### "Don’t purchase"

August 13, 2022

2.0

Extremely disorganized group. Never got the EMR implemented after 5 months. Got charged for three months for something we could never use. Implementation team discontinued our e prescriptions without notice before theirs was set up. Now they refuse to refund our money and continue to charge my credit card.

Pros

Never got to use it secondary to their failure to implement it after 4-5 months

Cons

Not easily implemented. Disorganized team.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Predictably in cost but this was a mistake

### "Advancedmd- Switch from Practice Fusion"

June 26, 2018

5.0

It is a bit overwhelming to switch over to a product like this, but I think is well worth the effort in the long run. The support and training teams have been excellent and very responsive. They gave me a very low price /month as a solo practitioner, since I won't be using a lot of it's more advanced features.

Pros

Price point very competitive, especially for a solo practice Combines EHR and complete Practice Management/Billing software- fully integrated with clearinghouse Support and training are excellent and VERY comprehensive. Lots of videos to watch plus 10 hours 1:1 with a trainer. If you are a solo practitioner, it is possible to use this program yourself and not have any staff. Mobile APP for iphone/ipad is excellent. Very easy to schedule a patient on the fly, register a new patient, etc. with an iphone. They offer a credit card billing module that works great with co-payments.

Cons

There is a substantial learning curve. The product is well designed and very complex- what medical record/billing system isn't. I have used Medisoft for years and had Practice Fusion as a separate EHR. Combining the two should save a fair amount of money and time. Everything is in the cloud (is this better or not?). The training is extensive and very good, but there are 100's of features in this program. It is really made for an office with several MD's, nurses, front staff, etc., but you can have the program custom set up for one user and not use a lot of the features (such as check-in, check-out, auditing accounts, etc.)

### "The most horrible experince you could have"

February 9, 2018

1.0

Cons

It has been a nightmare to work with this people. To all who want to listen.. be very clear with them about the agreement cancelation. Especially with the sellers. They will promise two months of implemental phase for free but it is going to take more than that and you will finish paying for a service you are not receiving. That happened to me and they started charging me. When I tried to cancel the contract nobody answered. So they continue charging our account. After a lot of conversation, they offered to credit my account if I continue with them which for me it was a big "bribe" Of course at this point I was not waiting for a piece of honesty from this people. We are going to be sent to collection for a 'delinquent" balance charged for a service that we didn't receive. BE CAREFUL this could be your story too.

### "Sales Team Lies!!"

November 4, 2016

3.0

The software it self is okay but the sales tatics are horrible! They have different level packages which I was not told. I explained what exactly I needed and I was told it was included in my package.....it was not! I even have emails to prove that the sales rep told me these things were included but it did no good as the Manager never returns phone calls unless you get the training team involved! Even then, he promised to review the emails and get back with me, he never did. Training takes a while as it is done is segments. We didn't have time for that so we had to learn a lot on our own. I will say that that they do provide training videos to help. We've been on about a momth and a half and are feeling pretty confident now. It's different but overall a decent software. Just make sure you get everything in writing from the sales rep (not that it will do any good).

Pros

Once you learn it, it's pretty decent.

Cons

Sales reps are shady. It's like dealing with a used car salesman. You will be told anything to get a sale.

### "Awesome Software"

December 8, 2017

4.0

Pros

We love that it allows us to build our own templates to fit our practice. We are a co-occurring Mental Health and SUD program, thus we needed customizable documents and templates. The schedule function is great as well. We can set appointments with color coordination, multi-person groups, and easily move appointments.

Cons

Not a lot of templates for us to use with our SUD program (but we created them!) Hard to learn all the features of the software as there are so many.

### "Bad experience"

April 4, 2018

1.0

Pros

I used AMD at a community counseling agency and thought it would be wise to use it for my private practice. I was wrong.

Cons

Difficult to use, no customer support, I would call or email with a question and would not hear back for a week. I was sold the product under false pretense and when I began to receive my monthly invoice it was much more than I expected. When I did speak to customer support they were short, not helpful. I was required to submit notice 10 days prior to end of month to cancel contract. I emailed my contact multiple times asking where I should send the email and never heard back. I attempted to log on the beginning of this month and my account has been disabled with no notice, no response from anyone in customer service. For a small practice, stay far away from this product. Far far away.

### "Feature Packed"

December 6, 2023

5.0

Extremely positive. The software can handle anything we throw at it.

Pros

AdvancedMD is easy to use while having all the features needed to manage a practice. And the treatment templates are customizable.

Cons

Not much. There are so many options, sometimes we forget where to find the feature we need.

### "Trialed and did not like after one month."

November 23, 2020

3.0

see above

Pros

Was able to interact well with PM software and billing company.

Cons

Utterly to complicated system. We previously used Eclinicalworks, then used chartlogic and wanted a more well rounded system. By the first week of using we noticed many problems and addressed with their IT department, at advancedmd, but did not find a solution. The software had long lag times to find cpt codes and difficulty linking payments. In the end we decided to stop using after one month, but had to pay a buyout of $1,440 dollars. They should have refunded our money for using this system. I have used Epic, Cerner, meditech, AHLTA, and Chartlogic, along with having taken computer science courses. I'm a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon and definitely would not recommend this system to anybody that I know.

We are a busy gastroenterology practice in Queens, NY. For years, we were running a different Practice Management system. We did not have an EHR, and our paper chart system was very ineffective. It was time to implement an EHR. In February 2011, I decided to go with AdvancedMD. I liked that the system was cloud-based and offered integrated both PM and EHR services. Since AdvancedMD is a cloud-based system, we no longer needed to invest in costly updates. The implementation process was not easy. We had been using paper charts for 20 years and had to reevaluate the workflow of our office. I think it is very important for a practice to decide how they want to use the system, assign a project manager, and make sure that all employees are involved. Setting goals is equally important. The AdvancedMD implementation team sets up the implementation timeline for you. The staff needs adequate time to familiarize themselves with the software. If training is done properly, the software is relatively easy to use, and the billing side of it is just excellent. Our practice benefited from the system enormously. The quality of patient care has increased. Our collections have increased as well. We were also able to qualify for the Meaningful Use Stage 1 incentive payment from Medicare in 2012.

### "Not ready for Prime Time"

November 11, 2015

1.5

Pros

Basic Practice Management System - fairly complete. I don't have the EHR. I have been with them for about 5 months, but 'live' for 1 month. Our trainer is really nice, and is available often

Cons

We have a great trainer, but they have NO customer service. We are told to address all problems to the trainer, and she "passes them on" There are a lot of problems with the software and no one to address them to. These problems are so unusual for a modern PM system, that I wonder how they have gotten this far. For instance , there is a database of locations , like your hospital, nursing homes, rehab centers, etc. In the database, you populate the name, address, NPI number, but NOT THE PLACE OF SERVICE CODE. So for each and every bill line item, each time you bill, you have to remember to change the place of service. This is just one example of why this is a 'not ready for prime time' program. It took us about 3-4 month for them to be ready for us to go live, and they still messed up transferring over the demographics from our old company - in a big way. We will pay for that in lost productivity for years. Only part of the superbill is user- adjustable. I could go on...

### "Transition to AdvancedMD"

August 10, 2017

5.0

We made the transition from outsourced billing to in-house billing and with AdvancedMD the transition has been smooth! We are so glad we made the jump. We have saved money and have gained full control to see what sources are paying out and which are not.

Pros

The system is very user friendly. There are a lot of reports and screens, which can be overwhelming; however, with great customer service and implementation specialists designed to make your transition smooth, you realize how much you are really getting!

### "Probably a better product than the "free" EHR we were using. "

August 16, 2017

4.0

Vague question- compared to what?

Pros

Seems to have a lot of functionality- more than we are aware of. The ability to perform customization to our practice needs is very important.

Cons

The proper utilization of ALL the functionality is severely limited by the quality of the training provided with the initial purchase and set up. It seems that we have bought a product which is in a large part beyond our ability to utilize to its maximum performance.

### "You don't always get what you pay for!"

March 13, 2018

STAY AWAY!!! You have been warned.

Pros

Um..a few training videos are nice. However there's an over reliance on them. They sound great on the front end and are skilled in the deceptive marketing of their product.

Cons

If you are a physician exploring different options for your EHR and billing, let me do you a favor and strongly discourage you from spending any time looking at this company. They are unprofessional, and over-priced. Their cost is outrageous for the services received and are likely to cost you even more due to the software and inability to support their clients properly. There is a tremendous disconnect between what comes out of their marketers mouth and what you will see with implementation. My level of dissatisfaction with their product and their service can not be overstated.

### "Very poor performance since AdvancedMD switched to their "New Scheduler"."

February 26, 2019

We will be shopping around for other scheduling software.

Pros

Since the switch, we have been unable to identify any "Pros" with the "New Scheduler"...............

Cons

Extremely slow response - scroll bars make the columns "jump" around - the entire site tends to lock up requiring restarting - these are among many other problems.

Pros

User friendly. Constantly improving. Support is awesome. They listen to their users. Implements managers hold your hand through the whole process.

Cons

Messaging is to cumbersome. E-fax would be better is we could search my patients name instead of looking at every fax.

### "Empty promises "

August 16, 2019

1.0

It has been aggravating. We have been working on this for 7 months and have still not gone active with our EHR. No one tries to understand our individual company needs. I sent an email to the president without a response.

Pros

That it could be customized to our needs, but this was false. Client services are awesome, especially rep.

Cons

A lot of hidden costs. Templates were not appropriate for our needs and VERY expensive to have them custom built. Communication is very poor. It has been difficult getting people to understand a therapy clinic vs a physicians office.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Based on false promises from a very good sales team. Would not do it again.

### "The product is good but there was a hill to climb to get it to work for us; it took longer than we were told orginally."

July 10, 2018

4.0

For the most part, you get what you put into it. The process is not simple and this program should only be chosen if you have experence in billing software. It is working better now but it has taken four months to get it to this point. I would only recommend this product to meical offices who have used other billing software program.

Pros

The product is designed well but it is a complicated product compared to others. The customer support is caring but they just cant fix everything quickly. They have a good platform for billing but the person billing needs to have some experience. We found that this program is fine for experienced offices.

Cons

The biggest challenge was working out all the bugs in the system. It did not go as quickly as the sales process indicated. We needed to stick with it to get this platform to work for us.

I have a Solo Practice and signed up for AdvancedMD almost a year ago. After several delays, some of which were of our own making, we went live about 6 months ago. Implementation and training was average. The assigned trainer seemed to have trouble focussing on one subject. AdvancedMD who "helped" us do the EDI agreements got it all wrong. Thanks to AdvancedMD, I have not been paid in 6 months. When we call AdvancedMD, we are given the run around. Infact, lately they have been trying to avoid taking our calls. On the EMR side, the major problems started when we went live. Thats when you realize that you have been cut loose. Tech / customer support is a very bad joke. This EHR in not at all user friendly. Not only does it slow you down but many of the promised funtionalities don't work. I am very concerned if I am even going to get the Medicare Incentive money. I will admit that I probably did not do a good enough job in researching and selecting this EHR. Since we are expanding and adding another clinic. we can't afford to have a system that slows us down or where tech support has driven my office staff insane. Hopefully, we will have a new system in place for the begining of the year.

### "Pleased with the Product!"

August 24, 2016

4.0

Pros

The staff are all great to work with! Super helpful and quick to respond! Also, a pretty easy setup to learn, works the way you would expect it to which eases the burden of training new staff on the system.

Cons

The constant bugs and fixes that occur. AMD freezes and crashes pretty often and also starts to run very slow sometimes for all of our staff and providers. Also, sometimes parts of the system are updated but the helpfile is not, which makes it hard to troubleshoot.

### "Overpriced under performing "

September 6, 2016

2.0

Pros

Not a cookie cutter product. The software can be modified to create template for your providers workflow.

Cons

Your data cannot be exported into a usable format if you use even one free text field in the EMR if you choose to leave AdvancedMD. Its a know bug that hasn't been fixed even after paying for the data dump. The PMS and EMR are two different system loosely connected leading to problems with connectivity if you utilize the patient portal and the online forms module.

### "The people who work at Advancedmd are Amazing they go above and beyond."

The Price ...

Pros

Its customization is what makes it so unique and the value for the money is what makes this program so great. So glad we switched to Advancedmd.

Cons

Having to learn how to build the templates myself was a little difficult at first, so if your not technical I could see how this would get a little overwhelming. My trainer helped alot but you do have to watch the videos several times.
