Individual Gifts Officer Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "The BEST bang for your buck and more" May 28, 2019 5.0 Overall, for having this be the first and only auction software I've ever used, this has been an amazing experience. I loved learning the ins and outs of Auctria, and strongly recommend it for smaller auctions, and if the slight kinks are worked out, strongly recommend it for big auctions. There's a lot of potential with Auctria, and I'm hoping they succeed. I think they will Pros I loved most everything Auctria has to offer. 1.) The team there is phenomenal. I don't think I've ever gotten such instant quality support on anything so consistently in my ENTIRE life. Literally, when I send a support email, I expect a reply back in maybe a day or two. Auctria responds in less than 3 hours, sometimes in literally HALF an hour. amazing. 2.) Even without all my nonsense questions, the guides that Auctria has are very detailed and I could relatively easily figure everything out myself – which I mostly did, but it's nice having the Auctria team to ask questions to. Especially since they're so accessible! 3.) Their features to capture donor information is second to none. My favorite thing about Auctria is how they made the capture of information BEFORE the event so simple and easy. The only thing that sucks was having to input "guest" information at the event, but Auctria tied every guest to the purchaser, so even then, they covered bases by allowing us to know who to contact if we needed something from someone. 4.) From silent auctions, to online, to even live, Auctria literally covers everything so well and seamlessly. 5.) Checking out final bids is so easy. no chasing down people for cc information – with maybe one or two who for some reason chose not to register their card. Cons 1.) Auctria's only con that I found so far was with it's app and online bidding. I didn't find online bidding so seamless, when someone needs either an email address/bidding number and a password in order to log in. As I was testing the app, I found befuddled on why someone needed a password, and found that some people weren't able to make a password, effectively not allowing them to bid online. I rectified this with having online kiosks, but we definitely lost some money because of this. We might not use Auctria next year because of this which saddens me. I would also recommend it to anyone who is needing a program to help with their auction needs. Pros I like the item add page. It is simple but allows for a lot of information to be shared. The website is also very professional-looking but easy to make and maintain. Cons We ran into problems with reporting our live auction. I wish I could have just clicked a "next" button to go to the next item instead of having to go back through the entry process each time. Also, we put live winning bids in after the auction, and for some reason, Auctria didn't record them and people were waiting to check out and couldn't. Trying to find meal options took awhile. It took too long to add all the auction items due to all the clicks to create a new item entry Pros Liked the event website, pretty easy to add everything you need. There is a lot of functionality available for data, wish it was easy to find Cons It would have been helpful to have the items on a spreadsheet format that you could edit easily. It was difficult to always have to click on the edit item then have another page open to edit. I had so many pages open, it got confusing. Auctria was helpful in every aspect of building our Gala & auction, from the website for people to buy tickets, sponsorships or donate, to the ability to send emails to participants before and after the event. This robust system manages check in and out, tracks payments, live and paper bidding items, sponsorships and all the transactions during the event. It shows gross and net revenue throughout. What a great system! Pros Auctria has the most amazing customer support! They exceed their motto of responding within 30 minutes. I found it was usually less than 10 minutes. The staff was always helpful and able to answer my questions, often sending a video or screen shot to explain their answer to my questions. Cons The cost is a little steep for a small nonprofit organization, but the value of the system made it worth the cost. Volunteer, not an employee Renewables & Environment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Auctria saved the day in 2020, still does today" April 15, 2026 5.0 My first experience was when our organization did a live and silent in-person auction in 2019. We were preparing to do that again when our in-person event got cancelled due to Covid. Thanks to Auctria, we were able to (almost) seamlessly change from an in-person to on-line event within a week. By going online we were able to reach a much wider and larger audience, and cut down on the overhead of an in-person event. We eventually did return to a gathering and live auction, but no more silent auctions with people running around during mealtime (and live auction time) to check up on their bids. Pros It just does so much and allows for creativity in making categories, carrying over donors from year to year, and live auction checkout goes fairly quickly. Cons Sometimes because it can do so much what you want to do is not immediately intuitive, but that is a minor complaint. Pros Auctria is so easy to use and figure out. Creating and updating items and sending statements to participants with a balance was a breeze. Cons I often didn't know when to use certain tools for certain aspects of my event- I had to be told that. For example, I was told that "Donations" is used for entering paddle raises but other aspects of our live auction were captured under bidding. This was a bit of a learning curve. Also, there is some double counting in the way income is tracked in Auctria which makes budgeting and accounting challenging. I would suggest it if you're not trying to do anything crazy and looking for a way to merge in-person & online elements of a fundraising event. Pros Easy to use interface, generally simple and easy to develop the necessary details for our event. It does everything we need it to do, in a generally streamlined manner. Cons There were some weird quirks, like you can't create a statement with only the outstanding balance. There were duplicate information (values & donors would not show up in packages) and weird design choices I couldn't change (ie hiding value in one part of the website would not hide it in another). I definitely recommend getting the Launch Plus package. Our assigned Auctria team member, \[sensitive content hidden\], took care of everything from undoing mistakes to building our website. He responded quickly to emails and communicated well. We only used Auctria for the silent auction platform. It was well worth our time and money! During the silent auction, the platform worked flawlessly. Check out was a breeze! More people paid with a credit card than had ever done before! At what would be a normally crazy time, my staff and I were bored, which we loved! We will be using the Auctria platform from here on out! Pros The things we liked most about Auctria were Launch Plus, the response of our Aucria team member, the ease of the program. The best thing about using the Auctria program was how smoothly checkout went. Cons We would like to use Auctria for ticketing. We were disappointed that there was not a way to build tables and allow individuals to pick seats and purchase those specific seats. It seems like we can easily integrate into in person events as we have only used Auctria for online only auctions. Pros The user experience is excellent and the software does a great job. I like how payments are processed automatically and you give the user the choice to cover the cost of the credit card fee. Cons The software defaults to grid view. I had a hard time getting the page to open so that users could view all items. I was able to work around this and three users brought this up as part of their experience. There should be tabs where you copy a previous event and then easily copy items without having to open each item individually. We were forced to use Click-Bid last year because of the production company we used for an online event, and it was not a good experience. This year we got to choose our software again and it was such a relief to be back with Auctria. Hands down the best! Pros Everything about Auctria is very user friendly and the customer service and support is amazing!! It is super easy to enter auction items and manage all of the items and bids. Uploading photos is a breeze. The website, checkout, ticketing, bidder statements, group emails and all of the other features I use daily are very intuitive and easy to understand. Cons It would be nice if the online catalog could display multiple photos at the same time, instead of having a “slideshow” type view. It would be nice for maybe 4-5 photos to be visible at the same time when bidders click on an item. It is not obvious how to get to the additional photos if you are a bidder. April 26, 2022 5.0 Auctria has allowed us to completely change our event. It tracks everything in one place (rather than paper bid sheets), and lets people join from home (livestream) or in-person. We've also made WAY MORE money by running the auction for a full 10 days. Pros The integrated payment processing, plus the option for recording offline payments, has streamlined our event management and follow-up. It also has lots of reporting options and makes it very easy to export/import and manipulate data. Cons There are a TON of features and database fields, which is great if you train your whole team on them. We probably haven't used it to its full extent. The first year's set-up was a little time-consuming and scary. But after that you can copy it over (and we've even shared our set-up with peer organizations!). It was a very positive experience for all of us! Pros For me, as the Chairperson of the Uncorked! Fundraiser, I really appreciated the organization of all the categories. Everything about the software was thorough and comprehensive and included all the essential information on the bidders on the donation items. I loved the way the bidding was tracked and bidders were notified of their status. The Dashboard was so extremely useful for referencing important information quickly. All our board members were very enthusiastic about how wonderful the Auctria format was. In fact, at our last board meeting, they confirmed that they want to go forward with doing the same thing again with Auctria for our 2021 fundraiser~ it was such a positive experience! Cons Perhaps you could make it more clear that after a bidder wins an item, they need to go back and complete the transaction. A few of our bidders thought that since they had already submitted their credit card information, that their credit card would automatically be debited. Customer service was also very helpful and available for questions. Cons Adding a bank account was slightly glitchy, although that could have been on our end - the admins were in different time zones trying to communicate X) Reason for choosing Auctria The free trial got us in and customizing. It's easy to train volunteers how to use the program and whenever we have encountered a problem, Auctria has amazing customer service and troubleshooting. I actually just recommended them to an organization last night after using the software they had purchased. We encountered multiple problems all night and all of us were saying, "This would never happen with Auctria." Pros Auctria's functionality makes it a very efficient and user friendly software program. We run multiple auctions a month and by far Auctria is the easiest program we use. Cons I wish that on the dashboard there was a button for check in bidders so you don't have to start at bidders and then select check in bidders. Since then, we have used Auctria for half a dozen events and have been pleased with how much it offers for the cost. Auctria has helped us raise over $500,000 in the past four years. Pros For the price, Auctria is filled to the brim with functionality that would pay double or triple for. It has everything you would need to host a successful event and keep track of all of your financials and patrons at the same time. Cons Any software has limitations. Integration with an email provider such as Constant Contact or MailChimp would be great. Auctria has its fair share of bugs and quirks, but if you do your research ahead of time before your event, you can find workarounds for many issues. Customer Support is patient and quick to respond and always helpful. Pros Auctria is a very robust and comprehensive system. It has so many facets and benefits. Prior to using Auctria our annual auction was managed manually and it was chaos. Auctria has be very helpful for us and for the bidders. Requiring a credit card upfront is a life-saver. No more scrambling to process cards at check out. Cons I don't love treating everybody as a bidder. It is confusing to sponsors that their main contact has to be registered as a bidder. Often they have an accounting person who pays for the sponsorship but doesn't attend the event. I think it would be better to be able to create a sponsor record without making someone a bidder. Another area that creates confusion for us is when the system sends an email telling someone "You are the winning bidder" but they are only the winner until someone else wins. I think it would be better to say "You are currently the high bidder". (This might be something we worded incorrectly on notices.) We had some people who received that notice and didn't pay attention to later notices. It caused a bit of confusion at check out. Reason for choosing Auctria I wasn't part of the initial selection. But when it was time to renew our subscription this year I was very much in favor of staying with Auctria. This one was so good when we went back to a paper-based silent auction, the item descriptions, bid sheets, catalog, and back office capability was so good we renewed the subscription. Of note, the mobile bidding is incredible and easy to use. Pros The user tile-based interface is intuitive. The dashboard both takes you where you need to go in the program and has updating totals, clocks, and other real-time features and not just static buttons. The back office and forms section for standard and customized bid sheets, item descriptions, table management cards are amazingly easy as they scaled themselves to fit our differing page formats. The post-auction reports are clear and concise. We really needed and appreciated the Excel import feature of all info. Now, the biggest worry you'll have in DIY auction program is customer service. They are in Canada, and they reply via text box and email. Before you click off this review let me tell you Rob and the customer service gang really answer the text box. I know it says hours but they never took more than minutes to answer my many questions. In fact, last year when there was a significant issue during the event, their super quick response saved the day as it was our first year running a mobile bidding platform. In terms of that, the text-based versus app-based system was flawless. Also, uploading item pictures and contributor's logo was super easy and translated across the bid sheet, item description, website, and catalogue. Oh, and let me tell you, the push-the-button catalog function, bid sheet function, item description function was so good, when we went back to a paper bidding system it was worth every bit of the subscription fee. Cons The tabs across the top of each feature page to customize need visual improvement to be as easy to click on and have a hover function to describe what they do. I'd have them add more to the report section where there could be item sales analysis of what went above and below value and group them to see what items would be good to have next year and which ones didn't work well both at a item and category level. Lastly, there needs to be a "cart" function. Mobile bidders want to highlight the five to ten items they want to bid on during the night. A really nice improvement would be a cart where like on eBay, they don't have to go in and out of pages to re-bid, rather their items are on one screen and they can bid up those items in their cart. Reason for choosing Auctria There were so many I couldn't remember them all. Blackblaud's new product was one. They were very expensive, required their staff to come and run things, they were app-based instead of text-based, and many did not have printable forms. December 4, 2019 5.0 This is an excellent product/solution for event management. It is very easy to teach new volunteers or staff to use it, and it does everything we need for our auction event that much more expensive packages have. I often recommend this to other nonprofits. Tremendous value for the price! Pros The ease of use, user friendly. The tutorials are straightforward and support team is superb! Whenever something new is introduced (not a frequent issue, but there have been a couple of updates in the 5 years I have used it), the support team is VERY responsive. And works to get answers and help when needed. The Stripe integration is excellent, and the website set up is very, very easy for a non-web designer. Also love the history within each bidder file. Reports are great. It's fast and works VERY well in the flurry of an auction or other fundraising event. The fluidity of issuing statements (email or hard copy) has proven valuable in collecting donation pledges/receivables MUCH faster. Cons I would like to be able to label an event something other than an "Auction" and sometimes use other terminology such as "Guest" instead of "Bidder". This was the first time I used the software for a $0 ticket price event (totally paid for by sponsorships) and some of the wording on the online sign up was awkward. Will be interested in seeing if there is a better way to set that up next time. Reason for choosing Auctria Extremely competitive with all the functionality we need, and the price point is perfect. I sourced this product in a previous job, it was excellent then, and I was very excited to come back to it in my current position.
