a couple of seconds. All of which allows us to be confident whenever we speak with our customers. It's equally valuable for tracking inventory, vendor purchases, prices, etc. ESC is the only way to successfully manange service agreements. It takes all of the guess work out and elminates anything from slipping through the cracks. ESC has proven to be our most valuable tool for taking care of our customers.

Cons

It took a little more time than I expected to get up to speed but well worth the effort.

I have been a dispatcher and now office manager in the HVAC and plumbing service industry for over 10 years and have used many different platforms and software for file management and dispatch, ESC is by far the fastest to create and assign a work order. The dispatch board is a great visual tool to assess the work day and the drag and drop feature for dispatches is a huge time saver. I have had nothing but positive experiences on the few occasions I have had to call support and have even had a technician offer to do a free system update which he scheduled for the weekend to minimize our service interruption.

We have been using ESC for a little over two years as well as the mobile application with the Service Specialist using Ipads in the field. We recently started using the mobile invoicing feature that allow the personnel to present options to the customer and digital invoice on the fly. This has been absolutely great! We were able to free up office staff time from invoice data entry which frees staff up to do more productive task. We have also increased our customer email database exponentially. The email capture allows us to communicate with our customers more efficiently. The Service Specialist frequency of COD collection has gone up. The amount of credit cards we accept has also gone up. We have more access to the program. Easier scheduling from the road. Keeping track of KPI's moving forward for the next owner.

Pros

Switching from Desco to fieldedge will be worth it. More available features and even more coming all the time. A lot friendlier than the desco software, even for a mechanic with limited computer skills. Being able to load your items onto an excel spreadsheet makes it nice.

Cons

Setting up a way to quote with good, better, best. I wish I could figure it out. My winter project!!

I enjoy ESC for my dispatching needs. It integrates well with my Quickbooks. I did notice that many times it will not save a phone number into QB when entering a customer in ESC. Also, any notes entered in ESC do not transfer back which is a major hassle and time waster. Recently I encountered a major issue with QB15.0 and ESC not being able to work together. The accounting server would not accept the new version of QB. My tech support, Josh S., was extremely helpful. He spent almost 7 hours with me over the course of a week to resolve my issue, as well as using several other people in the office. He was kind and professional. My issue has not been fully resolved due to errors with my actual computer. However, using my boss's computer, we are functioning as an office again. I'm very pleased with the level of service from tech support. Thanks!
