Pros: There are glimmers of hope with this software - but it falls short of following through to meet the needs of interfacing through to be meaningful to the end users on the hospital and lab side of things, and then back to ambulatory - it must come full circle and it does not.

Cons: Needs technology boost - needs far greater functionality, ease of use, less mouse clicks, windows to visit, less drop down lists - make it as easy to use for each step along the way as possible please - not hunt and peck but auto fill and intuitive and proactive please

Comments: I overall could deal with the program and its quirks. It is a decent program. But there are probably better ones on the market.

Pros: Was great for the mental health side. Had comprehensive assessments, releases and forms could be built into the system to look how you wanted them. Customer service was fast if ever there was a problem the superusers.

Cons: But the version of the program we had was so old that it did not work for all of the department. Would have preferred something that was behavioral health overall so that substance abuse could be included.

Pros: The providers enjoy being able to access everything within the application itself. They do not have to jump around to find what they need. If they have multiple locations, still lets them access patients from other areas.

Cons: The application can be difficult to learn on the back end. The end user could notice possible maintenance issues due to this.

Overall: Providers have easy access to their info

Comments: Cerner needs to spend money and update their system

Pros: There is a patient monitor which allows in line sorting and prioritize column placement per user with right click funtionality

Cons: There is absolutely no custom reporting and the canned reports are not sufficient. All forms have to be printed on expensive forms instead of rendering in lines forms printable to pdf

Pros: I AM A QUICK LEARNER BUT THIS PROGRAM WAS SHOWN ONCE TO ME AND ITS ALL IT TOOK. EASY PROGRAM. IF CRASHES HAPPEN THE COMPANY WORKS ON IT QUICKLY TO GET YOU UP AND RUNNING AGAIN.

Cons: THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT HAVE A HANDY TOGGLING TOOL. YOU LOSE INFORMATION IF YOU SWITCH WINDOWS WHICH CAN BE A NEGATIVE.

Pros: I was told it helps with billing and attendance reports, so I assume it's the main reason somebody buys it. For the rest of the staff is an ongoing disaster.

Cons: Poor features, no intuitive and takes many steps to do basic chores.

Overall: I wrote a review before. Just after trying many times I was told by the IT staff that this software requires you to write controlled substances every time as a new prescription, something that is a basic feature of all programs I use in other places. It's a waste of time, more so when you're busy with patients. It's another reason why I think this program is poor value for your money. That and the fact the support is always lacking and taking forever to fix problems. Just in this last month, the system has broken down an average twice a week. Often we're unable to write prescriptions or write progress notes for many hours while patients are coming to the clinic. I see the IT staff in the clinic trying to resolve the problems but usually takes them often hours or even a day to fix the problem, only to have a different one next week.

Pros: The look - Cerner PM looks very up to date and is fairly easy to navigate around in. The schedule is easy to read.

Cons: I find the charges/payments to be a somewhat confusing screen. Overall no big complaints with EPM. It is easy to catch on to.

Overall: Easy to use

Cerner has simplified the patient admin process, however the program frequently freezes.

Pros: Centralized location for patient documents, it is easy to use, able to see multiple schedules at once.

Cons: The program will frequently freeze if I'm clicking through icons quickly and it causes the entire system to have to reboot.

It has been really helpful to have this program in my practice.
