The software allows you to very easily access reports from any of those past years and compare results. We can track how we are improving and copy over items that are donated year after year. Auctria is perfect for our company's needs. Pros Auctria is extremely organized and easy to use. It's easy to track how much your item sales are overall and to search for items from past years. Keyboard shortcuts are enabled, so you can quickly save an item you're working on (byCTRL + S) without scrolling back to the top to click save. Cons The only feature I would like to see from Auctria would be a dual-screen mode, where we could view the auctions from different years at the same time. They responded very quickly. And I sent suggestions for future product upgrades, which they always thanked me for. I can't say enough about the support from Auctria. Pros Bidding is super easy with this product. There are many options to customize. The response to email questions was fantastic -- most within an hour of sending, if not sooner than that. Cons Because there are so many options, there are a lot of decisions to make like should credit cards be required. Also, our bidders and donors are the same people, and I wish those two data tables were linked somehow. Reason for choosing Auctria Auctria had more features at a cheaper price. I helped choose it fours years ago and we've been using it ever since. We use it for selling tickets online and running our silent and live auction on event day. We have not fully utilized the mobile and online bidding capability, but perhaps we will in future. The software helps preparation, day-of-event, and after event work much easier for our team of volunteers. I highly recommend it. Pros Auctria is easy to use, so event day volunteers can be trained quickly. I also really like the useful reports. Cons When copying an old auction to use as the base for a new auction, I can't easily remember the several spots where dates need to be changed (date for when online ticket sales begin and end, date of actual auction event, any website related dates, etc...). Perhaps something could be added in the User Guide about this, so it would be easier to relearn what to do each time. Pros I liked that the customer service was quick to respond, I liked that the website portion was easy to use and create once I watched the tutorial. Cons I didn't like that the customer service reps weren't available for calls or instant messaging help. Pros Auctria launch has been a tremendous tool! It streamlines the data entry for numerous parts of auctions and Auctria's staff support is very knowledgeable quick to respond to questions. There is a lot of moving parts, and that can feel overwhelming but again, being able to quickly get support makes it successful. Cons Calculating the starting bid, increments, etc on each item. It would be amazing if there was a formula that did this for you from the value that you set with an option to override. It's really not a problem, but might be a helpful add on. There is always a learning curve to new software, but I found this one pretty easy to learn and all the volunteers picked it up pretty easy. Check-out went pretty fast and efficiently. It was our first time with using the online bidding so a few glitches is expected. My only true concern was the "system too busy", the person was very frustrated by it. Only one person complained about the issue so I am not sure if it was a user or software problem. Pros Easy to use, quick set up. Great price point. We tried to use the online bidding feature this year. The app appeared easy to use. Cons We had some problems using the app during the event. One person was getting errors that the system was too busy. I had trouble modifying the invite letter when I needed attendees to sign up. We have a quite varied donor type and item type and the software is quite useful for all. Cons I was unable to make a fancy looking gift certificate. I couldn't find out how to include the name of our auction in the gift certificate without "cramming" it into the item description for purposes of the certificate and then backing it out for printing the bid sheet. There is probably a better way but I could not find it. Also, when inputting the donor name about half the time it jumped to the top of the page, and I had to scroll back to the donor part, and after that could put in the solicited...irritating and time consuming. Unlike previously, we typically collect over 80% of the balances due before people leave. Pros This software streamlines every aspect of our annual services auction, from soliciting donations to catalog preparation to check in, bidding, and reporting. We typically get audited receipts to attendees before they leave the event. Easy to use--I generally train most of the support the night of the event. Cons Can't think of anything we didn't like. September 29, 2020 5.0 Overall we use this product for 4 events ranging from $10,000- $100,000 in profit and it is flawless for the most part. I would HIGHLY recommend this program for your events and fundraisers. Pros I love the user friendly feel of this program and the way you can run an online auction or physical one with ease. You can create a website through Auctria for your event which allows you to sell tickets and/or display your auction items. I like how easy it is to enter auction items and add new bidders. We use this program 4x per year and we have to train multiple people in it and they all say how easy it is to use! Cons You do have to pay for the different levels, so it depends on how much profit your event makes. They have changed the website creating tool but I don't find it all that user friendly. I would appreciate to be able to click on the actual title in order to change the font or colour easily, but instead you have to navigate through some complicated steps to try and change it. September 23, 2019 5.0 Prior to using Auctria, we had a very cumbersome process for checking out our bidders, including long, slow-moving lines. Our ticketing process was also very labor intensive. Now we don't have tickets and the guests at our event find their bidder number on their table. Pros We have an annual fundraiser that is staffed by volunteers. Auctria is extremely easy to use and to orient new users to. I love that it is web based and that bids recorded in the event room are available at check-out within minutes. I love that we can upload our auction items from Excel and can do a mail merge for printing bidder numbers. Cons Entering table sponsors is a little clunky. June 16, 2016 5.0 Volunteer Event Chair for the Market & Auction event for Variety in BC, Canada. We raise funds for special needs kids in BC, ranging from therapy to medication to wheelchairs and converted vans. We step in where Health Care ends to help families cope with the financial burdens of needed support for the child. When I took over as Chair of this event 4 years ago the auction item bid sheets were...and I kid you not....handled in a single Word document. 200 pages long. 1 item per page. And that was just for starters! Each item was in a separate Word doc, from display sheets to receipts to certificates. I had made a switch to a set of Excel documents with formulas and master sheets which was substantially better, but still time consuming. Much more accurate, but time consuming. Then by some miracle I found CAO while looking for something else. The more I explored what it could do the more excited I got, and by the time I met with my partner to tell her about it I was almost bouncing off the walls in joy! The following meeting with my committee I went over the basics of the program, and every time someone brought up a concern or question I was able to answer it with "Oh don't worry, CAO does that.....right here...let me show you..." Pros Add to that the fact that your support team responds quickly and with wonderful detail, and that you have priced it so charities can actually afford it? You better believe I will continue telling EVERYONE about how amazing your service is! It was great to create the initial set up and have auction items automatically update as entered on the backend of the system. The end result was a clean, professional looking site far superior to other auction platforms we have used, and the aesthetic appeal and ease of use increased out overall revenue by 75% compared to previous years using other software. The resources section was helpful as well. Cons My only complaint is that there doesn't appear to be a function to create scheduled communications to event participants. While I was able to create emails ahead of time, I had to log in at the send time to manually take that step instead of setting up a series ahead of time. Pros Its flexibility and ease of use once set up- the customer support was amazing - they are on the spot to answer questions quickly Cons having to use STRIPE was very expensive and the STRIPE reports are terrible. Makes transferring info to financial database difficult since STRIPE doesnt include auction information on what guest if paying for. We received clear answers to our technical challenges very quickly. Sometimes we had an answer in minutes, but we never waited more than 24 hours. Pros The software is well integrated and has almost no glitches. The user's guide and instructional videos are very clear, well indexed, and the wiki format made it relatively easy to learn about the software and resolve set-up issues. The software's visual presentation is very attractive. Our auction close-out took an hour. Cons I am not a graphic designer and have never used graphic design packages, so I found the webpage design features to be challenging. Our final webpage design was extremely simple because I couldn't figure out how to add fonts or background colors. Reason for choosing Auctria We are a small non-profit--an adult choir--and evaluated 4 auction software packages, using the Capterra comparison features. I chose Auctria because its features were well aligned with our needs, the user guide was clear, the introductory on-line live seminar by Auctria staff and mock auction were clear, and the overall appearance of the package is very attractive. Remarkably, Auctria was the least expensive package we considered AND the most user friendly. Pros This software is extremely easy to get set up because of the the intuitive user interface. It helps the user understand how to set up the event details, payments, and then add items to auction. Cons The bidding interface for end users is lacking. While the set-up is simple and intuitive the front end is lacking it main downfall is the inability to white-lable this means you cannot control the branding or complete url on the bidding page. The organization sets all header and footer links. In addition it is quite easy to brand with: colors, fonts, images, logo, hero image, video, headers, text, buttons. Also, the website menu can be edited, add or delete pages as well as add custom pages; here too you can change colors, fonts to further customized.
