Overall, our service and support has been outstanding with Phorest. For someone who is not tech savvy having the ability to quickly jump on a call and navigate the site with a Phorest employee has been very helpful.

Pros

We are a salon company with 5 locations and navigating Phorest can sometimes be overwhelming, the ability to receive personalize support in a timely manner is a game changer.

Cons

When looking back at our old booking system, we did have the ability to see retail history with guests differently for our Service Providers.

Great! I like that it’s seamless and the reports are great. It’s very easy to use and customizable. Love!

Pros

I love the customer service and the fact that I can get in touch with someone and they get back to me right away if they don’t know something.

Cons

The price is higher than all other platforms similar, I feel like if I have two locations we should be able to split sms msgs between both locations, I’m paying for them already and if I don’t use all in one location I should have ability to use at other location.

Overall fair, has improved over the last year, but I’m getting frustrated with the lack of bug fixes for waitlist and package updates.

Features are bugged and take forever to get fixed. Feature will be launched with known issues with no timeline of resolution.

It's a good product, that makes my job a lot easier. I love the text reminder features as they are very helpful for ensuring my clients arrive when they're scheduled.

Pros

The ease of use, keeping track of clients history, notes, the chat feature in the desktop version, and the quick response from support if I need help with anything. I also like if I add products to my clients tab then exit out of it - it will remember the product.

Cons

The price point could be more competitive comparably to other brands. When there are bugs in the system sometimes takes awhile to get it fixed. My client do sometimes get confused by the dates on the reminders - it would be nice if it was changed to Jan/Feb/March instead of numbers as I book appointments 6 months in advance so sometimes the dates get mixed up.

Pros

I love all the functions and how many things the system provides for even just the intro package. There are so many functions that we still don’t even utilize, but it’s great knowing they are there!

I wish there was a phone number that I could call and get someone immediately when I have a question about the system

I don’t like that the save card on file is hard to see when checking out. Saving the card is on as the default, should be something you have to click on to save.

I have had Phorest for many years and have been very very happy with the program and the customer service!

Pros

Program is extremely reliable and absolutely love the support is available when you need it. Force is very easy to learn to use. I really like the fact that you can print out people schedules so you always do not have to go back to the computer to see what is going on.

Cons

I cannot really think of a con. It is a monthly cost however, the value for the program is definitely worth it in my opinion.

Pros

It’s easy to use and a pretty good value for what you’re getting. Customer support has been great. Online booking and the online store is good.

Cons

The waiting list and the online store could be more robust. I’d like to run sales on specific items or specific brands. Basically, running sales online for products feels clunky.

When clicking through a page you cannot go back to where you left off, it takes you back to the beginning. For example, staff rosters, editing services, and every other page. Very frustrating. Also, would like to customize our online store.

Our experience so far has been quite amazing. The staff has been more than helpful. We have recommended this product to more than one salon. It is so easy to teach any new staff to use because of how user friendly it is.

Pros

I love the community, they are more than helpful and handle all issues in a timely manner. It makes it super easy to ask the chat on our desktop to get to ant shortcut answers. Anytime there is technical issues they are able to address them immediately. The scheduling features make it easy for our front of house to properly book our staff according to their proper availability.

Cons

There hasn't been anything in particular that has had us dislike phorest. Only thing is the Phorest tips, we are interested but the staff is used to having their tips deposited immediately and with Phorest tips we will have to wait till the next day.

On boarding was easy and every step along the way was supported with a personal consultant. We even had to separate from a second location and that was completed on time and with ease.

Pros

The versatility of the software and the use of campaigns, and marketing tools reach a wide variety. the software is easy to use and you can always find what you are looking for. The support is also always helpful. New Staff can also take part in the videos helping to alleviate some of the onboarding.

Cons

Waitlist. It is the only thing that needs improvement, but please don't take the lead from Milano.

Mostly positive. We are not currently using all that we pay for, but are working toward using the features included in our plan. It feels like a lot to implement but that's a good problem to have. I know once we are using it all properly, it will help us care for our customers and grow our numbers.

Pros

Working with \[sensitive content hidden\], my Salon Success Manager! She helps me navigate the software with confidence. It has a lot of capabilities and that can feel overwhelming at times! Working with her helps me understand the features and move forward with a better understanding so I can properly train my team.

Cons

I don't like that I cannot do more than one Cashup in a day.

I absolutely love it. It checks all of my boxes, and then some. They're constantly improving, taking into consideration customer feedback, and generally speaking - they actually seem like genuine humans.

Pros

I love that everything is customizable. Need a report? They got you. Integration for an online store? Done. How can I save time, and promote our great reviews on facebook? Ummm Phorest can do that for you.

Cons

I wish it would double as a payroll system

### "Unprofessional Company with hidden charges and poor data management"

I have had this software for over 5 years and they are only interested in how they can make more money out of their clients. They charge inflated prices for simple things and hide the charges so you aren't aware of them. They introduce new features which sound great but in reality don't work and then charge you a higher subscription for their software for the new features when don't work. For example they introduced a feature called client reconnect which is supposed to text clients when they are overdue their appointment but it just doesn't work, yet they charge an extra £40/month for it. Also if you have multiple sites, none of their reports or stock inventory work across multiple locations so you have to go into each location to run reports or get stock information which is very time consuming. It also doesn't link into any other software or marketing software so you have to do work arounds and manual exports if you want to use your client data in facebook or email marketing. The email and text marketing within Phorest is expensive and poor quality compared to industry specific software so another downside to Phorest. There are many much superior softwares available that are cheaper, easier to run and integrate easier into other business softwares. Having stuck with Phorest for over 5 years now I wish I had made a move to better software years ago.

Pros

The appointment diary is simple and visual but basic. There is an online reputation manager which helps you manage your online reviews but now I have seen what other systems can do I think it is basic and its only available when you are on their most expensive package.

Cons

The company has hidden charges which they deduct at source so you can't see them or audit them. They consistently over charge and apply higher charges to bills than your original contract and insist on payment by direct debit so its not easy to detect them. They manipulate your data without knowledge or consent, for example they opted many of my clients out of being able to receive marketing information without my knowledge, I only discovered by accident and it turned out to have been an issue in their software which they denied to begin with but then had to admit it was their fault. I have no idea if they corrected the fault just with my account or whether other customers who have been affected but are still in the dark. A few years ago they made a major to how their online booking system worked, but didn't inform any of their clients so all our online bookings on our website went down and again it took a few weeks for them to admit the mistake was theirs, but it still cost me thousands with my website developer to re-design my website to overcome their change which is incredibly poor change management and poor knowledge of their customers and how they use the software.

I made the switch to Phorest after a competitive tendering system, where Phorest made various written representations about the features, benefits and pricing so came out top on the tender requirements, however when the software was installed, it came out that many of the features that they had confirmed the software did were 'in development' and some of them had still not been launched over 5 years later...

I think it makes all the staff more conscious of the revenue they are bringing in and how close they are to meeting their goals.

Pros

The ability to manage my schedule from my phone, and to check reports from my phone. I also like the ability to check my service/retail sales etc from my phone in real time.

Cons

Sometimes when using a laptop or desktop computer, it takes a long time before the reports open, or before I can see the client reviews. Also the waiting list feature should not be specific to a certain date or time.

My team at the front desk finds it very easy to use, and as I mentioned above my Favorite thing about the software is the customer support.

Pros

Have been in the Salon business for a long time, and believe this is our fourth software. This software will be our last, as it meets all our needs. What I like most about Phorest is the customer support.

Cons

When trying to find a way to do things, sometimes you have to put in the exact words, and sometimes what I’m thinking, doesn’t match those words. However, I call customer service and they handle everything for me.

Its a great experience i love all the features and customer service provided. Anytime i have a question about a feature or if I can't figure something out I can send a quick email and get fast responses from their team.

Pros

I love the customer service. If I ever have questions I get responses immediately. I feel like the value of what I pay is there. There are always new updates and features that benefit my business. The email marketing built in helps us get so many bookings from repeat customers. I also love the variety of reports available.

Cons

I don't have much dislikes currently. I think it would be cool to have employees able to clock in and out on the app. Other than that I'm not sure that i can think of anything off the top of my head.

I like the new update where the tips go Straight to the hair dressers bank account. This makes things a lot easier!

Cons

The least I like is I can’t scroll through all my clients on the app like I can on a computer. It’s not a big deal but sometimes I need to scroll through if I forgot someone’s name

We have a newer version of Phorest on the web which is MUCH faster and I’ve no doubt you’ll love it.
