When you have a contract that guarantees you a response to a support ticket in a specific amount of time, the response should not be a reply that acknowledges the ticket followed by a two day waiting period for the next communication. Pros I like that we have a flat charge for all the firm's data. Cons It is entirely ineffective as a production tool. We typically export documents that need to be produced and import them into another tool to generate our production. Specifically difficult to deal with is the inability to slipsheet a privileged document that is part of a responsive family where other family member are not privileged. Having to redact a 40 page document, page by page, to be able to produce the attachment to the email is ridiculous! Review Source kS kristina S. paralegal Law Practice Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "little engine that can" December 13, 2016 3.0 i think the potential np has greatly exceeds what it is currently capable of. i think the front end loading takes way too long. i think making features available without having to move between tabs would be huge. like being able to create a folder on the fly, rather than doing it beforehand then associating documents with it. also, if i'm searching for a word or set of words, i would prefer to not have to re-enter those words once i'm in the document that my initial search took me to. i love the program, but i would like it to be more user friendly. thank you and happy holidays! It doesn't have quite as many bells and whistles as relativity, but the price is so much better you can forgo some of the things. Pros Ease of use for reviewers. It is very easy to learn and use the software. Also the staff was very attentive when I had questions. Cons It is a little more cumbersome to set up quality control searches to check the review teams work compared to Relativity. It also didn't have the ability to search based on reviewer so I could filter by a reviewers work for QC or to pull statistics on a specific reviewers work. I have not had a lot of exposure to other platforms, however, the ease of navigating through Nextpoint makes it a great product! Pros Having two database options (review and prep) is a great help. It has streamlined the process of preparing, marking and saving exhibits. Also, customer support is always helpful, even when you ask a question for the 10th time! It has saved valuable time in high stakes and large scale litigation. I would recommend it to anyone for litigation support. Pros Nextpoint is very user-friendly. When reviewing, categorizing and producing thousands of documents in various legal matters, it has proven to be an invaluable litigation support tool. The search ability and organizational tools it uses are very helpful. Cons There is nothing that sticks out as a complaint about Nextpoint. Pros The document review and preparation features (doc review, bates numbering, productions, theatre) Cons It still has a "techy" "wonky" feel - easy enough if you use it regularly enough to get comfortable. But using it less than that, it can difficult to remember where to go to do certain things. It needs a more user friendly interface, buttons, workflows, etc. If you could master that part of it, it would be extremely high powered. But overall, I'm satisfied with the product. As a champion for my firm's clients, I try to save them time and money wherever possible, and Nextpoint is a great product to do just that. Pros Ease of use, time-saving strategies, and efficient handling of documents. Cons It could use a few minor updates here and there - I'd like to select one redaction style for an entire production. It would also be great to have more support with users who have Internet Explorer as that is my firm's preferred web browser. Nextpoint is compatible with IE, but some features may not work as well on older versions of IE as they do on our recommended browsers. Cons Some features are not available to standard users such as creating responsive issues. Pros We use mostly to conduct key word searches in document intensive cases in order to prepare for depositions. The search function meets all of our needs. Cons When you click on a document the pdf can take a long time to load and then take extra time to load between pages which can become frustrating. Pros This products integrates smoothly with firm's caseworks, the user interface organizes everything according to its origin, progress and information. There is a huge ammount of features that save time covering reviewing and producing discovery, as well general workload management. The pricing structure and cost relation to value are great. Pros Since I am not a long time user, the following features currently stand out to me: .The ability to upload, review, redact, and produce documents from same database. .The deposition features in the Prep database. Cons Sometimes the upload turn-around time is slow. Inability to create subfolders in Review. Inability to change folder names in the File Room. Pros I love the way this software i so much more user friendly that other software I have seen in the past. It is intuitive and most of the time I am able to figure out what I need without having to reach out to customer service. When I do, they are super responsive and always able to help!! Cons I wish I was able to keep the folder structure of documents and not just the file path when I import.
