"mai suite"
Overall: Overall mai is an excellent system and has made a step change in the management and profile of EHS on the site. I would highly recommend the mai system and EHA team that are very knowledgeable about the mai system, OHSAS18001 and EHS issues in general.
Pros: The Risk assessment, accident and incident and NC/CAPA modules are the most widely used and have really streamlined the EHS reporting and management on site. The Risk assessment module allows risk assessments to be conducted easily and in a standard manner by all users. The mai system is the backbone of the OHSAS18001 management system on site and was invaluable when seeking certification.
Cons: The look and feel varies slightly between modules and can take a little bit of getting used to for users. With updates to the software this has improved.
"EHS Management System Tool"
Overall: Overall the suite of MAI modules fits our requirements well, the software is used to record and monitor performance, along with corrective action. Support is good and is just a phone call away.
Pros: The following MAI (Measure, Analyses Improve) suite of EHS software modules are uses at our Pepsi Cola Concentrate Manufacturing Facility includes. 1. Risk Assessments Module: Over 2500 risk assessments complete and managed. 2. Accident and Incident Module: The MAI system is used to managed accidents, Incidents reporting, investigation and corrective actions. 3. Non Compliance Module: Used to record and track Near Miss , Good Catches, Audits and Non Compliance. 4. Aspects and Impacts Module : All Environmental Risk Assessments are on mai.
Cons: Allow time for initial set up, configuration and training. When used correctly MAI is very powerful tool and it will bring excellent benefits to your organisation.
"Using mai to implement ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001"
Overall: In doing we learn; and while introducing mai I found the configuration process, building the departments and areas and creating the aspects register in the environmental module, very rewarding as a learning exercise. The mai support staff always enabled me to ask the right type of questions and find answers to my own queries. I would highly recommend mai.
Pros: The mai manager was used to develop EHS and the EHS system requirements of ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007. The system has been designed with these standards in mind and the user can avail of a combination of modules confident in knowing that there is also excellent support available.
Cons: Like all great tools and systems it needs to be utilised correctly and maintained periodically. The quality of the data input is proportional to the output and efficiency of the system.
"Using Mai at a University"
Overall: Mai is excellent value for money. It has the flexibility and configuration options that make it possible to deal with the many complex and diverse needs of an organisation such as ours. The customer support is excellent.
Pros: Mai can handle risk assessments, corrective actions, event and incident reporting, audits/inspections and waste management amongst others in a very diverse and complex organisation. A highly configurable and flexible system.
Cons: Occasionally we come across a few glitches but these are quickly rectified by an excellent customer support service. Some features common to different modules act slightly differently but this is already being worked on.
"Easy to use H&S Software."
Overall: The fact you can configure your own audits, risk assessments etc, is excellent. The reporting tool is well set up. This system makes managing HSE at our site quiet a bit easier. Overall this site has moved us forward.
Pros: We quadrupled our risk assessments in a very short space of time using MAI. Very easy to use with excellent help videos on all modules. Support staff always available and are extremely helpful.
Cons: None that are worth mentioning.
