The more information you feed into FieldEdge the more you will get out of it. We are constantly learning what we can add, what we can track and how to help our company run a little smoother.

Pros

\- Great Customer Service - FieldEdge is constantly adding new features - No more data entry for the office - Techs can see customer history and equipment info. - accountability of staff

Cons

GPS and credit card processing is still separate. And time it takes to schedule customers is taking us a little longer.

Great support and folks to work with. Like the ESC application. Make it easier to use.

Pros

Fairly easy to use. Many features. Like the Tech route planning, remote dispatching and ability for techs to receive updates, work orders and receive payments while on-site. Very good support and everyone is knowlegeable on the product. ESC has worked to respond to the user's request for changes/enhancements.

Cons

Help menu needs to be easier to use. Generating reports is very difficult. Hard to find what report will give the data you are looking for. Needs to be much more user friendly. The many features are great but most of the time it is difficult to figure out how to use.

Pro, I find it easy to reach tech support answering service, but takes awhile for a tech to call back during my business hours. I do take long support lines into consideration. On a good note, when I do have a tech to call me back, I have good results and they can find my problem or even a mistake that I make on my end. Today a tech support guy by the name of Owen was a big help for me, and found my problem. I wanted to take this survey to commend him. Means something to me to give phrase for a job well done, instead of negativity. I let Owen know how he helped me and I was pleased. Desco support has never let me down, I find them pleasant and helpful. Today my hat is off to Owen. I had stressed over the problem and he was able to help me, and he made my day. Overall, I'm happy we choose this program. Many of our problems are because we are learning as we go and because we live in a rural area with spotty cell phone service. The customer service has been good, but not great. Sometimes they take a while to respond. This is the first program that we have had like this, so it's difficult to compare it to anything.

Pros

The program has a lot of good features that took us from doing everything on paper to tablets. The dispatching to the tablets and the availability of customer information is great to have.

Cons

Data transfer was a little rough. We have a lot of areas that are out of cell phone service. The program is extremely limited and slow when either in the offline mode or a bad signal. When we have a full signal, the program works rather well. It takes a lot of work to get all of the information loaded into the program. Training was fast and furious.

I HAVE USED SEVERAL DIFFERENT DISPATCHING PRODUCTS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND THIS ONE HANDS DOWN IS THE BEST. EVERYTHING FROM CREATING THE WORK ORDERS TO SYNCING INFORMATION TO QUICKBOOKS IS AS SIMPLE AS IT GETS. IF I DO HAVE ANY ISSUES, FIELD EDGE SUPPORT IS ALWAYS ON HAND TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS AND WALK ME THROUGH ANY ISSUE I MAY HAVE. THIS PROGRAM HAS ALSO BEEN EASY FOR MY TECHS TO USE OUT IN THE FIELD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR SIMPLICITY AND TO CUT DOWN ON HAVING TO USE MORE THAN 1 PROGRAM TO RUN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

Excellent choice for growing business with need for more information without spending a fortune.

Pros

Simple and easy to use - integrates with QuickBooks for solid financial information. Has an inventory feature that allows tracking of materials by truck/warehouse with reorder feature. Program allows us to track cutomer information and dispatch our technicians in the field via netbooks where they can view customer history and equipment.

Cons

Once posted it is hard/impossible to change or update cutomer information or invoices with payments attached. Technicians are not able to search cutomer history without creating a dispatch in the field.

I would highly recommend this software package to everyone.

Pros

ESC is a well rounded product. It does all of the basics that we would want a service dispatching system to do. The best part is that it keeps developing and new features are being added all of the time. We are excited to grow with ESC!

Cons

One limitation that I think that ESC has is that it can not be customized for an individual company. Currently a request has to be made for changes. However, the request will only happen if there are many requests from different users for the same change. Also, I would like to see a deeper integration with their software partners.

From an IT perspective this application should continue to expand and have enhancements implemented. That being said, out of the box this software was easy to install on a stand alone server and configuring end user clients was quick. Ran into a few bugs post install but nothing ESC Support could not handle. In my 20 plus years of I.T. experience, ESC support has the fasted response to resolution time I have seen yet. Well done to Shelly White who resolved a recent issue which ended up being a user error. :} Takes a little to get used to the navigation as does any application, but to date, I have had zero business interruptions due to technical problems with the application. Over All: Solid application, I look forward to some enhancements that I have submitted.

Pros

Esc software has helped our company grow by utilizing the latest technology. I like how the diffeent levels of mobile dispatching are available to fit the company budget. We have improved our profitability by utilizing the many sales reporting functions. Esc has webinars regularly which enable my employees to obtain training on site.

Cons

Does not have a mobile support staff. I would like to see online support through chat would make it quicker for the easier questions, sometimes have to wait a while for a support tech to call back

Highly recommend this to all companies looking for a system to use. I have used others and I like the cleanness of this system and now that we are up & running the functionality.

Pros

TMS did not have a system, everything was manual. This system has allowed me to streamline our processes and keep track of time, materials, etc. We have only begun to tap into all the resources ESC offers.

Cons

I was a user at another company and it was all set up. I had a tough time setting up. It took longer than I anticipated. I would have liked a "think" sheet for the set up. What did I need to think about to set up my company!

Cons

Customer service is lacking once you go live it is a little pricey compared to some of the other software out there.

I would definately recommend this software to anyone, its very simple to use and easy to get used to.

Pros

\*Ease of use - Very easy to get used to how it works and everything is very simple to use \*Activities button allows you to navigate from screen to screen with out closing the screen you're working in \*Alot of VERY good reports \*Creating your own forms (invoices,statements,etc)

Cons

\*Everything is listed in alphebetical order only - Not a way to change the settings to use with numerical order \*Some items (eg. Job costing) don't have their own Tab and are listed under various tabs

We recently reviewed many software vendors and based on pricing, features and mostly support. We stayed with ESC and upgraded to the latest release. Customer support is above all others, extremely fast and efficient with helping resolve even the smallest issues if any come up. With the excellent software package there are very little if any issues and they are usually a configuration issue on the pc itself and not in the actual software. We highly recommend ESC for any company providing a field service such as HVAC, Plumbing, Elecrtical... If you have techs in the field and a customer database, inventory, equipment and service history to track. ESC is a 1-stop software package and can even handle accounting if needed.

I've worked with Desco software for several years both ESC and now Field Edge they are both great soft ware packages. The field Edge seem very easy to use and has features that will help you run your business and make more profit. Great program

Pros

Ease of use, very user friendly. And the tech support is second to none. Best I've ever had in 23 years in business. dispatching the closest tech to a job is a great way to save money. Want to change your pricing ease get this program

Cons

Cant think of any con. Maybe it's color is green and I love blue, no I think they made it Green because it help you make more money.

I would definitely recommend it to others who have businesses that involve servicing customers. It's a powerful program that can contribute a lot.

Pros

Does a great job at bringing together dispatching, purchasing and inventory control, invoicing. and accounting. It's definitely contributed to our ability to be more productive. Does a good job Integrating with accounting software. The team at dESCO is responsive and works to continually improve the program.

Cons

Not everything is intuitive. The program can do a lot, but training is needed (and expensive for a small company).

It is the best customer software we have ever used here. We love it and it does thing other don't. I left them for a while do to having to go to another system and I'm so glad to be back. It does thing the other system couldn't even think about doing. I would love to tell you all the things we have learn to do with this software, but it would be several pages. Jus t get to touch with them and take it for a test run, You will love it.

We realize that we are not using ESC to it's full capability and have been working on that within our company, TRAINING, TRAINING, TRAINING! While we are getting used to it the customer service we have received from everyone at ESC and in particular Scott is PERFECT. Whenever I have a question someone responds right away and has the patience to walk us through the problem and solve it! The mobile option for our technicians is awesome and has helped us manage our customers resulting in higher customer service ratings and ultimately revenue. I would recommend ESC and the customer service they provide, and thank you Scott for being so responsive, professional, and knowledgeable!

If work flow and functionality on the mobile app were more closely related to the desktop app it would be much simpler.

Pros

It is easy to add and edit customers. It's also easy to add work orders for dispatch, from the customer screen.

Cons

Workflow wasn't efficient. Isn't completely integrated with Quickbooks online, and only has 3rd party merchant services.

I have personally used several dispatch programs in past 25 years and find this software to be the most efficient and user friendly of any I've had experience with. Desco also has very good technician, customer and equipment tracking abilities and most searches are there for a quick glance to obtain needed information. We have been able to structure Desco to the details specific to our business which is priceless. In addition, the inventory and accounting has been more than satisfactory to suit our needs. Desco's technical support team is extremely helpful in quickly supplying in-depth help, regardless of how simple or complex the problem at hand is.

Yes I would recommend ESC for others to use

Pros

ESC is good for dispatching and keeping track of inventory and a good overall program, I find using ESC user friendly Customer Support is very good

Cons

ESC is not very good at keeping reports, I would like to see a better way of running and viewing reports. Customer Support could be better in their response time and I have found that not all of the support team is as customer user friendly as others and not all of the support team have the same knowledge on the product.

Stop shopping around and sign up with Desco today. It will pay for itself almost immediately and change the way your business operates.

Pros

Streamlines the entire service department. Saves time, money and aggravation. We used to have to input and post every invoice by hand.....Now, with mobile dispatching our guys can receive a dispatch, update their status, complete an invoice and collect payment without ever calling or returning to the office.

Cons

Takes some time to learn but once you do there is no turning back.

Your service is excellent. I called with a major problem (for me) that I created. They told me the technician would call me back as soon as possible. Tim called our company with in a few minutes and had my problem fixed within 30 seconds! This type of service of having support from people such as Tim, that knows the ESC system very well is invaluable to us as a company. He not only fixed our problem he taught me how to do the task properly. I have dealt with companies that their tech support had to look in a manual to find out how to fix problems. Excellent people make excellent companies and that is Desco!
