Pros It opens a window for new customers that have this software technology, it provides a seamlessly way to process Sales Orders, Invoices and ASNs, in accurate manner. It is able to translate and adapt to your system. Cons If you choose a VAN, at least the way we are setup it need to be done through folder process which are stop from time to time and need to be monitored. Due to the older age of our system we have been able to continue receiving automated service vs needing to go to a webform. Cons At this point I don't really have higher expectations at the moment as our older system clearly limits the automation available to us. Response from Vendor May 18, 2017 Hi Wendy It is correct that the upfront cost for implementing EDI software is higher when compared to hosted EDI. But after the initial setup, the ongoing cost of software may actually be lower or very similar to hosted. It will depend on the number of EDI documents that you process per month. I will like you to know that 123 EDI also offers hosted EDI, but in this case and because of your Sage legacy ERP, the hosted option won't be an option unless is used without integration. But your existing investment in EDI software could be also leverage with any of our many interfaces into the major ERP systems in the marketplace.
