### "Customer Support is Extremely Inadequate"

Pros

Once you learn the software it is pretty easy to navigate.

Cons

There have been several billing errors in the last three months. None of which have been resolved. We are going on two months now. If I didn't pay for two months I guarantee my services would be stopped, but apparently refunding errors on the software side are not as important to this company. I have spoken to several people regarding this issue and not one person has resolved the issue or returned calls as stated.

1) It gets a little slow at times, maybe because it is cloud based. 2) There are so many templates and it gets confusing at times

We have used advancedMD for the past 7 years. I find it very reasonably priced, compared to other EMR that are out there and charge for every update. The billing is the easiest, and getting paid immediately is a huge plus. I love that we can tell which claims are outstanding and can follow up easily. The claim scrubber is the best. I had no prior training in coding or billing, and we were up and running in no time at all - thanks to the training and support we had from a very knowledgeable rep. I don't understand why some offices are having such a difficult time with it. I've recommended it to other offices here in town, and they improved their collections dramatically. Support has changed in the past few years, but i find that if you use the "contact support" on the login page, someone usually returns your call that same day.

Still thinking about this one. I have found little that I like except practice management which is outsourced to a private vendor.

Pros

The product is cheap. You talk to live person every time you call customer service. Can build templates with ease.

Cons

This product has a lot of bugs and is not stable. It freezes a lot. It is not compatible with Dragon dictation software. The dashboard that is supposed to show the business performance analysis does not work. There are a lot of issues with Practice Management software. It automatically posts the charges incorrectly every single time by splitting the payments. I called tech support many times; they can not fix it. I have a lot of issues with training; they rush you through the free training hours which is not enough.

Pros

How easy the system is to use and the great customer service. I also enjoyed the transition of our old billing system to this billing system, the implementation process was smooth and very informative.

Cons

We use this system to create the second half of our payroll reports for our individual providers and there isn't an actual report available that provides the information we need. We need to go to a larger report and custom design the report in excel to fit out needs.

Pros

I love that the system encompasses billing, A/R, EHR, Labs, etc into one interface. Statements are easily tracked and it's easy to keep up with claims that aren't getting paid. Payments are also coming in faster than our old system.

Cons

On the EHR side, our doctor feels like there is a lot of setup required to make the system more user friendly. Until setup is complete, dictations require some extra time and work.

The company has been extremely hard to deal with from the very beginning. They told us how they would support us, then those people went away and the new people oddly never got the word. Be very careful that you understand how you get your data out of AdvancedMD. It is not as easy as you might think, or they say. The template idea only works if you do the same thing over and over again. The people helping you set the software up do not have any clinical experience so they aren't much help. I cannot recommend this software.

It is so easy to use and has more features than you could ever dream. I love that everything can be electronic.

Pros

The setup of our keys went smooth. The training is fun and always available. I have not ran across any scenarios that AdvancedMD cannot handle.

Cons

I like all of the features. The ledger is easy to use; correcting and refilling claims is an easy process; the clearinghouse is user friendly and does most of the work for you. The reporting is very easy to read and I can find different ways to run reports based on the wants of our clients.

Pros

I like that it has features that will halt any further action if a mistake is made and won't let dirty claims be transmitted. It seems to do most of the work. I have had an A/R as low as 14 days and only 11.8% of claims over 120 days. As for the vendor, I find that they are extremely knowledgeable.

Cons

Some of the claim error messages do not give enough detail as to what the problem actually is, and I have to call support. I also don't feel that the offset/recoupment process is user-friendly. I don't know that I can really say anything bad or negative about the vendor at this time.

Having 20 years experience using EHR and practice management systems, I can say that ADP AdvancedMD is an exceptional EHR/PM software package. We have a busy two-office family practice, and for years we tried different software to help us with billing, patient data and scheduling, but they frequently ended up causing more headaches for us. They were difficult to use, required us to enter data twice for each of our offices, and added hours of labor for my staff and me. The solutions we tried did little to help us spend more time helping patients. In addition, we have two offices 50 miles apart, so having a web-based software was essential. We needed the right tools to bridge the gap and AdvancedMD’s integrated EHR/PM solution has done that for us.

Pros

It has many useful features, I like that you can go to the patient account from the billing screen. It is easy to look up and correct issues on claims.

Cons

I do not like drop down boxes, I would rather be able to data entry my needs. I don't like the labels that reports have. i.e. Aging Reports (old school) is now called Total A/R Detail Report. I also don't care for the Medicare EOB.

that it is connect to the practice management program. On our old system to had to purchase two different programs. One for EHR and one for practice management.

Cons

the nursing staff doesn't like it very much. They are still getting used to the change. I don't work with the Electronic Health Record side very much. I do most of my work with the practice management program.

Pros

I like that I can take everything I had on hard copy and convert to electronic files while being able to duplicate all my forms, and new forms, using their template feature. Best of all, the telemedicine. My remote patient/client base is growing at a vast level and this provides a secure communication while meeting HIPAA guidelines.

Cons

The cost of the add-ons. It's not that I don't like it but it's like "yeah, and we also have this but here is how much it costs". I don't like that. I rather just know the cost of all the add-ons upfront and let me do my ROI.

I like the fax feature we have. Before I would have to print out each item in the chart to manually fax out a patients medical records. Now it's easy to fax out medical records from the patients chart.

Cons

its not user friendly to learn how to use. It is a product that needs a training session with a trainer from Advanced EHR to come to the office and train the staff.

Pros

I liked the ease of the transition and training up front on the product. The reports are great if you buy the additional reporting suite, which gives you more options. It's web-based, so you can log in from anywhere and work.

Cons

The support was great in the beginning and still is for simple chat requests, but if you have to have a case opened for further review, it takes forever. Sometimes, months go by with no update. I had a case open once for so long that when they finally called about it, I had forgot that was even an issue because we found a workaround.
