It's really easy to manage projects in ActiveCollab. Pros ActiveCollab is not bloated with features. It works fast and looks nice. After working with bloated all-in-one systems ActiveCollab is like a breath of fresh air. New employees don't have any problems with onboarding. Cons Sometimes Android app don't show task comments. Pros I love that I am able to create templates for the ongoing Projects/Tasks I generate often. Love the integration with the timer, it makes the accounting peoples job easier. Cons I wish Active Collab was able to integrate with other tools we use such as Slack. I also think the iPhone App could function better. Sometimes it can be a bit confusing. We found that ActiveCollab had a lot of great features that you need to run an agency that other PM software just didn't have without additional 3rd party integrations. And AC imported all our projects directly from Basecamp so we didn't have to start from scratch. Ever since moving to AC it's been much easier to manage and track our time accurately and invoice for it too! AC does a great job at keeping track of what you invoiced and what you haven't. It's nice being able to keep track of our entire team's workload. The workload report is one we use often along with the calendar. It helps us keep track of our capacity. Communicating with clients is easy, as AC keeps everything centralized. Though it would be nice if clients had to tag at least one team member when they send a message or default to the project lead. The overall interface is very simple to use for the most part. We do find it confusing sometimes when we try and do bulk actions, I tend to accidentally mark the task as completed instead. I would recommend AC to any agency looking for a good overall project management tool. AC fits our needs well and that's what we like best about it. Overall I would say that if you are considering a project management software, you should definitely give ActiveCollab a try. Review Source MN Marion N. It helps keep everything in a single place so everything is on the same page Cons It does not present an easy to use system for clients or occasional freelancers who use it sparingly. It requires training and experience to use effectively. In addition, we've found that sometimes files that are attached to emails that go to the project do not always connect to the project correctly. Every other tool available online missing at least one or two of the above. Cons User interface design. I'm not saying it's bad. Cons Off the top of my head, tracking time - there are so many clicks to enter a single time entry through the time log page. I think it'd be helpful to have a button that pulls in projects from the week before in addition to being able to add new projects individually.
