Pros: The documentation that can happen and the tracking of all the policies.

Cons: When the policy renews and you have previously updated the first named insured it populates back to what the account says rather than what you put in that specific policy. For instance, we have companies that have dba's for some states, but not for others. If we use one dba in one policy it doesn't automatically keep it on the policy. This can affect us when we do certificates or other form letters.

Overall: We are surety bond producers so while the software is made for insurance we tweak things a little bit here and there to work for our surety bond processes. It works really well for us and it has great features to document what we've done for a given client or on a given policy. I would recommend using it to others as it has some great functionality. The only thing that can get a little tricky at times (at least for what I do) is some of the reports. It often time includes excess information (that may be more useful for insurance) or we can't quite get the right information we want on it. But I don't think that necessarily takes away from the use of the product.

Pros: Preview Pane in the policies view. I have mine set to show activities which is very helpful and much less time consuming than wading thru the activity screen.

Cons: Many features having to do with searching are not user friendly or intuitive. We should be able to search activities - in the view options - by keywords in the description field. Right now, I have to search Outlook and find an email with the information and then go to that date in activity to find what I'm looking for. This also means I can't delete emails from Outlook because I'm using them as a search tool for activity in AMS. Very annoying and time consuming.

Overall: You get used to it because you have to use it every day. I have found ways around the clunky interface which makes it more tolerable but MUCH improvement can be made. We've used it for at least 7 years.

Pros: AMS360 has a fairly straight forward setup on logon it prompts to install the client to allow more functionality and integration with outlook. Has a straight forward web interface that most users understand and get what they need.

Cons: When you logon to AMS360 it can take up to 5 minutes to load all of your dll files that it needs to process basic functions, this is after you have already installed the client. If you don't wait the five minutes then you can get errors loading forms. I was actually told by one of their support team members to wait 5 minutes. Another issue I have is that if I have an issue they immediately jump to resetting my ams services folder which contains my database cache and dlls. so next time i have to logon it is another 5 minutes, longer depending on network. Customer support is there, but can sometimes take months to get the right people involved to get a resolution.

Pros: Accounting functionality and tracking, reporting, activity logging, ability to post suspense items and reminders tp others in the company.

Cons: Very limited integration options with other software companies, expensive, very slow at times, behind the times as it relates to ease of use and functionality, lack of important updates, lacks sales and marketing uses.

Overall: As our agency management software, we benefit from keeping excellent files on all of our customers. We are able to service and perform accounting on all of our policies.

We have used AMS 360 since 2013.

Pros: It is very easy to use. It is very easy for new employees to learn to use. It is easy to get to the areas you need to service clients.

Cons: I am not a fan of My Agency Reports. I loved Vertafore Reporting, but the new reporting system is very cumbersome. I liked being able to tell it what I wanted, rather than getting everything and having to narrow it down. I just use Classic Reports now.

Overall: We are able to be more efficient which leads to higher profitability.

Pros: I love that activity tracking is real time to all users. It helps to know all the information about a customer immediately since we have multiple people answering the phone.

Cons: The reports. I feel like there may be everything I need in them, but figuring out which one to run is not intuitive.

Overall: AMS 360 connects our entire office even though we don't always work in the same room.

The training is horrible/non existent; the program itself is not user friendly in any way.

Pros: I do like that we can do receipts and invoices out of this software. I do like the fact that we can search for customers a couple of different ways and that it will hold multiple contacts and contact information instead of just the one main person and phone number. That would be about the end of the pros. I am not a fan of this system, the help, the training, almost nothing having to do with this software.

Cons: This is the slowest program/software I have EVER come across. Where it used to take me five minutes to do a renewal and ten to do a new application (commercial policies), it now takes me 30 to renew a policy and an hour to fill in the app and send it out for a quote on a new commercial policy. The certificates of insurance are almost impossible to figure out. You have to go in only one certain order to fill them in or it won't work at all. I was told that it would hold all certificate holders to use in the future, but after months of me and two other people trying to figure it out, we have no idea how to save a certificate holder. The activities that I set (along with the sticky notes) can just be deleted like they never happened. If I set someone an activity to (for example) requote someone, they can delete that activity and say they never got it. AMS does not leave a trail anywhere saying that there was an activity but that it was closed. There isn't much good that I can say about this system at all, but the worst is the speed of it and the training/help is nonexistent.

Overall: None at all except the ability to search for clients in more than one way. I really cannot think of ANYTHING worthy of this software and would NEVER recommend a company changing over to it.

Pros: I really like how user friendly the software is. It is easy to attach information as an "activity" in that you can place all correspondence that's relative to that particular subject into one activity that all other users of the system can see.

Cons: At times you can mistakenly have too many windows open based on what you click on in the system. This can cause you to put something in the wrong client file.

Product does only enough for needs, it does not satisfy growth or what people are wanting out of it.

Pros: It keeps the accounting, policy information, and billing information all in one program and it does good at most of its functions.

Cons: Zero to no customer service, auto-ID cards are not set up correctly so they don't print like clients would like.

Pros: The ability to open more than one tabs and search other customers while not losing the customer I am on.

Cons: I don't like not being able to text out of it, whenever we do any other activity it documents it but for texting we have to use another carrier

Overall: Everything we do with our customers is documented and we are able to set reminders for ourselves to follow up on anything and other users can see what we are doing/ have done

Pros: Great way to compile and track customer and prospect info.

Cons: A lot of information that can be stored so searches sometimes are difficult if you don't set the right parameters.

Pros: I like how easy it is to look up a client and all of the abilities I can do when I find them. I like being able to make ID cards for the insured with the software and COI's.

Cons: There isn't really anything that I do not like about the software. It's a great program that I think a lot of people should use.

For medium sized agencies, the system works great with a lot of functionality to it.

Pros: The different templates and functions for creating a historical workflow for each client is great. The numerous built in forms and templates for both personal and commercial lines makes it easier to complete a task.

Cons: Some of the functions aren't as obvious on how it ties into other functions in the client account .

Overall: When at a medium agency it helped me be more service effective for my clients.

Pros: AMS360 was a simple solution to implement. We had it up and running in about 3-5 days, but then came the time to upload all our client info......

Cons: AMS360 does not play well with with others. By "others" I mean the multiple companies independent agencies represent. Customer info rarely downloaded as it was supposed if it uploaded at all. The API connections are the worst.

Pros: It does nothing easy, it makes you key in stuff multiple times and maybe it will decide to pass it over to your form. I am so frustrated with this garbage. My agency went with this against my advice and now we all are going bald pulling our hair out. I consider my computer skills to be highly advanced.

Cons: Worst program ever. I feel like I'm in 1980 and using DOS. This program is pure garbage. You can never locate the correct field to enter data to create forms. The Acord form calls a field one thing and AMS decided that they should call it something completely different so that you can't find it. They would prefer you waste your day fumbling with this.

Overall: Nothing, this program wastes my entire day trying to create a stupid form. I just started using Adobe PDF editor to simply write over the EPI. Stupid garbage AMS360 is.

Pros: Easier to print applications and certificates. Suspenses and activities are easier to handle. Policies are easier to deal with.

Cons: Not being able to pull up multiple customers, attaching documents take longer. Policy info is not in one place, have to have multiple windows open. Runs slow.

Comments: Warning - Vertafore will delete functions of AMS without any warning and certainly no foresight. We've been using AMS for 10 years and it's clear that they have no one on their development team with any insurance knowledge. This last change has forced our hand to switch.

Despite it's many shortfalls, we were actually content with AMS360 until the team a Vertafore decided to make an update change that, in short, took away the ability for our clients to generate their own certificates online in their 24/7 program. As a commercial agency that generates thousands of certificates a year, this change has crippled us. We now have to issue each certificate in house individually. Vertafore has been completely unresponsive in answering whether or not they will actually fix this. Our sales rep won't answer our phone calls or emails.

Comments: The online ("cloud") version is very, very slow. We use three monitors because the response time is so slow that, without other work to do while waiting for AMS360 screens to fill with data, we wouldn't get much done. We had been running AMS for Windows (AfW) v. 5.4 for years on an in-house server and were persuaded after hurricane Sandy to migrate to the hosted cloud version. Big mistake.

The programing, screen layout and overall functionality are a big step backwards, too. Several ACORD certificate fields simply don't pull data from the system and you have to fill in fields manually. Many functions from our in-house version simply don't work and when we complained that AMS360 provided less functionality than the system we already owned, we were told to put in a suggestion to have improvements made!

Pros: Most that I know who need software for their agency end up going with AMS360. It is extremely robust, and handles everything you throw at it. It has extensive integrations as well.

Cons: Cost is extremely high overall. Those I know that don't end up with AMS360 say it is due to the cost, and I can't blame them - it's not cheap! But it is an excellent product.

Comments: Very little help for question that were more detailed than the average question. The on line classes were time limited and instructors did not have time to answer if it wasn't a simple question. No structure in training for the accounting. The project manager was a jerk when contacted with concerns and he doesn't use this program nor work with insurance. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Comments: This program is terrible for accountants. After 25 years experience, it's the worst one I've ever worked with. If super expensive and very slow is what you need then, this AMS360 is for you. Any software that needs this much training, with strange terms to learn and weird clicks everywhere, should be throw away, or put back into 1980.
