### "The Good and the Bad"

July 24, 2024

4.0

A love/hate relationship. Easy to use once you get going, but it seems there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get the desired results.

Pros

The ability to create folders for the different issues. The ability to easily produce a production set through Nextpoint to opposing counsel. Easy to upload and download documents. That it generates exhibit lists.

Cons

That there is a litigation side and a discovery side and that they do not easily link or segue. That there are so many more steps to do something than most other databases. That you can't tag something and have the next document automatically tag/repeat the same tags, so have to code/tag each subsequent page/document separately. That searches bring back documents without the search terms. That you cannot just mark redactions and export them that way for attorney final review. That you cannot create issues on the fly. That there seems to be a lot of work arounds to get same results with most other databases. Not all columns of data can be sorted. When you adjust your document review columns, they don't stay adjusted. That exported PDFs, while searchable, do not highlight the search term(s) on the page and so you have to review the entire page. That the main dashboard that lists all the Matters is not searchable. That you have to create a project, then a discovery, then a litigation instead of just creating a project and uploading.

Reason for choosing Nextpoint

The committee didn't include end user paralegals. The features and needs were not assessed with paralegal input.

### "Exceptional Support with Nextpoint"

August 1, 2024

5.0

Unexpectedly pleasant, confidence building, aned educational.

Pros

Nextpoint's most attractive quality is not its numerous industry-leading features; it's the first-class, personalized support provided by its competent and kind team. For small firms like ours, feeling valued by your software partner is just as important as the software fulfilling its purpose. The Nextpoint team consistently offers creative solutions for all the extreme edge cases we've encountered. We have never been left without a path forward on complex issues that fall outside the scope of standard eDiscovery software. If you value a white-glove, humanized experience, Nextpoint is undoubtedly the best option in the market.

Cons

Pricing for near duplication searches can be vastly improved.

### "Essential tool for any Law Firm"

July 19, 2024

5.0

My cases average in excess of 50,000 documents with some reaching 1 million (with over 1 TB held by Nextpoint for the past 4 years and all we pay is a per user fee each month.) Nextpoint has allowed us to review productions fast and efficiently creating production logs and privilege logs directly within the system as part of the export. This alone has saved us from requesting extensions of time and keeping our cases within the original trial deadlines helping our clients reach resolutions much faster. I cannot imagine not using nextpoint.

Pros

In the paperless office environment we all live in it is essential that discovery not be priced per storage needs. Nextpoint's per user fee billing saves our clients money and helps us budget our discovery costs regardless of the size of the case.

Cons

Exchanging documents with other lawfirms under an ESI agreement can be cumbersome as each platform determines the standard production an this has been a problem in some of our cases. The industry needs to agree on a single standard to avoid this or build in export templates for the largest services. With that said the Support staff is always there to help.

### "User Friendly ~ Excellent Customer Service"

July 12, 2024

5.0

The representatives at Nextpoint are top notch! They care about your success and the setup of your company. I've spent a decent amount of time in the program, but still consider myself a newbie to the eDiscovery software and all it has to offer. The more you utilize it, the easier it becomes and the more you learn. In addition, the associates learned Nextpoint in no time and all provided positive feedback on the ease of access and tagging documents. Nextpoint is a software that bridges the gap between someone new to eDiscovery, an advanced user or someone in between.

Pros

First and foremost the format of training and ease of access for "how to" thereafter. The material to train is provided through short mini videos and accompanying articles broken down by category. This allows each person to go at their own pace. On our firm's last eDiscovery program the representative flew to our office and taught it in person. I was lost 2 hours into training. The next 3 days were a blur and I learned nothing. At all times Nextpoint provides access to their video/written guides (I've used this too many times to count!). They are precise and easy to find. Features to date that are beneficial are the analytics page for projects, OCR'd documents upon import, ability to search and create review folders based on that search, adding outside reviewers and reports on exports. Moving to a cloud-based system has been very beneficial for us as a firm. It can take longer for upload/downloading, but that's to be expected. It's more accessible for us and clients.

Cons

\-Documents export on a production in random order. It's a routine issue with opposing counsel (understandably) and one we have no control over. Nextpoint allows documents to be exported chronologically. Chronological is good, but only with the company or category by which it's associated (i.e., bank, medical, email, etc.). -There are no plans for HEIC files to be supported, so a document image is created. -Redactions are done on a page by page basis. Bulk redaction is a paid for service. Redaction features, in its full capacity, should be part of a user's plan.

Reason for choosing Nextpoint

Price per user instead of price per GB.

### "Game Changer"

July 10, 2024

4.0

Pros

Working in an industry with a high volume of data, I needed a tool to both manage costs and the user experience. Nextpoint gave me both with flat monthly fee for unlimited data and unlimited cases. The system is very easy to use from importing to processing to reviewing. I've trained attorneys remotely to access cases I manage in about fifteen minutes.

Cons

I definitely love this system, but there are some things that can be improved. My main wish list item is a means of monitoring processing. For example, when a batch is Bates-labeling, I'd like to be able to know it is "75% complete". As I understand, improvements on this feature are in the works.

It has been a lifesaver on large projects. We can produce large amounts of discovery quickly and search through discovery received efficiently.

### "Nextpoint makes it easy to review documents"

August 22, 2024

5.0

Overall, easy to use and quick. I've been able to set up the categories of documents I want, and the various levels of designation quickly. The program is straightforward and doesn't take a lot of time to learn.

Pros

The layout makes it easy to search for and review documents. Actually reviewing a document and searching through it is also easy and quick.

Cons

Batch reviewing/marking documents was a bit difficult. Also, the process to print out a pdf of a designated document was a bit difficult.

### "A terrific rediscovery solution"

July 10, 2024

5.0

We've been pleased with Nextpoint overall. The "all you can use" pricing model means we're free to use the software for all of our cases without fear of sticker shock when clients receive the bill.

Pros

The software is relatively user-friendly, and the online help features are particularly helpful. We've also enjoyed our interactions with Nextpoint staff, who are uniformly responsive, friendly, and helpful.

Cons

Most of our concerns about the software have been addressed in updates over the years we've been using the platform. That said, we acknowledge Nextpoint isn't as powerful as some of the top-tier ediscovery platforms. But it's not priced like those platforms either, so the trade-off is a fair one.

### "Overall good program"

July 17, 2024

5.0

Pros

Easy to import documents and review them. The process of exporting is kind of confusing but that might be user error or lack of knowledge on my part. I find the tagging system very helpful.

Cons

Our team uses the highlighting function to identify proposed redactions and it is time consuming to switch each individual highlighted section to a redaction one by one. The page takes a long time to process each change.

### "Processing Big Data Made Easier"

October 1, 2019

4.0

We have experienced wonderful customer service with NextPoint, and are constantly in touch with our representative (or she frequently checks in with us to hear how things are going). The service and support is much different from our previous product, where it was very difficult to speak with our representative or receive help as needed. Our team has been glad to grow with NextPoint, even though many other ESI providers often contact us.

Pros

We like that we have the ability to load, organize, and sort large amounts of data. This is our second ESI software to work with, and it is much more robust in its capabilities with managing data. It has the ability for trial presentation which essentially combines two products into one, and saves our smaller, boutique firm from needing to purchase multiple types of software for various legal tasks.

Cons

The ability to process some Auto Cad files without customer support. As we mainly handle construction law matters, we work with multiple AutoCad files. We need the ability to process them independently and efficiently.

### "Beats law firm stalwarts hands down"

March 23, 2021

5.0

Overall Nextpoint is just as capable, if not more capable, as Relativity. Having spent many years setting up, running, and working with reviews using Relativity, Nextpoint is far easier to use and manage. It's search functionality is also excellent, one of the most important features in review software. On top of all of that, it is orders of magnitude more affordable than Relativity.

Pros

Nextpoint's software was very easy to set up for our team of lawyers across three law firms and three sets of experts and their teams. Everyone is able to quickly search and find specific documents across the millions of documents and gigabytes of data that we've uploaded into the review platform. Loading the voluminous and frequent productions from biglaw firms coming from two related and active along with from earlier related litigations has been simple and quick.

Cons

There has been a learning curve from my past familiarity with Relativity but Nextpoint's support is excellent. Whenever I have questions they are quick to respond and very thorough in helping me.

### "Next Point"

March 18, 2021

3.0

It's been good though frustrating at times.

Pros

It's fast. The process is usually very quick which is a huge bonus for us. The main database we use has about half a million documents, even more pages, and the database can give us results quickly. In addition, there are filter features allowing us to presort information that can be quite helpful for abbreviating searches.

Cons

It's not necessarily accurate. We rely on coding in particular to find out whether a document is relevent or not. OCR isn't nearly as useful given the documents we have are historical and some hand written. The OCR confuses words and phrases sometimes. Also, I don't like the Boolean searches. There are times when the word 'and' or an ampersand is in the name of a company and there is no good way to add that to Boolean searches making them worthless.

### "NextPoint Review (by 3+years user)"

February 4, 2023

5.0

NextPoint really helped me to get a foundational understanding of coding, tagging, foldering, and how to interpret the images based on the load file. It's really hands-on, which is a huge plus. I really like the periodic webinar that was can sit and continue to learn.

Pros

Very user-friendly. I was completely new to this whole e-discovery just a few years back, and Relativity and Concordance type of old platforms are too complex. And I feel I have come a long way with managing discovery materials.

Cons

The step to map out all the various categories, based on the load file, is a bit tedious. Sometimes, I can't find the correct category. When I try to create one, it gives me a message that it's already in use or taken, even though I can't find it in the dropdown. I'm sure it's more to do with me than the software itself, but this is my observation.

December 2, 2022

I work with this program daily and am in charge of managing and uploading files. The system is great at automating this process for ease of use. With a little bit of preparation, you can organize things extremely well.

Pros

We primarily use this product to store and code discovery documents for document review. It is so easy to code documents and redact large amounts of documents in a relatively short time.

Cons

It does not support every file type and they are still working on supporting some very useful file types for our firm.

### "NextPoint is Great!"

December 21, 2021

5.0

Really like it. Support team is fantastic and always quick to respond. The area that could be built out more is the trial prep portion. The database is great for doc review and organizing but when it comes to trial preparation, it could use some expansion of its capabilities.

Pros

It's easy to use and navigate the entire database.

Cons

Trial exhibit export and stickering is inefficient. If we had a way to bulk export and keep the family as one pdf vs exporting each individual family as one pdf.

### "Case Preparation Tool Is Essential"

July 16, 2019

4.0

Pros

I really love the case preparation tool, because so many other e-discovery programs lack this. It's great to be able to move key documents into the prep tool and have them ready for depositions, hearings, and trials. Also, the ability to issue-code deposition transcripts and search across transcripts has been a huge benefit in our motions practice.

Cons

I would really like to be able to have my document view on one screen and the document viewer on another and be able to scroll through the documents and have the document change each time. Perhaps there is a way to do this, but I am not aware of it (and seem to recall being told previously such a function was unavailable).

Response from Nextpoint

July 18, 2019

Hi Josh, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We understand the need for viewing your grid view results side-by-side with the relative documents, and we have two suggested workflows below: First, you can take advantage of the preview and theater icons next to any document. The preview icon gives you an instant look at the first page, and theater icon will open that document in a secondary window. Secondly, you can use dual windows, displaying your grid view on one and scrolling through the document results on the second. Doc Preview Info Here >> https://support.nextpoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000306511 We will follow up with you separately to ensure you are comfortable with the above solutions, but please feel free to pass along any further feedback to our team at support@nextpoint.com.
