As a outsourced coder, I work in many home care software systems every week. Axxess is the most user friendly system I have encountered. The fact that it is web-based is very convenient. I am able to log in and perform reviews and coding activities from any computer and don't have to lug around another laptop just to be able to access the agencies patient charts! It is very simple to maneuver within the program and being able to keep several tabs opened at the bottom of the screen is very helpful when completing chart reviews. All of the folks that I have encountered at Axxess have been very professional and are committed to excellent customer service.

When the system is working properly it is very easy to use.

Cons

Whenever there is an issue with the program, I notify the Reps ans they notify the department that handles the issues and there is no communication from the front of the house to the back of the house. There is very little follow up once the ticket is placed with the back of the house.

Axxess is a user friendly, nurse friendly software that has an intuitive approach to home health software needs. The software can be learned in a very short time and our nurses learned how to use it proficiently within the first couple of weeks. The support has been outstanding, with quick responses and answers to our staff's questions. Billing is truly automated, including a complimentary account to Zirmed to submit all of our HMO claims electronically. We have been truly impressed with Axxess and would be ready to recommend it to any other home health agency that is looking for a software to meet their needs at a very cost effective price.

Any issues that are not solved at help desk or first level , then it never gets done. So far experience ...called in with few issues and no response

Scheduling on this software is made easy use and the ability to create, change, and reassign can be handled quickly and accurately.

Reports can be hard to use and hard to read at times with information that isn't really needed and information that is needed left out.

Pros

Meritcare has been with with Axxess for two years now, and it's been a great experience. The software is complete, comprehensive, and easy to use. Axxess has very responsive customer service. Maybe what I like the most is how I've seen the software improve over the two years we have been using it. It is definitely a better product than when we signed up.

Maybe they can do a better job of letting us know in advance of the new features and updates to the system.

It has the potential to drastically improve documentation and compliance with regulations. Clinician input on the format is instantly obvious in the presentation. The persons involved have certainly "been in the trenches" and know where the scheduling and documentation pitfalls are. Data is easy to input and locate. Schedules, recertification dates, and so forth will be so easy to track.

Cons

Have not found anything yet--just started using and it is going smoothly.

I like the simplicity. It's easy to use and train people. Also, the customer support and free trainings are great.

Cons

Axxess is no longer reliable. We are seriously thinking of moving to another system because of the performance issues we are having. It lacks system validation to ensure that nursing progress notes follow the plan of care. It also lacks system validation to ensure that Oasis (SOC, recertification, transfer) sync and minimize discrepancies.
