### "Leaving Sage Timeslips after 25+ Years"

I am moving to another platform when my current subscription expires. I've NEVER experienced such horrible customer service as I did when my product renewed. No humans available to assist when the activation code didn't work. Passed from one department to another, robot to robot. This is unacceptable.

Cons

Deleting a client is difficult. I could not find an easy way to delete same.

We have used Sage Timeslips for over 25 years, but I miss the in person technical support. Good experience overall.

Pros

Functional and easy to navigate. No limit to bill images for reprinting. 

Cons

Complicated electronic billing using LEADS. Unable to save draft of the Bill for Court.

We are stuck using this software as itis what is in place at this time.

Pros

It has flexible billing rate structure, outlook integration, ability to import external data and detailed time entry screens

Cons

Very poor features for remote time entry in comparison to every other competitor. Reporting features are limited to create custom financial reports. No project management features.

Except for the email issue, Timeslips is fine and does a great job in handling the Trust Account.

Pros

The ease of data entry for time and expense slips and the great way it keeps track of client trust accounts.

Cons

The latest version of Timeslips will no longer support emailing of the finalized bill. I would have to change my Windows version and I'm not willing to do that at this time.

My overall experience has been extremely negative. I would not recommend this to anyone, except perhaps a very large organization that requires this level of customizability, has its own servers and IP department, and is willing to spend a lot of money. It is astonishing that it has been so consistently buggy, and, despite being very expensive, doesn't appear to be improved and maintained very actively. Steer clear.

Pros

It has many features and is highly customizable.

Cons

I've used many versions of it for many years, and every version has been chock-full of bugs. It's very expensive compared to competitors. It must be hosted locally, rather than in the cloud, as modern software of this sort would generally be. Usage and customization is extremely complex often requires that you hire an expert.

Reason for choosing Sage Timeslips

We've been using it for years. The plan is to move over to a better billing and time-tracking software once we choose which one that will be.

Pros

Ease of entering and tracking of attorney time. Ease of creating new matters.

Cons

The ability to generate multiple prebill worksheets. Difficult arrangement of layouts. Difficulty in creating and maintaining client fund accounts.

Sage timeslips is adequate for a small office without too much billing volume.

Pros

I like that you can transfer payments automatically to QuickBooks. New accounts are relatively easy to set up.

Cons

I dislike that you cannot unbill all prior bills. I dislike that when you want to do a prebill, the program assigns an invoice number. I would prefer a prebill option that didn't assign invoice numbers so that a prebill isn't sent out by mistake.

The sales person belittled me. would not follow up. Did not know their product. Did not know now to help me. There was no follow up on product purchased. When I finally contacted support, There was no help. We stopped using the software.

Pros

The version on my computer. But I did not like to the user's version.

Cons

I did not have control over the software. I purchased the software and had to give control to someone that worked for me. There was a lack of control over the software.

I have had thirty years using Timeslips. Always get excellent help.

Pros

I really my previous versions of Timeslips. There is one thing not available anymore - reference to have multiple jobs for one client. For the most part user friendly. Been using this since 1992.

Cons

I really liked my previous versions of Timeslips. I had the ability to add a reference if the client had several different jobs. The cost is also too high.

I use it because of inertia and the time cost of switching and risks are great. But I would not recommend it. Their approach seams to be the customer is always wrong.

Pros

Generally, it covers all issues I need for billing efficiently and maintaining comprehensive records.

Cons

The program is buggy. It has always crashed. It is expensive. Moreover, there are occasional balance errors and no way for a user to fix those errors without calling TimeSlips and paying for customer service which is poor. When upgrading, there is a 30 day fee customer service period but it may be difficult to reach someone and the calls seem to be engineered so that there will be continued questions after the the 30 day period. The support period ends after a short period even though most ot the yearly upgrades are incremental.
